[Q] Upgrading Firmware

Hey guys, i just got my galaxy note N8000, i am from the philippines and was wondering coz if its really from samsung Philippines, can i just flash other firmwares from other countries? For example malaysia or singapore. Coz i think my firmware is still old, my kernel build is jul 20 i think

FWIW I've used firmwares from other countries flashing other android devices. Used the ICS ROM for Europe on my GTab 7.7 recently. Zedomax speaks of using different country ROMs in his posting on rooting so it would seem that as long as the device model is correct, one can flash away. Logically, that is. In the real world, things get fuzzy.

So the 900+mb files at sammobile should be the one that i have to download? Thanks

he refers to the 4.1.x update that has been appearing since december in some countries but in others still not

So op it does not matters.....just flash any firmware of 4.1.2 version of any country for which it has been currently released .....

Galaxy note 3 Greek users thread

Seems that 25th will be the day for us.
I preorderd myne from Plaisio and w8ting ... i call them every day and in friday told me they will know for sure in thusday.

Yeah but a friend with a company buys it for me .. i avoid the VAT which is 23% so it costs me 600€... again is a lot of money but its digested better

After pressure in plaisio they told me that they give the devices in Monday in 30 of September, damn I thought will be faster :'(

Same here. Both the picture and the Kies CSC match mine.
Also when i check through *#1234# my CSC is N9005OXXBMI4.
As of October the 12th, still NO update available.

The method can also root for MI7 version?
Since i tried to root my device (MI7 from Hong Kong), it shown invalid ext4 error when flashing

I had mi7 also and I rooted fine. Some other guys had this problem also and I think they had an option checked in security before flash that has to do with a key in samsung account.

got two updates tonight one of 28mb and one of 25mb

I also received two OTAs one right after the other on my UK SIM free N9005, in the UK.
I'm also interested in knowing what the wifi issue actually was because I didn't experience any issues.

Back to back on my N9005. Phone feels faster when scrolling on TouchWiz, battery lasts much longer I've managed to get 12 Hours heavy usage and I've not even done a full charge yet! Really happy with Samsung, they are taking the Note 3 seriously.

I have just received an upgrade notification here Oz. Has anyone tried this? I hate that it will not tell me the build no before I install. I've had so may problems with updates lately I am very paranoid.

Have not accepted it yet, but I think I will. I think the CSC will be N9005OLBENA3, mine now is N9005ZKEXME, I think. all these different numbers and different names for the same things make me confused!

Build from NA6 to NB4.
Security software from Release 1 to Release 2
Baseband from NA2 to NB1
I'm looking for some improvement in the signal strength as this was lousy after the last update. Not very hopeful, however.
