Note 3 Vs G2 1080p showdown - Galaxy Note 3 General

Here is a video of the Note 3 Vs the G2. Looks like the note 3's auto focus is better and the ois of the g2 helps a little. But not that much... Color is better on the note 3 too i think?

I'm looking through the 20 or so videos I took out doors with my Verizon G2 at the zoo and other places and the image isn't as bad as your representation. Maybe you are on the wrong setting or your phone has issues? Other video comparisons are out there also and I have yet to see your results duplicated.
Comparing videos I shot today with my Note 3 I would say they are both good but the G2 is better because of the reduction in noise during movement.

I've got my hands on one now. Its a SK telecom model in white from Korea. F350S is the model. Its speed is like the note 3 UI is maybe a little faster, its larger next to my note 3 but the handling of the phone is not too bad. Nice matte textured back. Its about .5cm taller same width more or less.
The camera blows the Note 3's camera away. To be honest thats not hard as the note 3 camera is not very good. Not in anything but sunlight. The camera in the g pro 2 is very fast and fast to lock. OIS+ seems just like the OIS of the G2 maybe a tad better hard to say as I don't have my G2 anymore to compare. Its overall a great camera bu I think some photos are over sharpened. If we can just mod the camera like with the G2 it will be perfect.
I will do a video of the 4k vs note 3's 4k video.

Thumbs up to LGs latest innovation. Better camera, faster load time and perfect fit to those who have bigger hands. I met my matched phone on this device.
owned a note 3 before and sold it before i get the g pro 2, overall, i feel it's similar, the most important thing to me is battery and the G Pro 2 beats the note 3 by a bit for me, some review claims the note 3 has better battery which is not the case for me

also the knock-code and double tap to lock on stock is a plus!
Samsung and their knox makes some people think twice before rooting their phone..
if you are not into sytlus then lg g pro 2 is so much better than Note 3. It has fantastic camera and video with OIS. Build quality is great, no screen gaps near the bezel for dust to accumulate like the Note 3, no wobbly home button which is a perennial problem with samsung phones. The size is just a little bigger than Note 3 but cleanner with no volume buttons or power button at the sides. The back is a bit slippery compared to Note 3 but is really finger-print FREE, and the battery is really great
I have both (and a HTC One Max and a Sony Z Ultra). In terms of built quality, GP2 is definitely better than the N3 (indeed, OneMax > ZUltra > GP2 > N3). Only strength for N3 is the stylus with air gesture, etc. Other than that, it is at the bottom of my favorite list.

Which one is your favorite?
I'm deciding between One Max & GP2
also how's the gps on GP2 compared to others? is it as bad as LG G2 and needs a hardware hack?
Can't comment on G2 as I don't have one. The GPS of both One Max and GP2 are very competent, no lack and lock fast.
The build quality of One Max is way better than GP2 but is slightly bigger, thicker and heavier. The sound is much better too. GP2 is more "pocketable" so they are a tie to me.

Very interesting indeed. Still haven't bothered capturing at 4k as I don't have a display to do it justice. Might start recording and archive so come the time for a new TV I have some bright sharp memories to view.
I spend a full 20 minutes staring and laughing hysterically at the thread title. Thought it was about photo's, as opposed to video.
Wasn't expecting that from the Note 3, actually. Not bad at all, for such a tiny sensor.
Honestly though, comparing 4K against 1080p? Even if you downsize, that's an unfair comparison as 4K records more data than 1080p at the raw source. It's like shooting in Jpeg directly, or converting a RAWfile to Jpeg. (Which only makes sense if you know photography.)
I am, however, in doubt. An old classmate of mine shoots entire films with his 5D MKIII, and the quality is significantly better than what we're seeing in the video.

I'm sorry but you're wrong, the comparison is as valid as any comparison between 2 devices. It would be like saying you can't compare benchmarks between Note 3 and GS5, because GS 5 has CPU running at higher frequency.
The fact is Note 3 can record 4k video out of the box and can record higher resolution, sharper video, than any DSLR currently on the market, period. Of course those were done in full sun/ good light, in low light Canon would win hands down. You could also see blown highlights in Note 3 video, but never the less our phone has excellent video recording capabilities I bet a lot of people are not even aware off and you have to remember Canon 5D mark III has probably one of the best video recording capabilities among DSLR and was used in quiet few commercial video recordings you see on TV. Even thought some people dismiss this as useless gimmick, it was one of the reasons I got Note 3 and I record all video in 4k, mostly of my kids, for the future memories. Right now none of my computers can play 4k video smoothly and I don't even have 4k display yet, but all this will be rectified before end of this year. Funny thing is, it is Samsung pushing the envelope, where the hell is Sony, commercial and consumer video leader?
arhhh the Pixel Myth.... Just like the Megahertz Myth! Bigger numbers doesn't always mean better. The N3 is a complete waste of time in low light despite being able to record @ 4k. I'd like to have seen the guy walking around (camera movement) with both devices as this would have shown which device was better when watching both playbacks.

Apparently you didn't see the video comparison, which clearly shows Note 3 video is much sharper, even on low resolution screen and apparently you never looked at benchmarks, clearly showing that everything else being equal, phone running at higher GHz will run faster most of the time, otherwise you wouldn't call it a myth. As far as low light goes, every camera sucks, it just a matter of how little is not enough. Canon 5d has full size sensor, which is almost as big as half width of the phone and this size sensor could not be fitted in a small phone and forget about optics required, never the less, with huge handicap in sensor size, much, much lower price and basic optics, Note 3 is competitive in good light. In low light it is much worse, but if you ever went to the movie set, just about half of the equipment is lights to improve exposure and they have cameras costing more than most people house, so yeah, good light is required for all cameras if you want good video.

Camera comparison? OPO, N4, N5, MotoX (13,14), N6?

I take lots of fast action snap shots/videos of my 2 young kids. For this purpose, how do you rank the cameras in OPO, N4, N5, N6, MotoX (both 13, 14)?
Other suggestions are also appreciated.
I've owned an iPhone 5, 5S, HTC One M7/M8, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Note 3, and the OPO. The OPO has the best camera in my opinion. I took a damn good macro shot today that blew my mind and my coworkers mind today. I haven't done any video yet.
I almost tried all of that because im working in an eletrodomestic shop but OPO still the best..
Waaaait you're saying the O+O has a better camera than the HTC M8! Man that's a tough call. I've seen and used the M8 and its duo ultra pixel camera takes some of the best night pics I've seen.

Alot of people say OPO camera is the best etc....and then you got those people saying even Moto G can take better pictures at least in low light.....
I get it that RAW pictures can be edited and made perfect, but smartphone is not about RAW, its about shooting in Auto (Clear, HDR, Auto modes etc) so shooting decent/good pictures in all light conditions is important.
The Snap Camera beta version takes really good low light shots when the noise reduction filter is applied in the app.

LG V10 vs iPhone 6s Plus camera showdown

So I took to normal non tech people and let them shoot pics (in auto) with the LG V10 and the iPhone 6s Plus.
https://youtu.be/73bYwnju8gg
The iPhone pictures looked nice but almost as if it was HDR as standard?
The video on the V10 also looked a bit stuttery which surprised me.
Nice video
Thanks for doing it.

There are some videos on YouTube that don't have that stutter at all. I personally believe comparisons using auto-modes are unfair comparisons, as one phones auto-mode is very different that anothers auto-mode. The best comparisons are when the user takes the best possible image/video they can with each phone.

Photo Blind Test - OnePlus 6 vs iPhone X vs Pixel 2 vs Galaxy S9

The guys at OnePlus recently conducted a photo blind test for different categories. They've published the result on their forums.
Apparently, OnePlus 6 wins the low-light portrait mode. While iPhone X wins best Architecture photo, Pixel 2 wins Low-light and S9 wins the best portrait photo.
The blind test - https://www.oneplus.in/blindtest-6
The result - https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...-guess-who-won-the-portrait-low-light.838746/
What do you guys think?
I think overall, the OP6 is pretty great. I honestly think Pixel 2 wins though. The low-light is just great
Sadly, results IRL don't seem so good right now. Very inconsistent...
It shows in the various YT Videos as well. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad.
My wife's iPhone x camera is also hit and miss so I would say it's probably not something we should worry about?
