Well they didn't make it cheap that is for sure. Cost's 100 quid less than the phone itself.

Now thats one stupid price.

I thought Sandisk said they were about 18 months from perfecting it..... must have found a shortcut
Anyway, stupid price but very welcomed. I have a 64Gb and it's completely full, I need a 128Gb for my phone......

To much mate!

That price is for the ultra rich or crazy stupid crowd. I get that its no small feat to get 128GB into that form factor but wow, twice the storage at 10 times the price.

Cheaper to just carry an additional 64GB in your wallet...

People, it isn't really that price. It's just a placeholder, they set an extortionate price so they can have it in place without the risk of anyone actually being dumb enough to buy it.

Would this be compatible with our Note 3 whenever the card is out that is. Agreed that's just insane price.

I'm glad someone else pointed this out before I have to. Anyway, it's probably not just so that nobody is stupid enough to order it, but also so they can list it and PERHAPS get the odd preorder in from someone with too much money on their hands and be sure they make a profit.
It's quite a common thing for shops to do, though occasionally the "preorder" price is too low - I remember preordering Rock Band (the full band set) for £60 a few years ago!

the high end mobiles were already supporting 64 gb sdcard when note 2 came out.

[Q] How can they sell these this cheap?

On ebay- how is this possible? Are these garbage? http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Micro-SDHC-...gital_Camera_Memory_Cards&hash=item3a5f1832d6

my experience is that cheap ebay stuff is usually just as good. probably fell off a truck or the seller has some sort of connect. i'd trust it tho
they probably have like 50 of them so the price is not a issue for them Ebay is generally safe got my droid 2 for 50 bucks
Probably counterfeit
You have to be careful with media cards...there's quite a big counterfeiting business in them...from what I've read.

I wouldn't waste my time. These cards are most likely fake. They show up to windows, your phone, or whatever as 32 gb but will really be a lot less. Once at capacity, for example 2gb, extra data becomes corrupted. Having the sandisk logo doesn't mean anything, there is a lot of fakes out there. The general rule is that if somethings too good to be true, it is.

His feed back looks pretty good to me. It's super easy to check for 32 gig's obviously if it isn't there then contact the seller. Worst case you lose $12 for a couple extra gigs. I might buy one
I bought one its not much to loose ill tell ya how it is

This is very true. The digital camera folks have a lot to say about this. The cards can be formatted way beyond their actual capacity, and then fail dramatically. When they go, they're gone. Here's a couple of articles I found:

http://members.shaw.ca/fakesandisk/
I wish you guys the best of luck, but I'd also be real careful about keeping your stuff backed up off-site. I'd sure hate to lose all my nandroids!
Thanks for the feedback guys. I have a $50 gift card to best buy so I'll buy a real one.

LG Nexus 5 16GB - Still worth it?

Hey guys tomorrow I may be getting a new smartphone and I was thinking if the LG Nexus 5 (16GB) is still worth it. The maximum I can afford is 350 euros. I'm not gonna pay more than that. I also have the option to choose between this one and LG G3S 8GB or LG G2 16GB. Which should I get and why? Thank you.
Out of those three get the Nexus, although if you can find one get a 32GB just for peace of mind. As for why, it's a Nexus so it's just better

Thanks! Another question: is it possible to install apps on external SD card? I currently own a chinese brand that let's me move most of the apps to the SD card. Can you do that on the Nexus 5? I'm asking this because I doubt I'll find the 32GB version.

There is no external SD card. You'd have to buy and otg cable ansbuab memory stick. You can then move sdcard data to otg using root apps such as folder mount.
Buy a used from Craigslist if you have one.

Be careful when buying from craigslist IMO. I bought mine from a guy who posted his ad on craigslist.. worked for 2-3 days then it wouldn't work. it turned out the phone was stolen and got blacklisted at least in Canada.
I haven't had trouble on craigslist. If you go that route have the person meet you at your service provider so they can check the imei. Works for me.
Yuup! Totally worth it. I have been using a Nexus 5 16GB for about 4 months now. Although a 32GB version is recommended if u can afford it, since Nexus 5 don't have External Memory!
I'd take a 1+1

I'm gonna be satisfied with it but it's really a pain in the oven the fact that I couldn't find the 32gb version. By the way I'm no expert in rooting/kernels/roms etc but from what I can see this phone has very good support. Thanks guys!!
EDIT: Guys, I just got owned. The same website sells LG G2 32GB at 350 euros. Would you guys cancel the order for this new option?

Too late. But I'm still satisfied. 16GB is gonna be enough for me. I'm not an enthusiastic gamer but I do like to play sometimes. Usually if I get tired of a game I just delete it. I'm not into music so much, so songs don't bother me so much. A couple of apps wouldn't even get closer to 1GB (I'm not talking about gaming apps). I don't know about the typical sizes of kernels/roms but I think 16GB is plenty for my needs. Thanks.

Well, I'll learn to survive at the limit. In the future (2,5+ years later if it endures all the pain) I'll probably switch to N6 32GB.
The fact that the OS's size is 5GB sounds like a 'tricky scam' from the producers to me. The phone should have about 21GB total memory not 16 then.

I had ordered an anti-shock protection as well for the N5 but what's interesting is that they'd bring them to me separately (two different transport packages lol - which is more expensive). Mildly Infuriating: 128/256GB Storage Option will be available for US on May 18th

File this under "WTF Samsung."
https://news.samsung.com/us/galaxy-s9-s9plus-new-128gb-256gb-storage/
I waited and researched my options, before finally pulling the plug and settled with the unlocked 64GB SD version that's available in the US. I bouhgt my device on Apr 1st, didn't even realize that their window to initiate RMA is only 15 days.
Chatted with a live chat agent, and didn't offer any other way to help me to exchange to the larger storage options as I'm out of my 15 day window.
I want to see if anyone else has encountered this situation with Samsung direct...I've read in the past bout how terrible their customer service is, so not really putting much hope on this one.
Or open to any other suggestion as well.
TLR: Bought 64GB on Apr 1st from Samsung.com, now they announce the larger storage options but I'm out of the return period.
Your going to need to sell it, as much as I hated to say that.
But I am with you, I never really need 128G but if its available I always get it because it increases the resale value. Now that they got 128 / 256GB I am sure the resale of the current 64GB's just hit the floor.
Wow that's kind of messed up for those who actually buy these devices and have to recoup the costs when they upgrade later
One of the reasons I went with Exynos was for the 128. I'd almost consider selling it for the SD variant now just for the better radio support in the u.s.

Unfortunately yeah. I even called the sales line, they won't budge at all. And they kept like..."you know you can also upgrade the storage through microsd to up to 400GB..." And I told them..yeah I could, but wouldn't you rather me spending that $195 on you instead?
Plus, these people have no clue on the speed difference between UFS 2.1 and microsd.

you know this was the deciding point that made me go for the 64GB SD variant since I was reading about the poor signal quality and what not.

I'm using Cricket, and my signal strength is fine, but I can't help but feel like my data would be faster on a SD variant.
Is wanting a bigger storage option just solely for the higher resale value after? I would understand the outrage if there was no expandable storage but in this case there is expandable storage.

nope, I just need bigger storage since I have a lot of apps and files even with my 200GB microsd. Constantly moving pics/videos to the Microsd gets real old real fast.
and as mentioned before, having UFS 2.1 speed is not the same with microSD. Especially if you're recording 4K videos, you need a U3 speed card for that. Even sandisk 400GB is only U1, god knows how much their new extreme U3 version card is gonna cost.

For me, yes. The better speced the phone the better resale value. I keep my phones on average 2 or 3 months as a daily driver so maximizing my return is essential!

If they had said that to me I would have pointed the irony in the statement...
So your telling me th einternal storage is not that big of a deal so I should use an SD card? Yet, its a big enough deal to you make a phone with larger capcity... Things that make you go hmmmmm...

I read somewhere on XDA that not all devices are 2.1!TRUE STORY! If I can find it again I will post here but some are only UFS 2.0 depending on the EMMCS / DRAM MFG.
True Story!

Strange, I just quoted myself...
Anyways... Yes, It appears this is the case for a few different devices including the Note 8 and the S8+ as well as I found some lesser known brands using this crap.
Does anyone know if the 256gb unlocked version will work on Sprint CDMA network?
Can't find any specs on it.
Thanks
