Tmobile users pay attention! All others... Sorry you aren't on the best carrier in the US. Remember the sale tmo ran over the summer for zero down? (before you start arguing, it's actually a great deal. Aside from the fact that it's eisier to put less down and pay a few dollars extra a month, you actually save a little bit, and alot if you do the JUMP thing.)
Anyway, they're doing it again tomorrow, and it includes the note 3. And I called some tmobile stores and they knew what I was talking about and they have the note 3s (in limited stock) ready for tomorow. Go ahead hit my like button. I deserve it!

But then it's $29 per month. I'd rather just pay up front.
This sounds to good to be true. Going to find out tomorrow. There are five tmobile stores within 20 minutes of my house.

But what if you only keep it for one year?
$29 x 12 months = $348
$199 down + $21 x 12 months = $451
There's no way you can lose by taking the $0 down. You will save money no matter what you intend to do. It is 0% financing after all...

Verizons Edge program offers $0 down $29.31 a month for the Note 3 as well....which isnt all that great cause they don't lower your monthly bill,
but they let you upgrade every 6 months as long as your phone is half paid off....which for someoen like myself who has never gone more than 8 months with the same phone...ill prob do it cause ive used all my families upgrades! :silly::silly:

Nope. After 6 months, with Jump, you just give it back and stop paying. Then you get a new phone.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that with JUMP, you have to pay $10 a month and when you're ready to upgrade, you have to turn your phone back in?

I think you have the option of either buying it out or giving it back. So you'd have to weigh your options based on the residual value and current street value. For example if you kept it for 23 months and then wanted to upgrade, it would probably be worth buying it out for the last $29 rather than giving it back at that point.
And Jump includes insurance, which is $8 itself, so really you're only paying $2/month for the ability to upgrade (JUMP itself).

And that's a normal person. If you want to upgrade every 6 months, you get into crazy territory. 174 dollars as opposed to 332.
I'm curious though. I don't think theres any chance that come February, they're going to keep doing these 0 dollar down plans. That's when all the initial jump users will be able jump. they'd be losing a crapload of money if you'd be able to just make payments on brand new phones with no initial payments and then do the same thing after 6 months... although, that is sort of what at&t and verizon are doing... maybe they should do it... I would so rather not put anything down on brand new phones and just pay higher monthly payments... That would mean paying a standard 25-30 dollars a month and getting a new phone every 6 months just for the hell of it.... awesome..

For normal (yearly upgrades) you arent really saving a ton of money but you are going to be able to just get a new phone without the hassle of selling your phone on craigslist and the scams and robberies that can come with the territory and you don't have to keep the phone in immaculate condition. "As long as it boots up, no water damage and no cracked screen, you can jump." That's what John Legere said.

And if it is broken in some way, that's where the insurance would kick in anyway. I'm not 100% clear on how that works yet, but I'm guessing there would just be some deductible involved before you could then "jump."

They made it a little confusing. It looks great in their ads break you phone and jut JUMP! But really it works just like regular insurance. There's a big deductible if you break it. But what's nice is, you arent really paying more for jump. I was paying 12 dollars for insurance on my note 2 before, now i pay 10 for both.

Just a heads up. You won't be walking out without paying anything. With all the down payment plans the tax on the remaining balance is due. So as an example, if it were still $199 down, the tax on the remaining $500 (8.875% x $500= approx $44) would be added to the down payment [$199/tax+$44=$243]. And that's new york sales tax.
Now that its $0 down the tax of the total amount of the phone will be due (8.875%of 703.99=$62.50). So be prepared to pay $70 tomorrow.

Ok, i really have to go to sleep now... But no. You're misinformed, you alway have to pay the full sales tax on the full retail price, it doesn't matter how much you put down. I've looked into this. Even if you weren't going to do the zero down, you were still going to pay the 60-70 dollars in sales tax.

anyways, i called LetsTalk they said it was a system error, and people who got it are lucky but disadvantage is, you CANNOT keep your Unlimited Data plan you have to move to either the 200mb plan or 2gb plan which i think is BS
you got it to so did i but it takes a day or day n half for carrier approval then another day for device to get picked up by fedex or ups and then it comes the next day im getting mine on the 22nd
yup, got my free one too! saweet....arrives tomorrow.
Lol you actually downgraded to get the captivate for free? So bad..
mine was shipped today, i can't wait!!!!
Mine is arriving sometime today. can't wait to go home from work and root it.
and as for downgrading (unlimited to 2gb)... not really. 90% of the time i have wi-fi and when i checked my data usage for the past 6 months it totaled ~15mb and averaged about 2 - 2.5mb a month and i do a lot of browsing and movie watching on my phone. so, i was thinking of downgrading to a cheaper plan anyway

That's horrible. I wouldn't have done that I've usually averaged between 4-5 GB a month with my old iPhone
I shipped out my second replacement yesterday for exchange. I got this e-mail today:
Your order is currently backordered. You will receive another notification when your order is in stock and shipped.
It looks like either 1. They took my individual concerns seriously and are specifically getting one directly from LG for me, or...2. They finally sent back all their units and are receiving a new batch ---hopefully without defects this time.
Will be interesting to hear how your new one is. I had 2 for a time but their build date was only 4 days apart so probably same batch. Both had reboots although I really feel it's still software and not hardware. None of the reviewers who reviewed this phone including cnet and Engadget noted any reboots and they know what they're doing but probably don't load a ton of apps on the review units.

Would be nice if a new batch is coming soon. My tmo rep swears a second batch of phones will take 2 months minimum but we know how reliable info from them is.
You guys know that the 14 days is only for being able to return it and cancel your contract, right? They phone itself has like a 1 year warranty on it.
I keep seeing so many people talking about swapping the phone out for another before their 14 days is up and it confuses me as to why the 14 days really matters just for getting a warranty exchange.

Probably a lot of folks are hoping to get the phones exchanged within 14 days without paying shipping to tmobile (warranty exchange) plus the phones you get from tmobile are usually refurbished unlike store phones which are brand new.

This is how it works:
If you pay $199 w/ contract then you have 14 days to return the phone for a refund less plan minutes used and restocking fee. You can exchange the phone and keep the plan but you will have to pay the difference in price or recieve a refund for the difference.
If you paid retail w/o contract or with flexpay then you have 30 days to return the phone less restocking fee, or exchange for another phone with the same difference policies.
The warranty from LG is 1 year regardless of where you got the phone from, how much you paid, and the $5.99 (soon to be $7.99 once they include a personalized version of Lookout Mobile and free express shipping) Premium Handset Protection Bundle. During this time period you can call into customer care and get an exchange of the same phone less the battery door, battery, and all accessories that came with the phone. After 3 warranty exchanges within 90 days you are eligible for an equivilent exchange. Meaning T-Mo will provide you with a list of phones that you can choose to exchange your handset with. They are supposed to be comparable to the features you have now, but rarely are. When warranty exchanging you may have to pay shipping costs, but in most cases if you raise enough hell about how it's not your fault that the phone isn't working properly they will waive that fee.
I hope this clears up some of the confusion. For the next year every G2x sold is under warranty, and LG must replace it for free...
UNLESS YOU RETURN THE PHONE WITH COSMETIC DAMAGE, WATER DAMAGE, CUSTOM ROMS OR KERNELS, THE WARRANTY SEAL IS BROKEN, ECT... BEFORE YOU WARRANTY EXCHANGE, RETURN THE PHONE TO STOCK! WIPE EVERYTHING! OR ELSE YOU WILL BE CHARGED $130 FOR OUT OF WARRANTY REPLACEMENT!
Say Thank You.

I actually ended up calling Samsung. Wasn't too bad of an experience. They told me repair would be $70.36 including shipping BOTH WAYS (they sent a UPS shipping label). Sounds kinda cheap actually but I figured I'd give it a shot. They said 5-10 business days.
They did say that "if the repair cost more than their quote" (uh-oh) they would contact me first. I did tell them exactly what was wrong.

I Don't understand why you don't simply extend your contract for the $200 or perhaps even less. Then you can sell the phone on ebay for $175.00 so your total out of pocket cost would be only $50 bucks or so counting the ebay selling fees and so on.. Not only would you end up with a brand new phone but you could have it in your hand in 2-3 days perhaps even less.
Why would you rather spend $100-$200 for a repair job? (I doubt you can even find a place which would touch the phone with a problem like you have described)...
Just does not make a whole lotta sence!
OR!!! donate it here for development, or offer to be a tester. Parts maybe? I guess I'm saying there's other things to be done with it if you outright buy a new one.

Repair job from Samsung was quoted as $70.26 including shipping both ways. It's on the way back as I type. Not sure I could have gotten $175 for the bad one considering you can get a new one for $199.

Plus deductible. If you drop a phone and truly break it, it's probably because you didnt have a proper case on a $600 item. But most breaks occur to the digitizer....$30 and extremely easy to fix. Your local mom and pop computer shops will throw those things in for you for less than your deductible.
I'm not trying to knock anyone for paying for insurance...but those companies aren't in it to lose money. And everyone forgets about their warranty. We've sent a couple phones back for repairs and get them back within 3 days of HTC receiving them.
But losing a $600 phone...well that would be the only good thing I can see coming out of it. But cmon...if you lose a $600 phone from being careless ya kind of get what you deserve. Laptops cost less than that now. Gotta hold yourself to some kind of responsibility.
Well, I got my replacement, all is well. Sure, 99 sucks, but got to keep the battery and memory card, so now I have two of each, put the memory card in my flyer.

Can I take it that you got another T-Bolt back? I am in no hurry to split with it although if it breaks in a years time and I am able to get something better the Insurance will be worth it.
Note: I have never used my insurance since I got it on my OG droid.

If you weren't a Bears fan, I would be deeply saddened by this, but the Buccaneers fan in me laughs out loud.
j/k...bummer your screen broke. Glad you got your replacement already!
Well now that you got your replacement phone, this would be a good time for you to do one of those screen replacement kits so that you have a backup phone and then you might decide to even drop your insurance on your current phone to save $$$.
You don't get to keep the old phone, you have to send that back. Otherwise, definately would have fixed the screen and kept as back up.
The title says it all! The woman at AT&T said that the people who pre-order before the second will have the devices at their doorstep on the fourth! I am excited for this forum to be my new home! I hope we have a lot of wonderful Dev support!!!

So if you preorder at your local AT&T store, you won't get it til the 6th? The early delivery is online only?

Really? Normally you get it early if you get it shipped to your home. Stores are generally prohibited from giving you the phone before the release.
EDIT:Yeah, store pickup is the 6th.

Guy in the store said they're getting them in Friday. He said I'd be getting a call Friday when it comes in.

Why preorder? Wouldn't it be a better idea just to wait until May 3rd to see what Samsung has to offer?

Cause they may be like me and not really care what Samsung is gonna offer. Or they are gonna get the One X and get the Samsung later this year when it appears on AT&T

I'm excited for this as well. T-Minus 12 days until I get my One X. So excited I could cry.

Plus if the GS3 has everything you have ever wanted and somehow will hit att in 2 weeks.. you could cancel the preorder
Just got done placing the order in store (white model). I was worried they wouldn't honor the free upgrade fee that I usually get from the website (they did honor it). I did however find out that my $15 (200MB) data plan was no longer available and I would have to go up to the $20 (300MB) plan. Even then they were pressuring me hard to go with the bigger data plan. Told the guy to look at my current usage on the account...which was 20MB so far. Didn't seem to matter to him. Told me he uses 200MB before making it to work in the morning. This is why I like doing everything online. Still, $212 after tax and everything feels about right for this phone. Used it for the first time in the store and loved it!
The manager told me that as soon as the phone arrives at the store he will give me a call and I can get it that day which should be Friday the 4th at the very latest, but expects it much earlier than that.

I got black. While the white looks sexy (my friend has the international version), I prefer the black.
I was debating whether to wait t see what sammy has to offer on the third, however:
1) my HTC Aria is really starting to show its age
2) while the phone may be announced on the third, they may not even mention when it will be coming to the US; and I'm not about to wait around for six months unsure if it will even come to AT&T.
3) there is no guarantee that the SIII will be available at the steal of a price that the One X will is
4) If by chance that all of these factors fall in favor of the SIII, one can always return the One X, fight the re-stocking fee and pick up the SIII
P.S. I just ordered these two items from Amazon. This phone needs to be protected incredibly well because when I ride my motorcycle, the phone goes in the jacket pocket with all of my other belongings...
Case
Screen Protector
Did anyone order a case and/or a screen protector in advance? I'd like to know what the options are! I personally am a favor of TPU. Keeps the bulk down, yet does the job.

Tried to place an order on the AT&T website twice in the past hour, but when I click to upgrade phone, the website has an error and can't process the request. It was working fine this morning (didn't have time to pre-order, just looked at it)
Im not much in to preordering but I plan on getting this phone, I went to my local store a couple hours ago and they dont have any on display, hell they barely even knew what I was talking about lol which is weird since they did announce it being preordered.

I just noticed this line in my upgrade pre-order confirmation:
You have chosen to upgrade your device with no-commit pricing. Please note, SIM cards are not included with no-commitment orders. If you need a new SIM card, please place your order at a store near you, or by phone at 1-888-333-6651.

So I guess no micro-SIM in the box for me... Hopefully the store can take care of that for me... Does anyone know how funny they would be "upgrading" my plan from my 4gb tether data plan to the LTE 5 GB tether plan? It won't let me do it online...
