mk808b increasing wifi strength without soldering - Android Stick & Console Computers General

hi dudes,
the mk808 is a well known for its bad wifi signal.
u can increase your wifi strength by a strainer.
it really works! no jokes. now i can watch youtube vids without lags or using splashtop.
u can hide the stick with the strainer behind the tv or the monitor screen. so it is not so ugly.
cheers

And of course it works just as well for any device. My wife makes me put it away when we have company.

htc and wifi's

From what ive noticed htc devices have weak wifi receptions. Unlike motorola i can be in my garage and still grab fair signal. With htc nothing even when im about to enter the garage. Do you guys think htc puts weak wifi antennas in our phones?
Wrong forum my friend.
Please move to general.

Under advanced WiFi settings there's a setting for best WiFi performance, might help a little.

Advanced settings didnt work....i guess htc just has cheap antennas....
Not with my phone. My phone switches to my wifi when I'm coming down the road. Of course it is weak until I am near my house, then it is fair. Inside my home it is strong. I am running wireless N and have the router at the front of the home. I also have no interference from neighbors since none have wifi.

[REQUEST] Upload Large Videos to YouTube over 4G rather than WiFi

What is the point of the 4G network if I can't use it. First off all the only way I can share my high quality videos is YouTube. Second I can't upload them to YouTube without having WiFi access.
I'm at college where the WiFi signal is horrible so I was wondering if someone had a work around or a hack that could allow me to upload my "large" video to Youtube over 4G (it's less than a minute of 720p recording).
Thanks for any help.
Tether to your laptop and upload it that way.

Youtube app needs fixed. It's broke. I get errors saying I can't upload files bigger than 1GB when my file is like 500MB.

I never went to college but i'm shocked to here yours has poor wifi. don't they hardwire the dorms with ethernet and you can use your own router?

The dorms here have terrible wifi, they cap the speeds so you might get 3 megabits down/up. ethernet is the same, and they don't let you use your own routers here. some schools are picky.
also just log into youtube, click "mobile setup" and send your videos to the email they give you.

HBO GO App on Android Market

Alright... So I am a little miffed that I can't watch Netflix on this brilliant phone. That said, I am now in heaven. While perusing facebook's OZ page, I noticed a thread indicating that the complete OZ series was available on the Droid via the app I tried it and after logging in with my Directv credentials I have access to an extensive library of movies, original series, documentaries, late night (lol), concerts... you name it!. I now have every season of OZ at my fingertips!!
The people that don't rate it well are upset because it's not yet made to work on their specific model phones. Works excellente on the Infuse though!
Of course you know I had to try the HDMI out as well. It works!!! The one drawback is that it appears to simply output the formatting as it appears on the Infuse screen. That transfers to a standard def experience on the big screen but it is perfectly viewable. That said, it looks great on the Infuse screen and streams perfectly over 4G.
Hooray for not letting go of unlimited data plans.

Great Find!!!! I don't have DTV but still sounds awesome!!! Now get a HDelight by Brite View and you would be leaning back on the couch doing this!
I just watched the first ever episode of The Wire from 2002 in bed with my headphones on. Excellent! One hour watching without being connected to a power source took me from 94% battery to 70%. Not bad at all.

My video streams are of very high quality. The quality is equivalent to the data speed and will adjust on the fly accordingly while watching a movie/show. Also, I plug in headphones.. the big ghetto ear covering type.. Sounds great.
I installed the HBO Go app last night and in the comfort of my bed watched "Green Zone" with Matt Damon using my home wifi, no issues, adjusted to signal fluctuations, pretty good movie too, has my Beats by Dre headphones on, crystal clear sound, this app is a A+ in my book.
I wish I had HBO.

Does this phone have bad Bluetooth ??

I'm curious to find out if anyone has issues with Bluetooth. I just spent a decent amount for a high quality Bluetooth stereo headset so I can listen to music while jogging or bike riding with no wires, and for some reason I can't seem to get good signal with it unless the phone is less than a foot away. I know the WiFi in this phone sucks completely, so I was curious if the Bluetooth sucked too.

your antenna or something must be broken if you have to be that close
It sounds like all around you need a new phone, I have never used Bluetooth but from the sounds of it there are internal problems

i got the motorola S10-HD bluetooth stereo headset and they barely connect to the device. but i heard if your on CM you should be ok with it. idk y but htc sense doesnt have the greatest radio for bluetooth in my opinion. i tested it on 5 phones, and only htc phones i had issues with.

Make sure the headset supports A2DP and Bluetooth 3.0.
I am able to stream shoutcast over 3g/bluetooth from my phone to my Pioneer DEH-P9800BT no problem.
I just got a new bluetooth 3.0 set from Fry's for like $30 and it has been working fine. Haven't tried music streaming yet.

I have some issues with connecting and have to repair everytime but not sure if that's my kernel or cm7 or the headset itself. Will check later.
I'm on cm nightlie and have my issue....have tried different nightlies with same issue...but haven't tried other peoples roms cause their still based on cm7... mines support ap2d not sure about Bluetooth 3.0....

Tell me some good uses of a Xperia L without network connectivity

So you guessed it right from the title, my Xperia L doesn't have network connectivity or a very weak one thanks to an idiot local mechanic who f*cked it up trying to fix lose USB port. Now I am not even getting deals for this phone as no other mechanic is able to fix this thing.
So I want to know some good uses I can make out of this phone other than my kernel development!
Using it to play songs through AUX cable is one use I found but would like to know what you guys think.
eBay. Or download the manual for it and fix it.

The title says ,,Tell me some good uses of a Xperia L without network connectivity,,......
So WiFi still works? , or is it both 3G & WiFi? If the WiFi still works and you have a Chromecast, use it as a remote for Youtube/Netflix/HBOGO playback on Chromecast.
Wait for Flipkart Exchange offer and Exchange it.
You will get atleast 4k ~5k

I think you went to a Butcher rather than a mechanic!
Anyway, it's a long shot, but have you tried dismantling the phone yourself? what may have happened is that the antenna might have come loose i.e the contact to the cable or the cable itself. if you can stablise it or repair the contact, it may give you full connectivity again!
