HBO GO App on Android Market - Samsung Infuse 4G

Alright... So I am a little miffed that I can't watch Netflix on this brilliant phone. That said, I am now in heaven. While perusing facebook's OZ page, I noticed a thread indicating that the complete OZ series was available on the Droid via the app I tried it and after logging in with my Directv credentials I have access to an extensive library of movies, original series, documentaries, late night (lol), concerts... you name it!. I now have every season of OZ at my fingertips!!
The people that don't rate it well are upset because it's not yet made to work on their specific model phones. Works excellente on the Infuse though!
Of course you know I had to try the HDMI out as well. It works!!! The one drawback is that it appears to simply output the formatting as it appears on the Infuse screen. That transfers to a standard def experience on the big screen but it is perfectly viewable. That said, it looks great on the Infuse screen and streams perfectly over 4G.
Hooray for not letting go of unlimited data plans.

Great Find!!!! I don't have DTV but still sounds awesome!!! Now get a HDelight by Brite View and you would be leaning back on the couch doing this!

I just watched the first ever episode of The Wire from 2002 in bed with my headphones on. Excellent! One hour watching without being connected to a power source took me from 94% battery to 70%. Not bad at all.

does it need to run off of data or can it be ran off of WiFi so it'll be free instead of using your data?

Either or both works

My video streams are of very high quality. The quality is equivalent to the data speed and will adjust on the fly accordingly while watching a movie/show. Also, I plug in headphones.. the big ghetto ear covering type.. Sounds great.

I installed the HBO Go app last night and in the comfort of my bed watched "Green Zone" with Matt Damon using my home wifi, no issues, adjusted to signal fluctuations, pretty good movie too, has my Beats by Dre headphones on, crystal clear sound, this app is a A+ in my book.

I wish I had HBO.

[Q] using phone and TF as a video monitoring system

Is there an app that will allow you to place your phone somewhere and use your TF as a monitor in real time (seeing what the phone's camera sees?
There are plenty of ip webcam apps in the market.
droidcam
ip webcam
icam
tiny cam monitor
qik doe live streaming from phone to web aslo
sent from my LEE Pad Transformer........I wish
Thank you both very much....I'll check them all out....
Who are you creeping on?
Lol...no creeping...just messing around with my new TF....
I've done this using ipwebcam (from market) running on my nexus one and tiny cam monitor (from market) running on my tf. Works great and quality is pretty decent. I used it to spy on my dog.

That IP Webcam app is decent. Been trying to use it to remotely monitor some newborn puppies. I prefer to just put a password up and use the TF's web browser to view in javascript.
I'd like a way to prolong my phones battery though. The phone gets too hot when plugged in via charger. I tried selecting the option to allow it to switch off the screen, as that gobbles a lot of power. Unfortunately this stops it broadcasting. I have my phone so it keeps the wifi on when the screen is off, but cant find out whether its switching off the camera, the cpu, or what its doing when the screen goes off.
Anyone know of an app to keep things alive when the screen is off please?

lol - we all thought it but you said it.
Well,
Ipwebcam and tiny cam monitor didn't work because I'm at work and I think that there is a problem with the ips or ports or something...it hung on "camera loading."

LOL! What did you find out?
I have a linksys web cam that allows me to view on a dyndns site. It's all black in the cam box. It does require activex installation so I don't know if that is the issue with TF browser and if it's possible at all to have add-on.

[Q] Google Music

I applied for an invitation weeks ago but never got one. Any one had any luck with this? Just wondering what the success rate is.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
boo
I got my invite a few days ago and uploaded all my music. The app is VERY buggy (still in beta). I had to resign into the app with my google account almost every time it loaded. I also noticed it would randomly connect to the network and sync 100MB of stuff at a time. I used up about 600MB in 3 days! That's a lot when you only have 2GB for the whole month.
And yes, I had the setting in the app to download only when connected to wifi checked on.
i got mine. i applied hours after its announcement. took quite a while for it to come in. im not sure its worth it though. syncing isnt smooth, it takes minutes to upload and download one song, you cant upload straight to the website like amazons cloud player. it has some potential and it fits in nicely with googles services, but dont worry, youre not missing much right now.
I got invited a day after I applied, which was about a week after it was announced.
Been using and loving it since. Enough that I might pay for it, which I initially scoffed at.

I got mine maybe a month later i think.
its pretty good.
still use pandora though.

I think I signed up around the time you did. I JUST got the email yesterday. Haven't tried it out though.
Sent from the most interesting device in the world.
I applied the day it was announced and got it not too long afterwards.
I like it a lot, but my biggest complaint is that when I play an entire album (which I almost always do) from the album screen. The issue is it plays the first song, and then play bar fills, and instead of advancing to the next song, it restarts the first song, the timer keeps counting and it doesn't advance. After I manually advance the first song, everything else plays normally.
Other than that, my upload was slow, but its all up there now and streaming fine to my PC and my phone when it wants to.
Finally got it

Lmao why would you need an app to pay attention for you while you should be estimating the distance and training your brain at the same time.

I think its mostly for distracted drivers who are "tapatalk"ing while driving
I think it's a good tool for those learning to drive, the point isn't too watch the app more to listen out for it, it has a display so the app can judge the distance and what not, it has audio warning sounds fit various things (ie. being too close to other cars, the other lane, and you can set a speed limit that it will alert you if your close to exceeding or if you have exceeded), I personally think I'd a great tool, just wish it worked better when on dash instead of windshield, didn't see enough of the road if it's on the dash in my firebird
You can also set it so it alerts you while your listening to music or using GPS ect

Uses for a retired Thunderbolt

I upgraded to the Droid DNA yesterday so my loyal thunderbolt has been decommissioned. It's still a fairly powerful phone and without a data connection the battery lasts a long time. So I'm wondering if there are any existing methods of repurposing the phone to extend it's lifespan.
For example, how cool would it be to have it act as a streaming media server through it's own Wi-Fi network? I mean, my DNA only has room for 11GB while my thunderbolt has a 32GB card sitting idle. It would be awesome to load up a bunch of 1080p movies and stream them to my DNA. Can this be done?

I use mine as a dedicated player for Movies and TV shows, plugged into a JBL OnStage. It's set up as a mobile station for when I get ready in the morning.
Sent from my HTC Rezound, rooted with S-OFF on Verizon's periodically blazing fast and mostly reliable 4G LTE Network
Utilize it as a phone including SMS over WIFI using Google Voice and Groove IP.
use it as a paper weight jk haha just keep it for a back up. you never know what may happen to your DNA. I wouldnt even want to imagine what your DNA would do if you dropped in outside on the concrete or a hard surface. ouch

I still have two (mine and my wife's) that our kids now use as wifi devices. I thought about selling them originally, but they're much better devices than their 3rd gen iPod touches since they have bigger screens and front and rear cameras. As wifi only devices, battery life is fairly good. They're basically like little tablets so I think they're worth keeping around, unless you need around $100 to put toward something else.
I upgraded from the thunderbolt to the DNA as well, I listed mine on eBay (including an extra screen protector, usb charger, extra battery, and oem phone case) and sold it for $140.

Is it worth it?

So I've been looking at the smart watches and just wondering if they are really worth the money. I have an s3 so what features would it really have? Thanks

well i can talk only with my experience.
first of all i bought it because i need a good tool to pass through tracks in spotify without having to take out of the trausers and open the phone each time.
Then i also bought it coz i can't be all the day looking at my phone. with it i can just see which whatsapp notifications are important enough to answer.
when i had it i noticed that it also have twitter but i dt use it a lot.
the other apps for me are not very important.
hope that this small "review" helped somehow

Ok thanks man, I was gonna get one for simple, don't need to pull out the phone use. Seems like it's the watch to get, thanks again.

If you use Instant Messaging and Social apps, these are perfect.
Since you will always wear it(I assume), it will push to you notifications you would need.
There are also apps made for it(GPS Map, Calendar, Sports Trackers, etc.) that makes it better.
Can we have heart rate monitoring with the watch (with or without an ant+ band?)
I won mine at the XDA Devcon in Miami. I love it. I was missing calls from being away from my desk and the phone on silent. Now I don't. It rocks.

The best Feature is the GPS Map
Actually I would not leave the house without this clock!
So I am new here, however, I have been thinking of the idea of a smart watch or band, " the quotes, or in thought of...
But seems more lately watches are a thing of the past like in the movie apprenticeship, more people use their phones for checking time or setting alarms,
I do like the nfc enable features I.E phone music streaming, media playback, pedometer, so on, is Sony the brand to go with in that aspect?
