Lmao why would you need an app to pay attention for you while you should be estimating the distance and training your brain at the same time.

I think its mostly for distracted drivers who are "tapatalk"ing while driving
I think it's a good tool for those learning to drive, the point isn't too watch the app more to listen out for it, it has a display so the app can judge the distance and what not, it has audio warning sounds fit various things (ie. being too close to other cars, the other lane, and you can set a speed limit that it will alert you if your close to exceeding or if you have exceeded), I personally think I'd a great tool, just wish it worked better when on dash instead of windshield, didn't see enough of the road if it's on the dash in my firebird
You can also set it so it alerts you while your listening to music or using GPS ect

Right. I am actually planning to set up this app for my wife on her car, esp considering she is a learner.

I just walked about half a football field or more away from my phone with wireless tether(barnacle) turned on and got signal the whole way pulling 700kbps+ down on my iPod touch. Is this normal? Cus I can walk 2 rooms over in my house and lose wifi on my laptop on home network.

Being in a wide open field is a lot different than house. Your walls could have insulation, wiring and other materials that interfere with a WiFi signal.

I know right, I was shocked at the distance. Wasn't wide open field either phone was in dumptruck at work and had a couple dumptrucks between me and phone when testing this. The trucks definately interfered with signal when I stood right next to them.

Alright... So I am a little miffed that I can't watch Netflix on this brilliant phone. That said, I am now in heaven. While perusing facebook's OZ page, I noticed a thread indicating that the complete OZ series was available on the Droid via the app I tried it and after logging in with my Directv credentials I have access to an extensive library of movies, original series, documentaries, late night (lol), concerts... you name it!. I now have every season of OZ at my fingertips!!
The people that don't rate it well are upset because it's not yet made to work on their specific model phones. Works excellente on the Infuse though!
Of course you know I had to try the HDMI out as well. It works!!! The one drawback is that it appears to simply output the formatting as it appears on the Infuse screen. That transfers to a standard def experience on the big screen but it is perfectly viewable. That said, it looks great on the Infuse screen and streams perfectly over 4G.
Hooray for not letting go of unlimited data plans.

Great Find!!!! I don't have DTV but still sounds awesome!!! Now get a HDelight by Brite View and you would be leaning back on the couch doing this!
I just watched the first ever episode of The Wire from 2002 in bed with my headphones on. Excellent! One hour watching without being connected to a power source took me from 94% battery to 70%. Not bad at all.

does it need to run off of data or can it be ran off of WiFi so it'll be free instead of using your data?
Either or both works

My video streams are of very high quality. The quality is equivalent to the data speed and will adjust on the fly accordingly while watching a movie/show. Also, I plug in headphones.. the big ghetto ear covering type.. Sounds great.
I installed the HBO Go app last night and in the comfort of my bed watched "Green Zone" with Matt Damon using my home wifi, no issues, adjusted to signal fluctuations, pretty good movie too, has my Beats by Dre headphones on, crystal clear sound, this app is a A+ in my book.
I wish I had HBO.

Hello All,
I am a high school math teacher considering the purchase of this for classroom usage. My goal is to wirelessly connect to my desktop PC and run my windows software from the tablet (using Jump Desktop or something similar). I will be controlling a program called SMART Notebook. My question is this: the only reason I really want this tablet over many others is the accuracy of the S Pen, which will be awesome for writing equations and such. However, will the S Pen even work while using those remote desktop control apps? I've heard people say it only works for a hand full of apps. If this is true, I would not purchase this tablet. Other tablets just are so unresponsive with styli that I've tried. It's very frustrating. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
In case this is a tl;dr situation:
Will the S pen function smoothly and accurately in an app such as Jump Desktop or any other app where you remote access a PC?

U do know that the s note app automatically does math formulas and equations. Actually works pretty cool. Just to play around I wrote up a bunch of fake equations and it figured it out

Somehow i think you unresponsiveness issue is not coming from tablet itself but the network you used to connect both device... if that's the case note 10.1 wont be any help either...

I was testing the tablets with no network connection. I was just testing the accuracy of writing with various styli on various tablets. I didn't have an opportunity to try the whole PC remote control setup in the store.
Is it just me? Do I suck at using styli? Haha. I couldn't get things to write correctly. It would always miss spots in my numbers and stuff. As if you're writing in pen and it is running out of ink.

What is the right way to use Google now when traveling? Ie how do I set it up to keep me posted on flight info? I read that searching for a flight number will do it but how does it know what the date is? Flight numbers repeat daily and searching by flight number and date returns no results. Same question regarding hotels. If I'm flying somewhere how does it know when and where and when to alert me of the hotel directions? I read somewhere it is reading email confirmations but I'm not sure.

It tells you today’s weather before you start your day, how much traffic to expect before you leave for work, when the next train will arrive as you’re standing on the platform, or your favorite team's score while they’re playing. And the best part? All of this happens automatically. Cards appear throughout the day at the moment you need them. Its basically a smart little assistant for your phone only works with jelly bean phones and ics root with a rom I just got it but I really don't like it to be honest

I'm asking specifically about travel, airports, hotel, etc.
Well when u travel it uses the card cause it know ur in a car traveling it tells u short cuts how to avoid traffic jams and wrecks, at airport the airport card knows to come up because of you location settings it goes on the map and knows where ur at that's how it knows wat card to bring up, so when u get to an airport it tells u about your flight if you have one or other flights and delays such as u waiting on someone, for hotels it give you ratings prices better deals. Like I said its just like an assistant that learns from your everyday life route and plans and its there to help u with everything instead of looking for info just click on the app and it'll give you wat you need

First off, I've found those functions to work best if you're either a) doing everything from your phone or b) searching on your desktop while logged into Google with the same Google ID you've linked to your phone.
From there, it's pretty much just automatic. And sometimes a little creepy. Oh...also helps if your flight confirmations, itineraries, hotel info, etc is going to the same gmail account as whatever you've linked to your phone. For various purposes, Google Now processes a combination of your web history & email inbox.
It'll use current location for the starting point of any projected drives, & for the weather reports.
So I've been looking at the smart watches and just wondering if they are really worth the money. I have an s3 so what features would it really have? Thanks

well i can talk only with my experience.
first of all i bought it because i need a good tool to pass through tracks in spotify without having to take out of the trausers and open the phone each time.
Then i also bought it coz i can't be all the day looking at my phone. with it i can just see which whatsapp notifications are important enough to answer.
when i had it i noticed that it also have twitter but i dt use it a lot.
the other apps for me are not very important.
hope that this small "review" helped somehow

If you use Instant Messaging and Social apps, these are perfect.
Since you will always wear it(I assume), it will push to you notifications you would need.
There are also apps made for it(GPS Map, Calendar, Sports Trackers, etc.) that makes it better.
Can we have heart rate monitoring with the watch (with or without an ant+ band?)
I won mine at the XDA Devcon in Miami. I love it. I was missing calls from being away from my desk and the phone on silent. Now I don't. It rocks.

The best Feature is the GPS Map
Actually I would not leave the house without this clock!
So I am new here, however, I have been thinking of the idea of a smart watch or band, " the quotes, or in thought of...
But seems more lately watches are a thing of the past like in the movie apprenticeship, more people use their phones for checking time or setting alarms,
I do like the nfc enable features I.E phone music streaming, media playback, pedometer, so on, is Sony the brand to go with in that aspect?
