Touchless controls not opening apps - Droid Ultra Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So usually touchless controls works to open apps, but after the latest update it very rarely does and usually requires uninstall and reinstall to get it to work once then it quits working again. The most I get is the app google play card with a big fat "Google Play" button instead of the blue loading bar that will eventually open the app. Also some apps like Pandora go to the end of the loading bar and do nothing, as well clicking "open" does nothing on that either. Anyone else with these issues?

Never got that to work for me.

I have no problem. I use it to open ingress while driving. i use the phrase "open app" then the name of the app

I've tried to get pandora to open and it goes as far as saying "opening app..." the blue line starts and finishes and then ....nothing.

[Q] Music app update problem

The market shows that there's an update available for the Music app, but when I choose the "Update" button, I get a brief dialog pop-up with the title "Allow Access" (just like the normal permission's dialog, but with no content other than the blue progress circle), which goes away after half a second, and the app is never updated.
How can I get this app updated? It's rather annoying seeing it in the "Updates" section of My Apps....
My first thought was to un-install and re-install it, but because it's a built-in app I don't have that option.
I had the same issue. A reboot fixed it.
..same issue here too
Gave the TF a reboot and was then able to update 'Music' to v3.0.1
Ah yes, a reboot fixed it, thanks.
As a fan of the IT Crowd, I don't know why I didn't do that first...

Problems downloading apps from Google Play.

I'm trying to download apps from Google Play without success. So, as an example, I try to download Skype. When I get the web page and Google Play, it has a pull down for what device to install it on. If I click on that arrow, it says "Samsung GT-N8013", but it is greyed out so I can't select it. This means that the INSTALL button continues to stay greyed out and I can't install it. The same thing happens with all the apps I've tried so far. Anyone know why this could be happening? Thanks!

Market Authorization Message..

I get an error message in the notification window every time I sign into the Play Store after flashing a new rom. It tells me to click the notification to re-sign in. When I click it nothing happens and the only way it goes away is if I hit the close all button in the notification window. Even with the error everything syncs fine and it never comes up again after I close it out. Anyone else seeing this?
I've also noticed something else. After every new rom flash I go to download Titanium Backup. I search for it and when the results come up it shows that I haven't purchased the pro version (which I have). I have to go into settings and force stop the app and then it shows my purchases just fine. I'm thinking maybe that's why the error comes up? This has only started happening recently.

Google Search starts slowly on CM11

I hid the search bar on Trebuchet. Google Now is disabled, tool. When I swipe up from the home button to open the Google search, it takes one or two seconds (which is really long in daily use) until the search window appears. When I repeat this shortly after, it starts instantly. I seems to be still loaded in RAM or something.
I remember the search window opened always instantly sometime ago. Has there been an update? Or does anybody know how to run Google search in the Background without the search bar? Or can someon verify this behaviour on his Nexus at least?

How to figure out what app is calling media / Complete action using prompt

I am constantly getting the "complete action using" prompt coming up, and it is giving me plex, spotify, youtube, google play, play books, etc ... seems to be trying to call a media file of some sort, but when I 'just once' it, the app comes up and nothing gets played. It was annoying at first and usually a reboot would make it go away for a while, but today it is constantly popping up and making the phone unusable.
I have searched and searched and I can't for the life of me figure out how to find out what application is calling the media call and popping up the chooser?
I boot into safe mode and it does not occur, so I know it has to be a third party app. Ideas??
