CM10.1 Installation Gone bad..Help Please!!! - HTC Desire S

Hello Guys!
I was experimenting with my HTC Desire S to install CM10.1 ROM however something went wrong during the process and now its in bad state. I rooted it and it has TWRP installed, after the CM10.1 installation, it can not fully start the operating system and hangs.
I tried to restore to previous State using TWRP-> Restore option but that is also not working and it takes me back to TWRP after saying successfully restored.
Any pointers where should I start looking so that atleast I can bring it to running state. Any help will be much appreciated .
Thanks,

Put another rom on to your SD card and flash that in recovery, making sure you do a full wipe first. I would recommend 4ext recovery as well.

Are u s-on unlocked bootloader or are u s-off? If ur s-on then u need to flash the boot.img after u flash the rom.

[Q] How to remove custom rom?

Hi guys,
I installed the Android Revolution rom for my HTC Desire HD this morning, just to test it. Works great, but, I want to remove it and get back to my original HTC rom. However, when I try to restore the backup with the Rom Manager the phone will boot and get stuck at the HTC bootloader (the HTC image). Also I tried different options when I did a hard reset, but nothing seems to work.
Do you have any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Dirk
There have been some problems with the latest version of Clockworkmod recovery. If this is what you have been using it it may be worth trying a previous version of it and then trying your backup restore again.
Thnx for the reply!
I used Rom Manager for backup and restore. From the author Clockworkmod. Is that the same?
Why not flash a stock rom and push it to sdcard to flash?

I am looking for a stock but can't find it. I was hoping there was a nice way to just remove the custom rom and restore my old backup.
Look for instructions on how to flash Odin.
Odin is only for Samsung?

selected update in bootloader now it wont boot up

HI i accidentally hit a sudden update prompt that appeared i the bootloader and now the device wont reboot .
not even after restore .
what do i do?
hoping for quick response .
You need to provide more information, the device won't "reboot"? Reboot or Boot up? As of right now, I'm understanding that you're just STUCK in bootloader and can't reboot... and what is this restore? I've absolutely no idea what you've done to your phone to help rectify the issue, I doubt many others could either. I'm thinking maybe you did the 3.24 firmware update, that's why the restore won't work. But who does an update without having any idea...?
well i was trying to flash the once1csv11 and it would not boot ,so then i restored the original backup and added the pg58img.zip to the sd card and and booted the bootloader and that when it prompted me with the update message and i accidentally hit yes instead of no so then the update started and finished and when i triad to reboot it just gets to the bootanimation and reboots , so then i went into recovery and did a full wipe and restored the backup again but it still wont boot.
I agree we need more information, what update did you install, can you access recovery?

What was the PG58IMG?

I guess that you've installed 3.24 firmware and now trying to boot GB ROM. Is that correct? What ROM have you restored and currently trying to boot? What have you accidently flashed? Was that firmware v3.24? If my guess is correct, flash 3.12 firmware from this topic and it should boot.

[Q] Rooting my friends phone.. bricked?

I really need help here guys. I am rooting my friends HTC Sensation 4G (T-Mobile) and I think i might have broken the OS.
I can still get into recovery mode and flash, but my ROMs crash as soon as I boot. The phone even runs into a boot loop sometimes depending on which ROM. Can anybody guide me to bring the phone back to stock? I would GREATLY appreciate it.

I rooted the phone, installed supersu (fine up until now) .. Created a backup via CWM and tried to flash Cyanogen mod. I realized it failed and so i went back to wipe (factory reset, cache, and dalvik cache) and went to restore my backup. The back up passes but is not 100% working due to some missing files in the system. I am also running HBOOT - 1.17.1111

Yes, it say's S-OFF at the top. I also already used revolutionary to achieve S-OFF and get CWM... Now what? I still can't do anything.. Do i flash ICS? What ROM do you recommend? Please, show me steps if that is possible.

Hi,
I gave you a GB ROM to flash.
That should get your phone running again.
Then, I gave you a link to a guide which will install 4 EXT recovery, update your firmware and radio, and install ARHD ICS ROM.
Please read the link carefully, and follow it to the letter.

I tried that, and it failed on me. It bootloops on the HTC logo now. I need to return this phone to my friend by tomorrow.
I don't know if this is too much to ask, but would anybody mind assisting me through a google hangouts video chat? I could do it tomorrow at about 4PM. I really need to get this fixed.... Like bad.
Wipe the phone. Then Flash the original OS with Odin. Problem solved, then try rooting again

[Q] Question about S-On and restoring a backup

So, I have S-On and the newer Hboot (1.14 I believe), and I had a quick question about TWRP restores and fastboot.
Normally, the process of flashing a new ROM means that I go into fastboot and flash the boot.img first, then go back into TWRP to flash the ROM.
However, what if this happens:
1. backup the ROM that I'm currently on (which is, say AOKP)
2. flash to a new ROM using fastboot boot.img and TWRP (this ROM is Sense-based)
Now, I decide I liked my old AOKP rom better. Can I just go into TWRP and click on restore? Or do I have to do something else first?
You need to also flash the boot.img for the ROM you are restoring to.

Well if its on your sd card click install then go to file, if its nandriod then use restore and re flash img. I strongly suggest you do s off , process is easy if you read the thread and follow instructions

Most of the time there is no need to re-flash firmware. Did you wipe data beforehand? maybe you can try another build (the from an earlier/later date). This might help.
Sometimes a complete wipe is needed...
Hi,
Sometimes when moving from one ROM to another a complete wipe and format of all partitions (except sdcard) is needed in order for it to work. Have you wiped and formatted all your partitions before flashing the ROM? I use Titanium pro to backup my apps before doing this.
You should be able to do this with any of the recovery programs. 4EXT is really good and easy to use for this. Also, if you don't already know this, you should flash the correct GAPPS for your ROM after you install the update. That way you will have everything you need on your first boot after your flash.
Good luck!
when i updated my firmware from 3.32 to 3.33 i got stuck at the same screen. Just booted to recovery and used 4EXT Recovery touch to wipe cache and dalvik, after that everything was fine
