Hey XDA,
I'm still a newbie when it comes to android.
I really want to root my Xperia J, because it worked well on my Galaxy Ace anyways i sold my Ace and bought my self a Xperia J but i cant manage to Root my Device,
My Firmware Jellybean 4.1
11.2.A.0.31
Can i do it without Unlocking my bootloader
I tried DooMLords v17 one but it says Error over flow cleaning or something like that.
Search for frama root in google. It does not require to unlock bootloader ..
Download n run.. You are ready to go
Thank me if i helped
My current device : xperia e c1604(xperia e dual)

For that you have to keep screen alive while the rooting process is going on! And also tick USB Debugging on!
Try again if you fail once or twice!
Best luck
Hit thanks if i helped! It wont take much time

Use UnlockRoot or SuperOneclick, then check with Root Checker app If it works please say thanks )
Doomlord kit must work, if it doesn't then you're doing something wrong. Did you install adb drivers? Did you allow usb debugging and unknown sources?

Done all that, DooMLord kit says 'Error file over flow'
Hmm, strange. Doomlord's tool should work, it has even been confirmed that your device, and firmware is supported! Perhaps http://cydiaimpactor.com or http://srsroot.com ?
You can try those two, it won't hurt your device if they fail.
Then make sure that only your device is connected to usb and try few times, because for me it usually takes two times for it to work.

Try UnlockRootPro it does root your device even when he bootloader is locked.. With ease! Make sure you've USB debugging enabled while you connect your phone to pc! It did work for me fine!! Try and post the result
Thanks me if I helped you :thumbup:

Can it actually be unlocked??? It a 11w52 device and as I know you can unlock the bootloader with unofficial ways till 12w14. Thanks in advance.

Does have any of you some method (i mean program) how to root Xperia J JB 4.1.2 firmaware 11.2.A.0.21 BUT WITHOUT flashing and unlocking bootloader? Something like UnlockRoot, Root with Restore by Bin4ry v25 or Super One Click. Note: these three do not work!!!

+1 for that! I would like this also. My bootloader cannot be unlocked, and I really don't want to go through the all-process of downgrading to ICS, rooting, updating via OTA, flashing etc.
Is this working ?
Just a clean install of 11.0.A.7.5 firmware --> root with unlockroot --> (only) OTA upgrade to 11.2.A.0.21.
This way you'll have JB rooted!

I don't know how can you do that just like that? I root ICS when there was latest update 11.0a.7.5 and one day i reflash ftf file because I delete some important system apps, after that my phone was unrooted
Anyway I have rooted JB!

But how to downgrade? Do you have manual? Because every manula I found requires unlocking bootloader and I can´t do that because service menu says NO. I´m just looking for some once-click utility...

Hi!
I have an idea which could work (possibly ), if we (someone) can port a cwm that is made for another device for locked bootloader like Xperia Z then could we successfully make it work. This works on a locked bootloader because instead of installing cwm on the boot partition as you would normally do with an unlocked bootloader, you would install it on the system partition.
You can do this for many other devices so could some devs possibly port cwm.
Thanks!
Nice !!. I am looking for exactly this... Please devs try something please!
HIT THE THANKS BUTTON IF I WAS OF ANY HELP

i am a junior too. got my phone 2 months ago and i am not a developer, even though i have some IT expertise. up until now, i messed up the android on this phone probably 20 times and reinstalled it everytime in a couple of minutes. i have tested lots of roms and kernels, some of them several times over and my impression is it's difficult to really brick it. maybe not having a charged battery while flashing, but that never happened to me.
try installing clockwork mod recovery after rooting, because it's really useful. then use extensively the backup it provides, before flashing something.
otherwise, follow the forums. these guys know what they do.
Thnaks it really helped
