Okay, I have flashed my HTC Touch Pro 2. I didnt install the android software. Where do I get that from and what verison do I get? I am trying to do the dual windows and android on my Sprint Touch Pro 2. Can anyone help me out? I would really appreciate it. I do not think I am lost but surely feel like it.
you cant flash android to your device (yet?) but you can get it in cab form now to launch off of an SD card.
I recently purchased a new HTC 7 Pro T7576 and am looking to unlock it to install the root tools.
I have spent several days trying to read up about unlocking prior to posting in this thread, but have not had much luck.
Based on my research, I understand that there exist several different type of unlocks. For the work I'd like to do with this device, I require that root tools are installed and understand that the INTEROP unlock would suffice for this as the tools are not native tools.
I have followed most of the instruction online with out much luck for setting up the device yet. The details of the device are:
Name: HTC 7 Pro T7576
Software: Windows Phone 7.5
OS version: 7.10.8107.79
Firmware rev number: 2250.21.51202.111
Radio software version: 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
Radio hardware version: A.102.0.D4
Boot loader version: 2.2.5.0
The steps I've taken thus far are to take a backup of the device using zune, download the HTC_Interop_Unlock.xap and tried to install it using XAPDeployX-v0.9.
The error message I get back is:
Deployment FAILED with the following ERROR:
Failed to connect to device as it is developer locked. For details on developer unlock, visit http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=195284.
Is there any luck for this device?
Thanks!
Based on some additional reading... I would require to flash the boot loader and put a custom rom.
Can anyone confirm?
After several days of research, it appears that the Interop method does not work any more.
Additionally, can someone provide some direction? I'm looking to flash but the instructions aren't clear and I don't want to brick my device.
Thanks.
Any tips from anyone? I'm trying not to avoid bricking my device.
ANy help would be greatly appreciated.
My journey for unlocking this device is still moving forward.
From additional reading, it looks like my SPL is 5.2.2.5.0 which means I must downgrade it...
The only way I see so far is with a gold card.
Given I have an OTG cable? Can I use this cable? to somehow download the bootloader?
Hi,
use this Method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1456200
This will work on my boot loader? Even with an SPL with 5.1.2.2250.0?
To close the loop, I used a goldcard image with the RUU_Gold_HTC_Europe_1.22.401.01_Radio_5.63.09.13_3a_22.36.50.15U_by_ansar.zip to create the GOLDIMG.nbh to downgrade the firmware.
Was a bit finicky, but eventually it took the update.
Next to install a custom rom...
Update: Trying to install RSPL and HSPL, but no luck
Does the DFT tool work on these devices? I've tried to go through the 126 page DFT thread (below) but no really confirmation
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647
If anyone can help this would be great!
Moving right along... Got the HSPL flashed. Had to use another PC.
The original PC I used was a VMWARE workstation with Windows XP, which did not detect the device.
Used a physical Win7 Laptop, everything worked just fine.
Now onto a custom firmware....
Hmm, tried to flash Dynamics v2.0, but it needs a special radio version.
I got the radio, but not sure how to flash it, can someone help explain how to do this with RUU?
Thanks.
Hi dustbyter
are you still interested in this topic? I just did the same on my HTC 7 Pro T7576

Hello,
I have been given a HTC 7 Pro T7576, Windows Phone 7.8, OS version: 7.10.8858.136, firmware rev. no. 2250.21.51101.401, hardware rev. no. 0002, radio software version 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U, radio hardware version A.102.0.D4, Bootloader version 5.11.2250.0, chip SOC version 2.2.5.0
I love everything but the OS of this phone.
I am a total newbie at mobile OS but have 10 years experience with Slackware linux.
Please help me out with detailed instructions to replace Windows Phone with Android on HTC 7 Pro.
Thank you!

I second this. Windows Phone 7 is a dead-end street. Therefore, nobody even cooks ROMs for these phones any more (the newest ones I could find are from 2013).
That's pretty bad since otherwise, the HTC 7 Pro is a good phone - I love its keyboard as my fingers do not seem to be compatible to touch screens
It was possible to port Android to legacy devices like the HTC HD2. Wouldn't it be possible to do that for the HTC 7 Pro, too? That would be, I think, the greatest thing since sliced bread
Kind regards,

Hi, I'm new and have been some problems with my eldery phone Huawei w1-u34 which was installed with Windows Phone. I will need some help for setting up with any version of Android. I have been trying to work out the know how of that, but I failed in.
First let me say; I am not a developer. I do not work in the software industry and I have no experience writing code. At home I do run a dual boot system (Kubuntu 20 & Windows10) and I have previously successfully installed LineageOS on a couple of older devices (a Dell Streak 7, Samsung Galaxy S4 and more recently a Nokia 6.2). So, I have a rough idea on how to accomplish an install if there's a clear path toward the goal lol.
I have a (rooted, unlocked) Dell Venue 8 7840 running Android 5.1 and I'd like to see if I can load a custom ROM to update to maybe Android 7. I realize a 5 year old tablet (with Intel Atom Z3580/2.3 GHz quad-core) won't likely be capable of running anything as recent as even Android 10. But this device seems to be a unicorn of sorts. That is, I can find no mention of codename 'moorefield' on any developer message board threads.
How can I support development of a custom ROM for my device? I have used ADB before and can provide copies of any files that might be needed for creation of so-called "proprietary blobs". I find it confusing and misleading that; in order to build a custom ROM someone needs to have previously written one for you device.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can proceed?
I have the same device and the same questions. Everytime I go to get rid of the device I pick it up and fall in love with it again. I still haven;t found a device that is better weight and size wise. I would love to use for a different purpose but Anroid 5.1 holds it back.
How did u rooted the device

Hello everyone !
I just got a Vivo Y70 and I wanted to try to install other OS on it.
But I don't seem to find anything for this model.
Isn't there really not much thing for this device ?
Thanks in advance.
unfortunaltey this is the phone no one wants to develop for
not even a single custom rom found although i found it a good mid ranger budget phone with quite good camera and processing ability .
If only there was a bootstrap to begin with, I have this phone and I'm sick of all that boilerplate iManager and app killer...
As a dev guy, I will be happy to at least provide some tips and improve my life and your if you find the firsts steps of how to root a phone (some endpoint to enter the bootloader code, and root safely a phone)
I am also waiting if someone can figure out the steps to go back to android 10 for Y70 phone it was working pretty fast but as i updated to android 11 its almost dead slow now .. and guess what there is no option to revert back to stock android 10 firmware as well.
Well I have just received an OTA official security update (March 2023), so the device is still supported by the manufaturer: I do not see yet an urgent need for a custom ROM. I'll be waiting at the door when the phone will start aging more.
