Battery is probably the weakest point of the phone. Stock battery gives about 2.5 hrs on screen with 10 hrs total , however, I use the 1900 mah anker battery which gives about 14 hrs use and 4 hrs on screen time.
There are also many awesome ROMs to choose from (sense, aosp, aokp, miui...)

Dude, you probably got a bad battery with your device. I can go through a WHOLE day (read: 24 hrs) of moderate use and still get battery (with right use and turn-offs I managed to get 5 days where having the phone on would drain it (I was in the middle of nowhere)).
I'm using the phone for two years now, and yes, the battery could be better, but with the right cinfig it's great (on CM ROMs I get some nice battery life, and Sense ROMs are fine, too).
As for performance, It's quite good for a 2 year old device. ROMs are smooth (although I think sense ROMs might have a memory management issue (across all versions I used - Sense 3.0->4.5), because after a few days of use, they become slow and require a reboot (I'm not a big fan of task killers). But there are solutions to increase RAM (you can have SWAP on about any partition you like).
Overall, ROMs run great (do not take my RAM issues as a deal breaker, it's only after a week of use, and even this is on a ROM that was never meant to run on the device). Smooth, and run apps well.
You won't regret it.
Oh, and almost forgot. I spoje of how the phone is, but the development community (and the community itself, beside the devs), is great.

Well, idk I'm a pretty heavy user and have tons of background apps running all the time. My WiFi is on 24/7, as well as GPS, and mobile data, so that may justify why my battery is not up to par.

sorry dude,....this phone never getting Official Android 4.2.2.....hell we didnt even get sense 4, until team venom and other devs got down to it, and today the main reason we have good roms is sharing the chip with HTC One S.....although even One S wont get official 4.2.2, so again not happening..
But still very good phone, been using it for 18 months and will probably use it another 6months to 1 yr....

I got a confirmation from the HTC India support that Sensation Xe will get a Update Possibly 4.2.2 but as usual they don't know the date
but here is the mail that I got from them
" Thank you for contacting HTC support.
As per your email, we understand that you want to know when the 4.2.2 upgrade will be available in India for the HTC Sensation XE handset.
We understand how important it is for you to have your phone upgraded to the latest available operating system in the market.
Since the phones manufactured by HTC are country-specific, so are the updates released for them. That is why an update available in one country might not be immediately available in another one.
We are currently working on the 4.2.2 upgrade, and it is slated to be released soon.
When this happens, you will receive a notification on your phone (if it is connected to the internet). "

Well, this is surprising...
To be very honest, it is quite possible the HTC employee who replied to you is a complete idiot....because i checked the htc website, and no such update is planned, not even for One S, which has better specs than sensation..
Although if it is true, it would be awesome...because the main problem for our phone is that HTC has not released a JB ION kernel...for Revelation/ViperS-JB, SebastianFM ported it from VilleC2....so if they release any JB rom with full kernel sources, it would be ****ing awesome...
Hell if this happens we might even see ViperS with Sense 5.5/6 and android 4.3
Although as i said, highly unlikely.

Well I Certainly Agree with you but Lets wait for a couple more months to see what happens And I believe HTC should respect the customer at-least the customer who bought the flagship products. and well the 4.0.3 combined with sense 3.6 sucks the life of the device :silly:
All I can saw now is Lets Wait :fingers-crossed:

I totally agree with you!! It really makes no sense upgrading the sensation which is a year (?) older than OneS. There is no benefit for HTC. I dont know where this email comes from or if it really is real. A few days ago they brought 4.2.2 to OneX+ and i think this was the last update for that too. So there will never be a new official updqate from HTC for OneX and below. And I dont think it is country-specific...

Sensation, advantages and disadvantages, solving some issues

I bought and to be fully honest I am not happy with it! I think I will unroot it and try to sell it. Reasons:
ON stock ROM:
1. touchscreen issues (yes solved but let's be honest it's not what you would expect from the phone)
2. working slow (yes comparing to other android phones it does!!)
3. battery life is ridiculous ( I know Anker battery, yes people posting that they get 48 hours, yeah sure, I got 8 hours and investing extra money and keeping extra battery is not convenient, not with that price that you pay for phone)
4. At lest few more or less annoying bugs which happen to most or all of us which shouldn't with that kind of device (like you cannot charge it via USB!!! it simply drain more battery then it is charging!!!)
Custom ROM
1. Not much improvement with most sense ROM-s in terms of speed and battery life, they still share most of Stock ROM bugs
2. Aosp ROM-s do not exist at the moment or have so many bugs (ex MIUI) that they are not worth attention.
So rooting it is more or less useless unless you really need screenshots etc.
Comparing to Wildfire:
1. Battery life 36-48 h on Wildfire (CM7, 12-16 h on STOCK ROM) vs 8-12 h on sensation (any ROM on stock battery)
2. Speed definitely better as I wasn't able to use skype or pdf books smoothly on wildfire because it was so slow.
Comparing to Desire
1. Better battery life on Desire (both HD and S have longer life on sock battery)
2. They work FASTER because stock rom is better and custom ROM-s are better!!! Ridiculous!!!
Summary
For me the most important is battery life then being able to use Skype and PDF-s so I am slightly more happy about it then about Wildfire, but I think Wildfire S might be a better choice. However Deisre is far superior to Sensation in any aspect that I consider important which is battery, speed (pdf, skype), choice of custom ROM-s. If you consider same aspects important, save yourself some money and don't buy sensation. It's full of bugs, battery is a joke and aosp ROM-s are not developed properly.
After good experience with few different HTC phones this one is a disaster!!!
But maybe it's just me!!!

I just got this 2 days ago, as a replacement for the Vibrant, so I have not had time to really play with it yet. Either way, i think its a step up from the Vibrant.
Upon rooting my Vibrant, I could tether, and there were a ton of custom roms that vastly improved the use of the phone.
So are you saying that since on sensation we can tether without the need to root, and the custom Roms are not an improvment over stock, there is no need?
---not flaming, just asking as i have not had a chance to really look into the custom roms. I was assuming that there were plenty of custom roms and they offered many features over stock...; am I mistaken?? again, Im just asking as I was going to root this weekend and throw a rom on there. I have not really had a chance to look at what the custom roms offer over stock. Any ideas?
thanks
I also received a sensation to replace the defective vibrant. It appears that roms for sensation are based on Sense. The development for CM rom is at early stage unlike vibrant. So I am not sure whether rooting will provide additional benefit at this stage with the sense based roms. Could anybody tell me why I should root this phone and install sense based roms.
Hello my friends,
i am so happy to buy the Sensation. Ok its have little problems but whitch phone have it not??
Befor i install a Custom Rom it´s work fine and fast but this was not enough for me (my girlfriend was contented with the stock rom) and with the new Rom it´s going more faster and more batterylife on day.
And are you interessted to play little bit with the Sensation you get a beautiful Smartphone.
Buy a bigger Battery, install a new Custom Rom. Finish.
Yours sincerely
BS
Stock ROM was rather crappy, but I heard (haven't tested) the OTA's bring a lot of improvements both speed- and batterywise.
When the stock ROM is replaced, I think it's an awesome phone. I would choose it any day over a SGS II for sure.

Custom ROM always offer some kind of improvement, but from my viewpoint with available for Sensation those aspects are insignificant, and I don't care about thetering so did not tried it or don't consider it main function for me.
If you think you will get such a nice choice of highly developed ROM-s as for Vibrant then forget about it. There is no serious AOSP ROM if that is what you asking about. If you not sens hater ( I am ) then yes there are decent choices.

Will do but after 3 ROM-s (stock, coredroid, MIUI) I am disappointed with results, and I don't think you should start using your phone from buying battery it is just not right, but simply don't have other option with Sensation.

Unless you need some kind of root only working app like tethering there is no point in doing it I think so don't root it. Sense sucks on both stock and custom ROM, as I already rooted mine I will try 2-3 more ROM-s but I think unrooting and selling this phone is best choice for me

No one bothered with CM7 or AOSP as it was clear ICS would be around very soon when the Sensation was released into the wild.
And still, HyperSensation and SelfKANG are very decent ROMs. InsertCoin is good too buy I didn't like Sense and there were a very versions very power-inefficient back when I switched away from it. Should be better by now, baad is a great chef.

How long did you own a vibrant? Because you should be aware that one the phone has been out about a year longer than the sensation which means its better known... And they have a much more functional ics (so far) also due to this... But if you'd been around very long you would know that we waited forever for froyo and never got cm6 support. And barely got a real functional cm7 in about... August? Maybe slightly before but pretty sure that's when they finally got gps working fairly well. Either way it takes time to get to know the phone and such. I get that it seems like there's very little development currently compared to the vibrant but the vibrant has been around much longer...

SO what is your point? That sensation is here not long enough to have decent rom available. Sry but I don't agree. Or maybe that justifies number of bugs in stock rom and phone itself as well? Or maybe in few months time battery will also start working better? From my viewpoint android phone should be good at stock and even better with custom rom and that is my experience with all HTC devices so far just not with this one. It is terrible with stock rom and not much better with custom rom.

Point being 5 months after vibrant Release people had similar ***** fits... With decent reason. But stock vibrant blew compared to stock sensation. So I don't have a clue what you are getting at.
Yeah considering this came stock gingerbread it'd seem that we should be able to get better rom support but i'm happy enough... You could easily sell the sensation and purchase a vibrant if you really think it's a better device but try odin it back to original stock and use the device and tell me it's better than the sensation...
I agree that cell phones had a lot of issues considering the phones cost upwards of $500 retail its a disappointment we can't get something 100% stable and reliable but this is pretty much any android phone not particular problem of htc or the sensation....

What bugs? Can't you read? I clearly mention at least few and guess what Holmes there is a sticky about fixing touchscreen because it is such a common thing in those phones I can assure you that every single thing I mention here is not unique to my device, I recommend you try search option once in a while. About roms I hate sense and that is it, there is no serious alternative as far as I know unless coding one on my own is considered an akternative then yeach what a great mobile I have..... not. And its not about bashing custom rom programmers I respect their effort and admire there work but it is simple matter of fact that so far all the roms I tested where not half as good as for other HTC devices.

I compared sensation with desire and wildfire and yes I am seriously considering going back to desire and selling it. Will.try 2 or 3 more roms before doing that and maybe another battery but for this price I can easily get something more stable with similar speed better battery life and lots of cash left in my pocket for example desire s or desire HD. There are movies on YouTube that show desire is actually working faster then sensation.

Go for it then for sure. I have found the sensation a decent device and trust it will get support or decent resell value to the avg. User. Sensation/XE in the Philippines

Okay then. Since we were already discussing at the 'DHD in the Philippines' thread already, let's start this thread for the the Sensation/Sensation XE.
So I'll start
I got my Sensation XE just 2 weeks ago and I bought it at a nearby SM. I waited 'till day 2 to root my phone and flash a custom firmware (since I couldn't stand the rooting itch )
This is just my second Android phone and I came from using a Samsung Galaxy 551 with hardware Qwerty. I gave in to the pressure since there's not enough community support for it.
Nobody?
I got my Sensation XE as a gift las Christmas. Rooted and flashed a custom ROM within 2 hours. Very happy with my phone and, in general, with the Android platform. Came from iOS, I just love how "free" Android feels.

Got mine last Christmas from my cousin who has a store in Greehills. Still on stock ROM but rooted. I'm eying CM9/ARHD but I'll wait for HTC's official ICS update before I decide to flash or not.
Hi! I've got my Sensation XE last December too as a Christmas gift for myself. ^_^
I've already tried almost all available custom roms for Sensation but I keep going back to ARHD 6.2.1 ICS (sense removed)
Last Christams? perhaps do you mean this christmas?
Wow so I see most of you guys got yours under the Christmas tree

Bought mine last xmas. Didn't last a day, rooted right away after charging
Coming from DHD and HD2 here.
Tried several ROMs already and settled with ARHD.

Enjoy your stock phone first It will come to you when its time to flash. But when you start flashing custom ROMs, it's kinda addicting and you'll never stop looking for the best setup
Nice to see lot of Kabayans here . Bought my Sensation during the initial release here in SG last June 2011. And rooted after 6mths of usage as it is under warranty. , used DF520 as ICS and CD3.3 for GB.
I got mine 6 months ago... Got the courage to root and s-off Nov 2011... Really itching to flash ics but still hesitant... At the moment, its powered by insertcoin 3.4.4 with bricked kernel...

Same here. Then i realized i'm too old for this I rather play BattleStar Galactica Online on my free time
I S-OFFed and rooted my phone within 1 hour of getting it LOL. I'm a big fan of the ARHD ROMs. Was using the 3.6.x series up until I jumped on over to ICS with 6.2.1 just last week. ICS really is a big step up from GB in terms of speed and battery life.
Viber is finally working on ICS
Well seeing that most of us (if not all) are on Globe, I wanna know if you guys are on a postpaid line.
I'm on prepaid and I most usually subscribe for the 300MB Powersurf plan.
Also, have you guys tried the new *143# menu?

Singtel is the sister company of Globe here in SG. Im on a 12GB dataplan cant fully utilized the whole month.
I'm on Globe Postpaid. No data plan for me on globe since where I'm based only Smart has wireless broadband coverage.
I'd like to ask though; what accessories you guys have and where you got them from? Since it's relatively(compared to iPhones) hard to find good accessories for the Sensation locally. Thanks!

ARHD T-Mobile Questions

I currently have a HTC Sensation on T-Mobile US and I was wondering what are the differences between the ARHD T-Mobile ROM and ARHD 6.6.5XE (My current version). Is battery life, reception, or data improved in any manner? Would I lose Beats audio?
Battery life is horrible. It goes from 100 to about 10 percent in about an hour of use. With nothing but WiFi on. It goes from about 75 to 10 percent in about 2 hours with the screen off. I am very disappointed in all sensation roms. In MY opinion none of them work right. I am sure someone will say I need to be kicked off because I stated my opinion. My opinion is that they don't work right. I superwipe and let it sit for 10 minutes each time I flash but all the roms never work right for me. No beats audio but also in MY opinion its just a marketing gimmick. Why waste 17 mb of storage to have one sq setting when you can download an eq from the market and set it any way you want?
I never have had that bad a battery drain with any of the ARHD roms. However the big difference, in my mind, between the tmous and the xe rom is the radio. Yes they both use the same version of the radio but the radio is set to to dish 2 on the tmous rom, better signal and strength in the tmous in the US. Also the xe does have beats but as said before you can download an eq from the market.

All the roms I've tried work perfectly, not only that, they in my opinion are MORE stable than the stock rom! I'll give an example, stock rom kept rebooting all the time, NEVER had this happen with custom rom. Also my battery life is MUCH better on custom rom! This is the truth. Custom rom in my opinion is MUCH better than stock. More options, smoother, faster, better over all experience! This is my honest truth. Not for one second do I regret having rooted and running custom rom. I think most people would agree. Custom rom is the only way to go! Iove the wonderful options of Roms we have here at xda Personally I'm grateful for the many wonderful choices the developers give us. I've NEVER had a negative experience with ANY rom. I've chosen !

I don't know why my battery life is so horrible. I hate it. If I leave it sit with screen off and set CPU turned down it will still die within a couple hours. Lately the phone has not been ringing. It was rebooting after I tried a new kernal. It would restart every time I hung up from a call. It would be nice if the battery wasn't so weak. I've had this phone for less than 90 days and I got it brand new. It is MY PERSONAL opinion that these custom roms keeps to be worked on more. I can't remember where it was that I saw it but there was a whole list of bugs for a certain rom that was months old and none of the real bugs never get fixed. Everything was still in red and one thing that was in green highlights I guess that had been "fixed" was that the play store had been updated to the latest. As if people can't do that themselves when they install a new rom. I could be wrong but in my opinion nothing in a custom rom truly gets fixed. I have problems with the stock browser in elegancia. It only goes to google when I try to do a search. I have other problems too. Arhd works pretty good but this battery sucks. Truthfully I'm done with custom roms. Next phone I get (if its even another android because again in my opinion all android phones suck, maybe its just the os but everyday I realize that android is not really such a great thing to have) anyways next phone I get will be reasearched

Perhaps a I phone would work best for you. Especially seeing how you feel Android sucks and all. I think that just might be a perfect phone for you. Sigh..... I believe Android is a excellent operating system! Also I've tried numerous Roms and they work perfectly. Your saying besides the foul language that they do not function correctly? I've never ever had a negative experience with Any Rom I've choosen. You are not forced to root nor are you forced to use custom rom. So I feel your anger and flaming are not necessary. In my HONEST opinion I love Android OS and love the choices of available Roms. No offences but I don't understand why you are still using Android if you hate it so. I was just stating my opnion and their is no need to become ABUSIVE to me. Android gives us more options than any other system, its open source, also the Roms have proven MUCH more stable than the stock systems in my experience. I don't have constant rebooting, its faster, more options, smoother and looks better. It's a all around better experience. Nothing to attack me personally about.....you sir have anger issues.... I refuse to stoop to your level and flame back at you! I stand firm in my opinion of Android and custom Roms. There is a simple solution for your issues, simply get a different device and operating system and be done with it.....there is no reason to be so angry....I have my opinion you have yours. Personal attacks are not necessary and are juvenile......so leave Android and be happy in what ever else you choose...

You honestly are one of the only people to actually give a helpful response. Thank you. Any comments on battery life? I can always get through a day with 6.5.5 but I'm interested to know if the tmobile ARHD will provide any benefits.
Sorry for the long absence, the ARHD t-mobile rom has given in my opinion about the same battery life as the 6.5.5 does or did. The only actual benefits in the tmous rom is the signal I feel is better due to the dish setup. But if you're half savvy with a computer and adb you can change dish setups yourself.

Planning to get a Sensation, worth it?

Hello community,
I have an Atrix, and it is quite old now... I want a larger screen
Planning to get a Sensation to replace it, and i have some questions to ask about it:
1. How is the battery life?
Would it get very hot while using?
2. How is the build quality? ie. any chance to be easily broken?
I havd my Atrix repaired several times because of digitizer.
3. Are the current ICS roms stable enough?
And, does unlocking bootloader/flashing a custom rom easy?
How about gaming?
4. Sensation's spec better than Atrix or not?
I mean, for normal web or apps using, 768MB ram is enough?
Thanks for any advices.

Ok so not biased answer it worth it but if you can expand your budget little bit more might aswell get a galaxy nexus however for your question :
#1 : battery life is pure crap on stock battery unless you get an anker otherwise you can get more then 1-2 hours screen on time..
It depends how you use your phone if you game alot alot ot heats up easily but i do normal use sometimes it gets hot but overall it isn't that bad..
#2 : build quality is quite good feels good in the hand it isnt easily breakable but keep in mind if you drop your sensation there is always a chance of cracking the screen...
#3 : yes ics roms are really stable most of the have 90% of the things working there is some small issues such as on aosp roms or cm9 wiping sd card will hard brick your phone otherwise things like camera and so on works...
i cant really answer to this one as my phone was already s-off unlocked bootloader but from the forums it seems quite hard...
Gaming is good if you'd ask me but it still lags a little bit on gta 3
#4 : yes specs are better and ram is plenty enough on sense rom i always have 250mb free and on aosp roms about 340mb free..
But as i said having a anker is a must if your an moderate user !

1. decent/average.. and yea it gets hot.. depends on your kernel setup too
2. there are several hardware defects that affect random people. digitizer, deathgrip, low speaker quality, etc.. mines been fine so i cant really add much to this. pretty solid build though, sort of typical of HTC
3. 90-99.9% stable, still a few things here and there.. not necessarily to do with our phone but with ICS in general. VERY easy to unlock and root and get s-off.. but ive been doing this to htc phones for years so i guess experience counts. gaming is as it should be. some games might not work with certain sense 4.0 or other ICS roms for some. everything works for me though
4. yes. especially if you decide to do the CM/MIUI/AOSP/AOKP route (aka sense-less, lol) youll have more than enough free memory

The bug about it reformatting the NAND and not the SD card has been fixed and is no longer present in the current ASOP or AOKP builds, but to be safe I recommend only using AOSP or AOKP builds from April to current. But the rest of the info you gave is pretty spot on,
Also the current method of S-off for Hboot versions 1.21.0000 and up is Juopunutbear S-off is a little tricky because you have to use the wire trick. But if you follow the guides that are in this forum you should not have to much trouble.

Ok, thanks for informations.
A Sensation in Taiwan now is priced about 280~300USD, just fit my budget.
I'm reading the s-off guide... somewhat complicated than motorola devices, but I think I can make it.
How about the battery life on ICS roms vs. GB roms?
I have a Htc Senseation and ive had heaps of phones, battery life for me..is okish with screen brightness lowered but i would like to get a anker battery,
The ICS Roms are really Good for me i love the Team PKMN with the little tweaks makes it very more..my own
Ive only had about 3 issues, 1 Boot looping..and that was due to my own fault.
2 a Camera issue with a rom but that was due to my own error
3 a couple of random shutdowns from something but again..my own fault.
Basically i have Setcpu , System Tuner , And cputuner running
im 18 and i was able to root it so if you have any experience rooting..you should had NO issues, just post and ask around most people are very helpful to guide you with a how to So Far my fav phone.

On stock GB & battery I was getting 12hrs life with only 1 or 2hr screen time, with ICS (VI ROM) and Anker battery I get between 1 and 2 days life and up to 9hrs screen time.
Everyone's usage is different but there's nothing wrong with the hardware.
The only limitation is the custom ROM scene, most developers bypassed or moved on from the Sensation. Custom ROMs are miles better than stock, but development is pretty static now.
Based on my personal experience, I will not buy a HTC phone again. This is a shame considering I have the Desire as well.
I have been plagued by the following problems:
death grip ( i know most phones experience this at some point, but this is no excuse )
missed calls - even with a full signal strength, my phone would not even ring
reboots at random intervals
HTC do make good phones, but apparently the One X on the Vodafone UK network is also plagued by signal loss.
I love my sensation!
Yes its worth getting! battery life can be worked with I got a long lasting battery it makes a huge difference! Rooting can be difficult depending on your h boot version but I promise its well worth it and very do able. Just follow the guide to s off and rooting. You will do fine. Ice Never had problems with my device and I flash a lot. Mine has proven sturdy and solid. I have no complaints. I really enjoy everything about my device! Ics custom roms have proven to be more stable than stock roms! ice never got a reboot on a custom ROM and ice tried several, even sense 4. I can honestly say I'm still enjoying my device! Thanks to the developers here at xda. If your rooted you make your device rudely your own. if you don't like something just change it. the customization is wonderful! You can create a device thats truely yours with the help of rooting, roms, kernels, and mods! Its always fresh never boreing! I think you will be completely happy. I know I am! Your not stuck with something you don't like because you change and modify it to what you want. I don't understand how anyone can complain about that! You have the ability to change it on the deepest levels. My advice is to try many roms until you find what suits you! Then you can change kernels and mods and really customize your device. Warning its highly addictive lol. bottom line IM still happy after a year. I think you will be also. I must say rooting is a must! Also s off. Then you will be on your way to making your device custom AND TRUELY your own creation! Enjoy every step of the way! I think you will love it! I know I do. Best of luck and have fun!

By the way add like 40$ more and you can get the galaxy nexus off the market place here on xda really at that price it doesn't worth it...

Just to chip in here, I'm a complete noob at this stuff but a few days ago I just followed this guide and went from stock ICS to rooted with a custom ROM in only a few hours, and much of that was spent waiting for files to download. I highly recommend you follow it, and if you do, modify step 4b a little bit. Everything Superwipe does can be done by a 4EXT wipe, so replace step 4b with:
Download the custom ROM you want, you don't need Superwipe
Place the zip on your sd card
Reboot into recovery
Perform a full wipe ("wipe | format" --> "format all partitions (except sd card)")
Enable smartflash ("tools" --> "enable 4EXT SmartFlash")
Flash the new ROM ("install from sd card" --> "choose zip from sd card" --> select zip)
And once you're rooted you can repeat this process as many times as you want each time you want to try out a new ROM
HTC sensation is worth every penny. I am inloved with this phone. I have been using one since January. I rooted it and installed a custom ROM on it. The phone fits perfectly with my needs. It is fast enough, nice design, good material quality so, yeah, I reccomend it.
Now, is it possible for me to downgrade 4est recovery from v2.... to v.1 and stuff RC?
The damn speaker is so awesome, I've made a conscious decision not to buy a HTC phone again. Galaxy s 3 or the eagerly awaited Google nexus with jelly bean should be a wise choice.

I would suggest a Nexus instead. Google has decreased $50 off the original price, so that's $350 for an unlocked phone, with superior specs than the Sensation, for pretty much a similar price and priority OTA updates from Google. It'll be getting JB anything now.

"superior specs than the sensation" LOL
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4219&idPhone2=3875
the slight ram increase is not worth anything, the typical end user will find no difference with the CPU and GPU differences, and not many people even care to use the front facing camera or require HD quality..
other than that, its a downgrade to get the nexus.. its not like we wont get a JB version ROM lol devs are always hard at work
also... sense > any other UI including stock

the slight ram increase is not worth anything, the typical end user will find no difference with the CPU and GPU differences, and not many people even care to use the front facing camera or require HD quality..
other than that, its a downgrade to get the nexus.. its not like we wont get a JB version ROM lol devs are always hard at work
also... sense > any other UI including stock

They got a leaked version. Not official ota.
I'm with ya. Hopefully soon.

Yeah, I know about the leak but OP said they have the OTA, which they don't. And the current one is quite buggy, I believe which is why there is only a ROM of it, which requires HBOOT update. We will probably need one, too, so that you can't go back to ICS after flashing.

Well, HTC said October and theres only about 2 weeks left in October so I'd say sometime within about the next 2 weeks..
Probably closer to the end of the month, but thats just speculation.
I need update

Us T-Mobile customers won't get JB till sometime in November......that's just the way it always is. Would be shocked if we got it officially before then
Gotta remember we just got the ICS 4.0.4 with Sense 4.1 update like 3 weeks ago

That's the beauty of custom roms. I'm sure Torxx will have something built shortly after the international update is released. Why wait for stock? unless you really love bloatware I suppose

They said October but that was for the non-carrier branded devices. Carrier ones always take a longer

I feel sorry for anyone who is waiting for T-Mo's OTA release... Not only will it be filled with bloat and T-Mo's worthless anti Wifi tether code, but it will be released much later than the international release.
Love viperOneS and cant wait till he_stheone gets a hold of it

Along with an updated hboot.
It's always best to just wait for a ROM to be made.

Rooting phones is getting outdated to me personally unless you wanna switch to stock ICS or JB.....I can't find one thing wrong with ICS 4.0.4 with Sense 4.1, great battery life, fast, fluid, everything works, and you can disable the bloat which frees up space so.....you guys have fun rooting your phones and F'in em up I'm personally done with that gets old after a while.
Oh man... Why did I decide to f up my phone?! XD

I just hate one thing that WiFi tethering is not working on any custom Rom , I tried trickdroid, viperones , and the one by football maximus something , WiFi tether doesn't work on the that's only the sad part .. I am from India , using Vodafone so no need of T-Mobile Sh*t , I would prefer a custom Rom , if the WiFi tether and the data jumping from 3g to h+ is fixed

Yeah except two bloats , I have disabled every bloat, everything works fine like butter , that's why am sticking with stock unrooted.

Couldn't agree anymore. I think rooting was kind of needed with the older smartphones. The slow single core processor phones needed to be stripped of bloatware and overclocked and all that jazz but now phones are getting so powerful that changes we make are making little difference or giving us hardly any benefit. I remember with my HTC wildfire if I had more than 10 apps the phone would slow down! Now you can have hundreds of apps and the phone barely slows down. Same with PC's. deleting programs and defragmenting our PC's gave us a huge speed boost but now they do nothing to my PC it's just fast and it stays fast. Woohoo! Just means we can't show off how fast our devices are to people with little technical knowledge with slow phones anymore
