They got a leaked version. Not official ota.
I'm with ya. Hopefully soon.
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using xda app-developers app

Yeah, I know about the leak but OP said they have the OTA, which they don't. And the current one is quite buggy, I believe which is why there is only a ROM of it, which requires HBOOT update. We will probably need one, too, so that you can't go back to ICS after flashing.

Well, HTC said October and theres only about 2 weeks left in October so I'd say sometime within about the next 2 weeks..
Probably closer to the end of the month, but thats just speculation.

I need update

Us T-Mobile customers won't get JB till sometime in November......that's just the way it always is. Would be shocked if we got it officially before then
Gotta remember we just got the ICS 4.0.4 with Sense 4.1 update like 3 weeks ago

That's the beauty of custom roms. I'm sure Torxx will have something built shortly after the international update is released. Why wait for stock? unless you really love bloatware I suppose

I feel sorry for anyone who is waiting for T-Mo's OTA release... Not only will it be filled with bloat and T-Mo's worthless anti Wifi tether code, but it will be released much later than the international release.

It's always best to just wait for a ROM to be made.

Rooting phones is getting outdated to me personally unless you wanna switch to stock ICS or JB.....I can't find one thing wrong with ICS 4.0.4 with Sense 4.1, great battery life, fast, fluid, everything works, and you can disable the bloat which frees up space so.....you guys have fun rooting your phones and F'in em up I'm personally done with that gets old after a while.

Oh man... Why did I decide to f up my phone?! XD

I just hate one thing that WiFi tethering is not working on any custom Rom , I tried trickdroid, viperones , and the one by football maximus something , WiFi tether doesn't work on the that's only the sad part .. I am from India , using Vodafone so no need of T-Mobile Sh*t , I would prefer a custom Rom , if the WiFi tether and the data jumping from 3g to h+ is fixed

Couldn't agree anymore. I think rooting was kind of needed with the older smartphones. The slow single core processor phones needed to be stripped of bloatware and overclocked and all that jazz but now phones are getting so powerful that changes we make are making little difference or giving us hardly any benefit. I remember with my HTC wildfire if I had more than 10 apps the phone would slow down! Now you can have hundreds of apps and the phone barely slows down. Same with PC's. deleting programs and defragmenting our PC's gave us a huge speed boost but now they do nothing to my PC it's just fast and it stays fast. Woohoo! Just means we can't show off how fast our devices are to people with little technical knowledge with slow phones anymore

Confirmed: T-Mobile USA Sensation 4G ICS out now! WiFi Calling Mod is out!

UPDATE on ICS rollout dates:
The Sensation 4G will not update in April. While I don't know with certainty when it is coming, I can tell you it will not be this month.

UPDATE, most recent news is here. T-Mobile US testing is complete. OTA soon to come.
Update: T-Mobile confirms the Update will be available starting on Wednesday 5/16/2012.
Update: A flashable zip version of the T-Mobile Stock ICS OTA is already available here on XDA. Thanks to Paten for finding the thread and of course thanks to Steve0007 for making it available to the XDA community.
Update: WiFi Calling Mod ripped right from the T-Mobile ICS OTA is now up!
Update: Confirmation someone has received the official OTA.
No Big News...
No big news here. I think we already knew that it wasn't going to happen. And all because of a new phone that is severely crippled, the One S.
Once again, if you want ICS bad enough study and learn the fine art of rooting your phone and pulling a custom rom. Plenty of them out there!
http://www.tmonews.com/2012/04/t-mo...ors-says-no-sensation-4g-ics-update-in-april/
From The Article on TMONEWS: "If T-Mobile could have releases the Sensation update already, they would have. Trust me."
Ummm when I hear trust me, I want to check and make sure my wallet is in my back pocket, my watch is still on my wrist and my fillings are still in my mouth.
Oh yea and Marketing has no control... MY ASS it doesn't!
You can root and go back to stock with s on with ease, yet everyone still complains. Makes no sense to me. ARHD is pretty much stock and works perfectly. All of the T mobile stuff works flawlessly for me on my US 4G which leads me to my next point. T-Mobile US is definitely holding the release back waiting for the One to launch. Its their choice though.
Root and be happy. After all, this site is here for that sole purpose. Don't get why people are pissed off yet still holding out on rooting, when all of the tools are here for them. Its such a simple process!

As if it can't be more likely that T-Mobile sent the buggy ICS update back. We already know HTC just released a patch for it. So even HTC is not trying to proclaim the first ICS release was perfect.
The Sensation is on EOL with T-Mobile, they want the last update to be good enough to walk away from. Not have to deal with complaints and another later OTA patch.
The T-Mobile update matters, because that could be why we got a patch from HTC so quickly. Also, there's no telling if the T-Mobile edition might have other updates.
Yea, we're all running custom ROMs already, so no big deal there is a delay. But just the same, the topic is worth keeping an eye on.

At Tatdude806, I agree with you. Wrong is a state of mind.
Now about the post that page of the T-Mobile forum thread. I for one was not expecting the update this month. To be honest if it gets pushed middle to late next month it will suprise me. But thanks for the info Darnell_Chat_TN.
Last if anyone thinks T-Mobile does not want to compromise any potential profits for the HTC One S by updating the HTC Sensation 4G too early. Well let me tell you, start thinking it cause it is no doubt in my mind it is. Yes Marketing may actually have no control over a software update, but profits do. Meaning if the higher ups in the T-Mobile corperate offices see it as a potential damaging factor to possible profits of the release of HTC's New flag ship device..

I'm sorry to hear it, though not really surprised. The vagaries of quality assurance between two companies makes it pretty inevitable that it would much longer than normal.
Though disappointing, I'd rather have a quality build with no errors - particularly in the trouble-some wifi calling app - than get a stock build that has to be patched ad nauseum.

Not quite everything is in the ARHD release. I really miss the original swype keyboard from the stock rom. Maybe it could be added after ICS release by TMOUS, because I tried the swype beta, and did not like it as much as the original.

I totally agree and want to see some ROMs based on the official US update when it comes out.
I'm just saying its crazy to let yourself actually get upset about it when you can get a fully functional ICS Rom loaded on your phone with ease.
As far as the peeps who need WiFi calling to work, (we are all adults here for the most part), use GB until the official ota drops and stop complaining. We are 100% certain it is in the works. GB works perfectly fine until then.

Restoring Stock
To those of you that are saying it is a relatively simple matter to restore the phone to stock and S-On if you want following an ICS upgrade, am I wrong that to be left with the impression from what I've read that it is actually somewhat risky to roll back from ICS on the Sensation to the stock GB. Maybe I'm misinterpreting what I've seen, but the feeling I have is that yes it is pretty easy to upgrade to ICS, but that the firmware upgrade required to get ICS is difficult to undo if you want to rollback to the T-Mobile stock GB Rom.
This doesn't surprise me...tipical T-Mobile slowness!

In short, yes, you are wrong. If you are s-off rolling back software/firmware is simple and no more risky than it was to flash non-US ICS firmware and radio! Yes there is risk involved, but that same risk was there when flashing ICS so why worry now if you weren't worried before?

April Fool's Day was a month and a half ago.
This is no April fools joke.
I wasn't expecting an update at all anyway. HTC and T-Mo don't seem to be showing any interest in supporting the device more than in a very cursory way. They made their money off the device and are washing their hands.
The dev community has been the life of this device in my opinion since about the beginning of October for me. TBalden, Blue, and Undead are the reason I didn't bail and sell the device. I see no reason to change my decision simply because of HTC's affirmation that they don't care to support their customers.
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement
So what am I to do next I want to root and do custom mods and roms and stuff but idk Imma end up messing my phone up. I want an iPhone 5 but this device I have now will do til I get it in the mean time I need a dedicated person to help me put sense 4.0 up and running on my device.

I wouldn't go that far. Maybe great for some people, but still not quite there yet for me. But, I'm encouraged by the progress that has been made. I need a ROM that just works, everything works, without any "gotchas" or having to do anything extraordinary.. just works. That's why I stick with tweaked stock ROMs for now. My MT4GS is my only phone, I don't have a landline or another phone as a spare.
The ICS update is not really much of an issue... Get yourself a virtuous inquisition 4.0.3, I am running it right now since I got the doubleshot over eBay a month ago. Everything is working quite good and stable. Tbalden is stil working on it, he released kernel 3 a week ago, so the doubleshot is running up to 1.7ghz in case of need... don't whine, just get s-off, root and you'll get one of the most versatile qwerty smartphones out there...
Edit: you can check out Rootzwiki for more info...
Here is the download link to vinq kernel 3 v2: virtuous.prp2.com/doubleshot/inquisition/virtuous_inquisition-v4.0.2-doubleshot-kernel3_v2.zip

To be honest, CM9 currently runs a litle better than Virtuous Inquisition. Less force crashes, a slightly more polished experience, and the battery life is a little better. However, Virtuous runs Nova by default and also has the MIUI style battery bar by default.
Recommendation: try both. A few less FC's and more polish vs. a few more shiny things and a little less stability.

Believe me I'm in the same boat and cm9 is working amazingly for me as a daily driver, everything that I need works though bluetooth is slightly buggy sometimes (though that may be my fault as I jumped right in after flashing and MAY have accidentally restored my stock 2.3.4 pairings. I had some serious issues with Cm9... WiFi not working, force closing apps, did not even managed to get mybackup working to restore my data, apps etc. Camera was not running properly and the launcher itself was not that smooth, compared to nova... I'll wait for the next update or the RC to try it out again, till then I am staying with vinq.
I suppose it's more or less personal preference which rom you choose atm
Edit: I get round 1 fc in 24h and when I start the app again, it's always working. Do not have any stability issues with the new kernel...

Look, tbalden is working on both so you don't have to feel like betraying cm team or something like that... I mean I am switching from cm9 to vinq and back (right now staying on vinq because of the better experience) and trying things out. It's important for the devs that we do it to get rid of the errors...
I can recommend vinq, you can backup cm9, flash vinq, try it out (report errors) and then switch back if you don't like it... Not that I'm trying to convince you, just listing the options. Basically that is a question of 20 minutes to try a rom out, it's not like you will be formating your windows pc...
Cm9 has great support, I was running CM7 on my old Desire Z but ICS is just a totally different experience

2.20, breathe of fresh air.

I cant tell you what a breathe of fresh air it is not having random reboots, or the temptation to FLASH FLASH FLASH new roms every other two weeks, or force closes, or any of the other issues that arise from running roms that are not stock...Sure, there are far less customizations and tweaks, but the battery life is phenomenal, phone is fairly fast, sense is nice, the only thing I would take away would be the at&t bloatware and the keyboard absolutely blows, swiftkey3 takes care of that though!
Cheers.
Sigh.
While I found myself telling my girlfriend this yesterday, how it was nice to not be worried about updating my rom every night and trying out multiple kernels and all that, but in reality I am just in denial and craving so bad for it I have to think negative to even survive P)
I have had the phone 3 days and LOVE it but without root IDK how long I can stand it. Thinking about trading for a S3 just for root and there are no other good alternatives.

I agree with this. I thought the stock software was decent enough to live with, the major exception being the Linkify crap. The battery life was so so at first (on 1.73 and 1.85) but when I flashed CleanROM the battery life improved greatly. I'm not sure if it was due to the jump in the base code or if it's ROM tweaks but its much nicer now.

I felt the same, I was never able to get the same flawless, smooth experience I had with the 2.20 stock HOX with any of the ROMS/Kernel combinations found in this forum. And since I really like stock but been able to tweak, I moved back to the GS3, I forgot how nice and smooth it is...
That's odd ... I have random reboots on 2.20. I am currently using it unlocked on T-mobile.
i was debloating 2.20 nicely almost custom rom worthy until i found out htclinkify cant be removed so its pretty much a pointless base for a custom rom. too bad cause for me being on at&t it was the most stable and quickest of all for me personally.
I just got my HTC One X, w/ 2.20. Kinda made me mad cause I bought it for root/rom and turns out I got a HTC thats too new.
When I first got the phone I was on 1.85. I didn't root though. I was enjoy the stock experience and I thought if I ever did want to root I always could. Until 2.20 happened. I feel like they took away the freedom I had so now the second a root method comes I'm rooting to CM10 and never looking back.

I agree about stock being the most reliable user experience. Not that custom ROMs are inherently bad, it's just the small bugs always irritated me and took away the polish from the OS. However, I disagree with you on the lack of root being a good thing. Luckily I changed to SuperCID when I first got the phone so I can still root on 2.20. Without root you're stuck with all the AT&T bloatware and no reliable backups of apps/data. I can do without flashing custom ROMs until we get a stable, feature complete build of CM10, but I need the ability to debloat and backup with Titanium.

You should try wcx illuminati Rom...they have we have two versions..one.is stock with all the bloat gone and a few lil tweaks @ speed ...and the.other is the.mod build and it has a few extra mods added...
The roms are rock stable and everything works and not one hick up ever ..plus the battery life is amazing

What's irritating about being apart of the community ...
That's what wrong with the world today ..everyone expects something.for free..the main dev ,wildchild, spends countless hours perfecting his work and makes sure that every user is completely 100% satisfied ..and all that he/we ask is to make a simple 10 post min to contribute to the forum and maybe help someone while your at it..or just share some of you experiences with others..
Some people's sense of entitlement here on xda is outrageously high..

What's irritating about it is that I don't want to be part of yet another "community" for my phone. I don't feel entitled to the ROM, but the fact is it's irritating to me that I would have to put up 10 meaningless posts to download software. I would rather contribute a few dollars to download the ROM than join the community. There are far bigger problems in the world today than my irritation with what I see as a pointless restriction to download the ROM.

The forgotten HTC One XL

Maybe I'm alone in this but it seems like this phone is a dead end now up to this point. We still have absolutely no word from AT&T or HTC about an update to Jelly Bean.....Well mostly AT&T because HTC has released a JB update to international ONE X.
The CM10 isn't stable enough to be a daily driver due to lack of sources.
It sucks we have great developers trying to give us something big from something small.
Now that the new ONE X is out on AT&T, I doubt they give a rats ass about the Previous version, we may well NEVER get Jelly Bean.
I've been using CM10 since I rooted. I have very few issues with it.

and so it begins ....imho if your that unhappy get a new phone and move on
A dead end? We've got some pretty good roms and kernels here, and active development. Maybe not as much as other forums, or as much as some would like, but plenty of people are happy about it.
JB is coming. The One XL has always lagged a couple of months behind the One X in releases, and that's continuing. But it will be out. And, who cares about AT&T? All we need is one carrier pushing it out and the devs can work from there.

It's been good when I was using it. But losing cellular reception constantly while using GPS was the tipping point for me to go back to a Sense ROM. Plenty of people had/have this issue and I don't see in changelogs that it's been resolved.
If it helps the Htc One XL has come to the UK with 32gb of storage, Maybe this will kickstart some more development...

CM10 is far from bad. Now something you wouldn't have liked was CM7 on my old GS2. No matter what I did with it, it never worked right. Only problem I have had with any of the AOSP is the music playing. Stuff that is far from a big deal..
Also, who cares about when AT&T is going to release an update. Have you taken a look at the dev sections lately? There is only 1 active rom that is based on AT&T released software(not knocking the rom itself in anyway, it was pretty good). Once one of the international variants get theirs, we'll have it.
Dead ?????

Yeah we just got a port(bootable albeit not entirely working) of a JB sense rom. From the DNA no less!

I put cm10 stable release and gave it to my wife. No complaints so far. I'm using a nexus 4 and this bad boy is no slouch compared to the nexus.
The development was slow at some point when the 2.20 did not have root, not anymore.
The CM stable release is as stable as it gets. Battery is killer with default kernel.

No. Just no. I use CM10 everyday.
I'm not new to modding and current run Cleanrom 5.1 with BeastMod kernel.
On CM10, I constantly lost service when using GPS. This is a well known issue that people were having (I was on the "stable" version).
I like the phone and It's actually doing well on the CleanRom............ The point of this thread was the lack of AT&T getting an update to this device.....and now that they released a new one, I'm pretty sure this one is forgotten.
I think if you're subsidizing phones and putting people in 2 year contracts, you should be obligated to provide updates for at least those two years, just my 2 cents.... but greedy carriers will be greedy carriers.

Is phone still worth?

Battery is probably the weakest point of the phone. Stock battery gives about 2.5 hrs on screen with 10 hrs total , however, I use the 1900 mah anker battery which gives about 14 hrs use and 4 hrs on screen time.
There are also many awesome ROMs to choose from (sense, aosp, aokp, miui...)

Dude, you probably got a bad battery with your device. I can go through a WHOLE day (read: 24 hrs) of moderate use and still get battery (with right use and turn-offs I managed to get 5 days where having the phone on would drain it (I was in the middle of nowhere)).
I'm using the phone for two years now, and yes, the battery could be better, but with the right cinfig it's great (on CM ROMs I get some nice battery life, and Sense ROMs are fine, too).
As for performance, It's quite good for a 2 year old device. ROMs are smooth (although I think sense ROMs might have a memory management issue (across all versions I used - Sense 3.0->4.5), because after a few days of use, they become slow and require a reboot (I'm not a big fan of task killers). But there are solutions to increase RAM (you can have SWAP on about any partition you like).
Overall, ROMs run great (do not take my RAM issues as a deal breaker, it's only after a week of use, and even this is on a ROM that was never meant to run on the device). Smooth, and run apps well.
You won't regret it.
Oh, and almost forgot. I spoje of how the phone is, but the development community (and the community itself, beside the devs), is great.

sorry dude,....this phone never getting Official Android 4.2.2.....hell we didnt even get sense 4, until team venom and other devs got down to it, and today the main reason we have good roms is sharing the chip with HTC One S.....although even One S wont get official 4.2.2, so again not happening..
But still very good phone, been using it for 18 months and will probably use it another 6months to 1 yr....

I got a confirmation from the HTC India support that Sensation Xe will get a Update Possibly 4.2.2 but as usual they don't know the date
but here is the mail that I got from them
" Thank you for contacting HTC support.
As per your email, we understand that you want to know when the 4.2.2 upgrade will be available in India for the HTC Sensation XE handset.
We understand how important it is for you to have your phone upgraded to the latest available operating system in the market.
Since the phones manufactured by HTC are country-specific, so are the updates released for them. That is why an update available in one country might not be immediately available in another one.
We are currently working on the 4.2.2 upgrade, and it is slated to be released soon.
When this happens, you will receive a notification on your phone (if it is connected to the internet). "

Well, this is surprising...
To be very honest, it is quite possible the HTC employee who replied to you is a complete idiot....because i checked the htc website, and no such update is planned, not even for One S, which has better specs than sensation..
Although if it is true, it would be awesome...because the main problem for our phone is that HTC has not released a JB ION kernel...for Revelation/ViperS-JB, SebastianFM ported it from VilleC2....so if they release any JB rom with full kernel sources, it would be ****ing awesome...
Hell if this happens we might even see ViperS with Sense 5.5/6 and android 4.3
Although as i said, highly unlikely.

Well I Certainly Agree with you but Lets wait for a couple more months to see what happens And I believe HTC should respect the customer at-least the customer who bought the flagship products. and well the 4.0.3 combined with sense 3.6 sucks the life of the device :silly:
All I can saw now is Lets Wait :fingers-crossed:

I totally agree with you!! It really makes no sense upgrading the sensation which is a year (?) older than OneS. There is no benefit for HTC. I dont know where this email comes from or if it really is real. A few days ago they brought 4.2.2 to OneX+ and i think this was the last update for that too. So there will never be a new official updqate from HTC for OneX and below. And I dont think it is country-specific...
