[Q] How to reset CID back to tmobile USA

OK So I SuperCID my phone to find out that I didn't need to do it I have tried running the RUU install to go completely back to stock so I can reset it Is there another way to reset the CID back to tmobile

fastboot OEM writecid T-MOB010 this should write your cid back to stock cid

I dont get what you mean by that? if it worked to get cid 111111
then yes it will work to go back to stock CID
you just need to know your orginal CID, you can go into terminal and type
su enter
getprop ro.cid
enter
and it should out put your original CID even if you SUPERCID, reasons why i have no clue, i think its reading off your carrier signal cause when you do that in fastboot after you supercid
"getvar CID"
it will give you 111111

That worked for me, except for it all had to be lowercase except "T-MOB010" part... When I copied and pasted it as you have it, it answered with the list of proper usages of fastboot command. But it worked. ThaPirato properly thanked.

CID problem

Few days ago i had installed ICS 4.0.3 via changing cid (nordic countries) to htc_y13. Now.... my phone have troubles with this ics(i am disappointed), and i want to downgrade back 2.3.4 , but there is a problem. I can`t modify cid back to 111111(something like that) so no downgrade.
Any idea is welcome! (sorry for my bad english)

If you want supercid you need eight 1 (11111111) set via fastboot.
"Fastboot oem writecid 11111111" or "Fastboot oem writecid HTC_Y13" if you want to return to stock norway cid.
"Fastboot reboot-bootloader" anche check with "fastboot getvar cid"

I think you need to flash an official RUU compatible with your CID first.

Put your phone in fastboot usb and flash an appropriate RUU.

[Q] Wrong CID

Hi all,
I feel like I have looked everywhere and cannot find an answer for this. I have an at&t one x that is rooted and unlocked with a custom rom, however I somehow changed my cid from supercid 11111111 to htc__001. Is it possible to get supercid 11111111 back or at least wsc__001 so I can run the correct ruu on it.
Thank you in advance for any ideas or help

Just do s off then it will bypass cid... But I think you can do fastboot oem write cid 11111111( don't know how many ones there are)

fastboot eom writecid "htc__001" or whatever you want it to be minus quotations while in fastboot.

there's 8 characters in the CID

You can change the CID the old "manual" method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671396
Or if you do S-off, you can just change the CID with a fastboot command.
Sounds like you were one of the folks that changed to the quad core CID so you can flash a ROM from that phone. Scary.

I did not read everything I should have in the beginning. I was trying to run a ruu back to stock and did not know I could have done that with supercid ( which I had at the time) and thought I had to change the cid back to original and mistakenly thought HTC__001 was correct. After I realized WSC__001 was actually the correct original cid and now i can't change back in fastboot without errors. I got to comfortable and got ahead of myself.......

You don't need S-off to use the fastboot command to change it from what I understand you just need to have Super CID.

Right but without s-off, you can only do it once, away from SuperCID. After that, you're stuck.
OP has neither s-off nor SuperCID, which means he needs the exploit.

If you change your CID back to CWS_001, theoretically, you should not brick running the 2.20 RUU, I'm not sure what will happen if you were to upgrade to 3.18 at any point. Probably brick in that case.
Safest way to RUU is to S-OFF first.

There is no way to S-OFF without a ROM.
So your choices are
Unlock, flash recovery, flash rom, fastboot flash boot.img, S-OFF, RUU.
Or
Fastboot writecid CWS__001, RUU 2.20, Never upgrade for fear of bricking.

Do whichever one you want. Just remember without S-OFF, I'm pretty sure you will not be able to upgrade to 3.18+ without bricking.

2.20 RUU will run with SuperCID, bootloader locked and S-on. With the 3.18 RUU, you will brick under those conditions.

[SOLVED] Can i install a RUU Asia WWE 1.73.707 in my Sens XE if my CID is HTC_622?

I was looking for a stock signed RUU for my sensation XE, but i cant find the exact RUU for my CID (HTC_622), i just find a RUU for HTC Asia WWE and Asia Tawain, but my CID is Asia-HK-CHT.
Can i install this WWE RUU without fear?

Thanks a lot. I try install and it works 100%, anyway i havent the adb drivers instaled, but my problem was solved, maybe becouse my CID was 11111111 before i install the RUU.

Yep my device was SuperCID and S-OFF, but i was trying restore him to stock with S-ON, unroot and without superCID. I did not know if i can install a official RUU if i was superCID, but the install have proceeded.
Edit: Show u the infos that u request is not problem. Was not because this. Dont be so bad :crying:
