The badger service can also get out of sync with reality. There's various threads all over about how badger is getting the unseen SMS count wrong for the default stock messaging app since the January 4.4 update. No fix from Verizon yet other than a full factory data reset. Sometimes clearing data/cache helps some people, but not everyone. Not me
btw, since January 2014 there is in the Play store a widget also called "badger" that does a similar function, I tried it, but it won't enable on my Ultra

Even after using the fix market links option in titanium backup (which finds none missing) the market application still doesn't recognize over 100 Apps on my device. Any recommendations? Running Th3ory of ginger rom 3.51. Hard to know what updates are available if the apps installed aren't recognized by the market.

Nobody else has this problem?

Thank you for the response. Attempted to do this, however clear data and clear cache are both grayed out. Apparently this isn't even an option with the market app.
Any other ideas?
Anybody? I can't believe I'm the only one with this problem!

I had this problem earlier. When I rebooted the phone they weren't grayed out anymore. After clearing the data and cache my apps showed up
i have this problem too. i will give the above a try and give feedback.
Well, I don't know why, but the only thing that I found that fixes this aside from a reflash is to use the mybackup pro application's fix market links, reboot twice, and all fixed. So, if anybody else has this problem, give this a shot and tell me if it worked for you too. Kinda pissed that titanium backup couldn't fix it but mybackup pro could. I paid for TiBu
Hi all,
I'm on Humble 1.42 and things have been fine with the ROM. But last night I began getting a bunch of FCs against Google Services Framework. It slows down the phone something fierce.
Anyone know could be the cause of this? And more importantly, how to fix it?

I am on gummy charged froyo and I started having the same thing happen yesterday...
Strange...
This happend to me a few weeks ago. I found a thread that discribed a process of shutting off all account syncs, then clearing data on email, contacts, and calendar the resync everything and it worked great! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=792691 Try that link. I read somewhere that it could be more than contacts thats why I did all of them. You could loose some data if you do this. I didn't.
Nope, wiping data didn't help. I am still getting FCs on a regular if random basis.

Wipe all data, and caches. Reflash rom and that should fix your problems. Also if your trying to use google voice search ive noticed that all the roms fc on that. To fix that go into market download google search and use the new widget and that solves that issue. Hope this helps.

I have a unique issue after upgrading to ICS on my HTC sensation. Whenever I search a address on my browser and click on the address for directions, it opens up the google maps on my browser rather than the "Maps" app on my phone.
This is really annoying as I want to use the navigation tool through my google maps app. It used to be okay before ICS.
Any help or ideas will be really appreciated.
Try clearing the default settings.

I have already tried it but didn't help. I have checked the settings on my default HTC browser and maps both.
whats that an offical upgrade or a root update on here, if it is official try a system reset, if it is from a rom on here, email the author who created it and they maybe able to help, when i had problem either on a rooted and unrooted phone, the system factory restore always solved the problem, just remember to backup all your settings for your app before you do it, as once you do that there is not way back, until someone going to tell me other wise i hope i could help
there's an update ive avoided so far but play seems to have no shutup button. I was weary to update because the apps new permissions included view running apps. I see no reason for this and think its an unneeded invasion. anyone see it as a valid perm? so i guess i need a recommendation for another app is there something better?
If you're rooted, just get permissions denied free from the play store and enable disable which ever of the permissions you want.
Now for some of the permission, they want you to pay for the full app, but if privacy is a concern for you, well worth it.

Permissions Denied is def the way to go with that problem. But if you have being bothered by the Play store about updates, get Titanium Backup and you can use it to sever the market link between the app and your account so you don't get bombarded by update notices.
I suggest LBE for your privacy concerns.
As far as VM, I use Google Voice and have my voicemail number for my GoogleVoice setup in my phone. Now, I have separate greetings for many of my contacts and contact groups... In-line voicemails in my call log, etc.... its WONDERFUL! VMM sucks ****!

When Im restoring apps and data from TB its asking
"allow google to regularly check device activity for security problems....."
should I decline this or accept? currently declining because it looks like snooping but i wanna make sure

When I use TB I don't think I've seen that do you have a screen shot
HTC One (M8)
No I just kept declining the warnings but it happened with every app it restored

Accept them as it's just a security feature within Android. It checks apps to see if they have malware. There is no snooping but you could disable the settings in security settings and the development section where it asks if you want to verify apps. Hope that helps

Yep, all the above is true. I would recommend accepting them, as it is added protection from malware and the like (unless you are one of those estranged Google-tin-foil-hatters, in which case deny away). If you would like further proof of these security measures, or simply wish to know more about them, XDA actually posted an article on this today (what a coincidence). It both references Google's current security measures, which you are experiencing, as well as how Google is planning to change this for future app installations.

I thought I was going crazy. I've used TB before without any of those warnings. Is this something that Google does by default if downloaded by the play store

I have only gotten this popup from "installs of unknown sources", such as TB, or really any apk not installed from the Play Store. I have yet to get one from an actual Play Store app, but I will let you know if I do.
Here is a screenshot of what it looks like in case anyone was wondering
