Accept them as it's just a security feature within Android. It checks apps to see if they have malware. There is no snooping but you could disable the settings in security settings and the development section where it asks if you want to verify apps. Hope that helps

Yep, all the above is true. I would recommend accepting them, as it is added protection from malware and the like (unless you are one of those estranged Google-tin-foil-hatters, in which case deny away). If you would like further proof of these security measures, or simply wish to know more about them, XDA actually posted an article on this today (what a coincidence). It both references Google's current security measures, which you are experiencing, as well as how Google is planning to change this for future app installations.

I thought I was going crazy. I've used TB before without any of those warnings. Is this something that Google does by default if downloaded by the play store

I have only gotten this popup from "installs of unknown sources", such as TB, or really any apk not installed from the Play Store. I have yet to get one from an actual Play Store app, but I will let you know if I do.
Here is a screenshot of what it looks like in case anyone was wondering

After having nothing but trouble with my Sensation since June, I finally decided it needed to go back to Tmobile for a replacement. Thankfully I held off on rooting it since I know that can be a very hit or miss situation to fix prior to returning it. What is the best way to back up my apps and data so that I can get the new phone "looking" like this one? Clearly I can not root, so I need a solution that does not require tinkering. I have heard that all apps downloaded from the official Market should be available again (at no charge), can anyone confirm this? If so, how do I go about getting those apps? Also, will the same happen for free daily apps I downloaded from the Amazon App store?
Hi,
I'm also waiting for maturity and ease on rooting/unrooting this phone for the same reason you are
I had to do a factory reset on my Sensation after a couple of weeks and was pleasantly surpised to not only get my contacts back but all the apps I'd installed via Market.
Ensure both boxes are checked under "backup and restore" in Privacy settings and that you've been synchronizing with Google ok and you should get all the Market apps + your contacts and also your settings (like notification, ringtone etc) back
Sorry dunno about Amazon. Hope this helps.

That is interesting. Now, the question is did that work because you were using the same device? I am wondering how it works once you switch to a totally new piece of hardware with a different ESN and so forth.
You will keep all your maket app. Also, your Amazon app store purchase will be there if you sign in with the same account. Just backup your contact info to google and that should be it. The only thing that you will lose is app settings and data.

Use SMS Backup in the market, remember to keep your current SD csrd, the backup will be on it. Backup with Gmail works good too, both are available in the market.

Use MyBackup Root if you're rooted. It saves your stuff on your SD card and you can restore it on a new device.

You will be able to keep all of your amazon appstore and market purchases. You just have to redownload them while signed into the same gmail account that you made the original transaction. Be wary of some game apps however.. I remember there was a problem for some users using Gameloft apps where they were unable to redownload the games they had purchased and were told by the company that they had to repurchase them for use on their new device. I haven't had the problem since I back up with Titanium, but if root is not an option, then you've been warned

Hey I was wondering if anyone else has had apps install by themself, over the past few days a couple of apps have somehow showed up on my home screen. They don't show up under the app drawer or under apps in settings. Also ever since these started coming thru I keep getting notifications for other stuff like "lose belly fat" and "job offers starting at $325 and hour". I'm currently running aokp m6 if it helps. I've done a full wipe and it stopped for a day and then came back. I'll post some screen shots of the apps.
P.s. the ones installing automatically are the last three above the PayPal widget.

I too had some Apps install on their own. But they were apps I had before I attempted a NANDROID Restore, which for some odd reason failed and killed my Boot. So I was forced to re-flash my stock boot/ROM on my S3 (AT&T Flavor) and repeat the Rooting process. But once I started looking through my app drawer, some of these apps were being re-installed. Odd, perhaps some internal back-up that I'm not aware of on ICS.
Yea these are random apps that aren't even from the play store. When I click on them they open the browser and take me to a page to sign up for a subscription.

Have you installed recently any pirate app? An app not bought or downloaded from Android market?
I saw some apps that installs a patch that brings/installs apps and shortcuts on your cellphone. Tô solve this Just delete the program or patch and use an antivirus Just in case...
Good luck

I'm having this issue but its legit apps keep "updating" themselves baxk after I uninstall them
ie: bbm, flashify, (more I can't think off atm)
Some of the apps has Adware build in it, which means if you download the App, it will spam your Home screen full.
You can fix this problem by manually delete it everytime, to fix it permantly you need to delete the app.

Today I went as far as deleting history of them being installed in the app store... Waiting to see if they are back tomorrow
Update: still happening. Resorting to auto update off and still having to stop installs... Something to do with rebooting, or its triggering it
Right, I'm a PowerAMP pro user, but with a pretty old phone. The latest app is working but it's slow and sometimes lags. The poweramp site also offers the old 1.4 version which works right for me. Now, all is fine and dandy but I;m a bit annoyed by the app always showing up there to be updated. So I searched for a method to detach the app from the market and learnt that the bug has been solved long ago and apps can't be detached. So I tried changing the app's signature, of course with no luck, my android dev skills being close to absolute zero.
So I ask you, is there any way to do this? I am not pirating the app, so don't worry
I'm also trying to convince the developer to make an unsigned version of the app specifically for old timers like me, but with no success until now..
Just use LBE Privacy guard and freeze internet connection permission for this particular app..
So it will not connect to net and not telling you that new version is available..
we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.

If it doesnt need to connect to the internet for anything else you could use droidwall to block it from accessing the playstore
If your rooted you could use blackmart to download the app and never have to update it
Or see the updates notifications saying there's an update

On a related note, is there a way to remove apps from the "My Apps"list? It is really annoying to have to scroll through a list of apps containing tons of apps that you may have tried for a while and then uninstalled when you need to reinstall something. And why is the "My Apps" list in random order and not alphabetical?

As far as I know (and after some quick Googling), there is no way to remove any apps from the giant "My Apps" list. However, I use the Appbrain android market replacement, and it lets you customize your lists and sort them better. You can remove devices from view though.

Hey does anyone know why I have advertisements popping up on my phone all the time?
It's random and occurs in all apps and I checked for virus with a scanner and it doesn't say anything. Has anyone had this issue before and know a solution? Idk what I clicked that might have caused this bug. Ads usually are games that lead me to the play store and not anything explicit (if that helps)

Start in safe mode see if they still show up
If it is in games, if you're rooted try downloading an ad blocker. Since they blocked it from the Play Store you will need to Google it.

Still safe mode will disable all third party apps and any potential malware on your phone
think of it as a fail safe boot like how Windows has it
Heres how to get into it
https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/2852139?hl=en
how to get out of it? just shutdown your phone as you normally would and start it back
This is odd. Have you downloaded something from outside the play store? Do you have unknown sources enabled? If you didn't, then something is horribly wrong here. If you did download and install any APK, delete it.
If this is something from the Play Store itself, we have to report it.
To be completely safe, as others said, run the phone in safe mode. If they still pop up, flash the factory image...something went wrong. If they don't, it's an app.

Please take a screenshot of such an ad to help us see what the problem might be. Also have a look at installed apps to see which one may be causing it.(preferably list all 3rd party apps you have installed, or simply a couple of screenshots)
Also as mentioned you should try safe mode(long press the "turn off" button in the power menu), to see if it still happens.(if not, it is one of your 3rd party apps.)
You could try and use a nifty app from the Play store called AirPush detector. It will look through your phone to look through which apps might be showing you unwanted advertisements.

Popup ads? I understand ads in the game, but I've never seen ads that pop up in system apps. That's not allowed per the google play TOS. I'll be sure to report them if you give me the names of them. I have apps on there too, and most of them don't have ads, but the ones that do are always unobtrusive.

This. People keep complaining about Android having viruses when they're downloading all kinds of things like "free smileys" from random sites. 99.9% of the time, Google Play has clean apps, but there are still some apps that Google needs to filter out better. They need to completely ban air push and other notification ads or really anything that doesn't stay within the app.
EDIT: This wasn't meant to bash the OP. I'm talking about other people, and hopefully the OP didn't download this kind of stuff.

yea. these apps open in the background. and since they are "open", their ads pop up. these arent the same kinds of ads that open in the app itself, theyll open in the status bar or just pop up. again, they are usually included in free apps/games that are usually of lower quality.

the bk plugin 2 is the problem lol.
if you dont already have it in your app history, it will not allow you to see it in the store.

you simply CANNOT gain access to the bk plugin 2 if it's not already in your app history
EDIT: it's possible they reuploaded it, like pdp did. it seems the devs try to stay ahead of the play store by reupping every few days/weeks with minor changes and then google takes it down again.

I tried opening both of the APKs direct from that link, but it gave the same error parsing the package.
I downloaded it to my phone, then opened it from there and it worked fine. Followed the instructions and I was able to fully use it.
hi, i formatted my S9+ just when BK Manager and MDM Extension apks were removed from Play Store.
my question is, i have both of these apks files in my storage, will i be able to install them manually and whether the disabler app will still work as it was before? can someone kindly advise?
i have emailed the developer a couple of times asking the same questions, but not getting any response or help and was never my intent to ask for a refund.
File 1. com-kunkunsoft-packagedisabler1515128400
File 2. MDM_Extension_2_Full
as for the time being, is there any other good disabler app that we can use safely? i feel so lost without this app/feature.
thank you.

my question is, i have both of these apks files in my storage, will i be able to install them manually and whether the disabler app will still work as it was before? can someone kindly advise?
i have emailed the developer a couple of times asking the same questions, but not getting any response or help and was never my intent to ask for a refund.
File 1. com-kunkunsoft-packagedisabler1515128400
File 2. MDM_Extension_2_Full
as for the time being, is there any other good disabler app that we can use safely? i feel so lost without this app/feature.
thank you.

I have both apps installed and fully functional..
They both auto installed when I got my S9+ and setup my Google account.

BK was taken down by the developer due to Samsung. That said the developer provided a work around on their development blog

A bit of work involved but the app works afterwards.

I followed this but I still can't get it to work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or maybe it doesn't work anymore? I have recently used adb commands for other apps and they work fine.

The ADB command in the instructions is for a wrong package. You just need to change it to the one in their download link.

I did manage to get this working, but since then I've had a notification pop up on my phone a couple times which makes no sense to me. I'm wondering if this is a side effect of making that app an owner on the phone.
It tells me my phone is a "Managed Device" and that the organization may install software and make changes on the phone without my knowledge or consent.
A) That sounds scary, since I the phone didn't come from an organization.
B) Why is it suddenly popping up and telling me this? It's not asking for permission. It's not even asking me to acknowledge or read it. Just stating it like a fact. It's popped up at least twice over the last 2-3 days.
Any idea what's going on?

It's a response to trying to disable more packages than sammy wants you to. It removes a bunch of features. Sammy's way of trying to get people not to use package disabler.
What I did was disable all I wanted then uninstalled the disabler and it went back to normal with everything still disabled

Is there a list of packages that are safe to disable?
Package Disabler for Samsung is back
App Name : Package Disabler Pro+ (Samsung)
Available in google play store.
That's it. It's a one-click solution to deal with bloatwares.
Nice business model. Release app, complain that google removed it, re-release it and ask people to pay for it again.
