Who doesn't like playing games on their device every now and then?
Yesterday I downloaded Gameloft's Latest Asphalt (Asphalt 8: Airborne) :highfive:
Its a great game I'll admit but I hated the lil lag it has from time to time. I would like this thread to be all about the little tweaks that you know that give your Galaxy S Infuse the extra BOOST also, add the current ROM you're on. As for me I'm on the latest CM10.2 you can find HERE

Didn't think it was a Galaxy...
Anyways, I just overclock to 1600MHz and set the governor to performance. Although there is still lag so i prefer to play games on my Nexus 7 instead.

Been testing a few Games on my phone since yesterday.
Asphalt 8: Was lagging on the London and Tokyo course. I Froze unused apps and it ran like a charm, small lags on those courses, other courses run perfectly.
AVP Evolution: Runs perfectly with highest quality graphic setting.
Blood And Glory: Runs Perfectly... Enough said.
Conduit HD: Runs at great fps, no lag but sometimes enemy body parts appear transparent.
Death Dome: Lags alot in the game menu, actual gameplay is very great with no lag.
EPOCH: Short test but runs perfectly.
RavenSword: Runs great with minimal lag every now and then, 100% playable
Skiing Fred: Usually lags but after i froze some apps it runs smoothly (zero lag) with highest graphic quality.
FIFA 2014: Runs perfectly smooth, no lag!
My Thoughts: I think the major downfall of the infuse is the low ram (500MB) freezing some apps that would usually be running in the background gives the phone a real boost.
MY APPS AND SETTINGS
App Quarantine: uses this batch freezes apps it with a easy to use interface and it has a free version (which i use)
Phone Performance Menu:
Processor
Cpu minimum freq: 400mhz
Cpu maximum freq: 1600mhz
Governor: INTERACTIVE (haven't tried the others)
I/O Scheduler: BFQ(haven't tried the others)
Memory Management
Allow purging of assets: checked
Kernel samepage merging: checked
I've heard people giving seeder good reviews, you can add that to your apps, haven't tried it on the infuse yet tho.

Hey guys! I'm new to the infuse4g section of the forums since i just got by infuse 3 days ago, rooted it asap, and now running Beanstalk ROM. I was quite a gamer on my old phone Motorola Atrix4g (wildblood, Aralon sword and shadow, gta vc, nfs ms, etc) but when i switched to infuse, the performance and battery were significantly noticeable. I got Ravenswood Shadowlands earlier and it crashed within a minute of playing. Trust me it's a great game. Now to get to the point, i figured it's due to the RAM that the game crashes. Found a solution too. RAM Expander pro app which converts and uses empty part of your SD as RAM. You can set the value you want it to use. And since i've just barely used 5Gbs of my SD memory, i have 10Gb free. I let the app convert or SWAP 1500Mb (perhaps a lil much) and the game was running as smooth as Elvis Presley's hair. Lol. So for all you gamers out there who are are as crazy gamers on android as you are on xbox or pc, i recommend game cih, game killer, gameguardian for hax, and most importantly RAM Expander to play your games without lag or crashes.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do SWAP with an EXTERNAL storage. The RAM Expander app has been criticized for ruining the INTERNAL memory. It's best and safest to use an external memory for it is easier to replace incase of corruption.

Swapping ram on external is too slow, except you're using sdcard class 10. Lower than that class? Sorry, not enough for extreme gaming. Swap ram on external will give bad impact to your sdcard. Using your internal is more fast and safely. Its not my opinion, it is fact. For other trick, you can use your /data /cache and /system for swap ram. That's method doesn't give any disadvantage. Searching about "Turbo Boost" on xda, developed by harbir.
Dont use ram expander for swapping. It may would brick your phone. Many of user that bricked their phone with ram expander. Just info.

Hi everyone this thread is made to tell you how to play GTA III with less lag first at all you must be on gingerbread on bml with Antox latest kernel ( I have tested on: Valhalla Black, Barebone, SCOM and ICBIN and it give the same result, except Valhalla Black and SCOM that it seems to be more faster )
Now you must go to setcpu and overclocked with max. 1400mhz and min. 1400mhz, and put the governor in ondemand and I/O scheduler in deadline, then go to the governors settings and chance the up threshold to 80 ( I know I know that these settings arent "baterry friendly" lol but its just when you are playing games like GTA III)
And finally go to the GTA 3 app and in settings, display put the settings as the attachment and... voilĂ you have the fastest non supported gta in all the wild west! (if you have any problems pm me)

Try using different settings in the chainfire3d opengl settings. Reduce texture size, unroll texture, and reduce texture size. Play with those 3 options hopefully 1 will work for you. There is a post in the that is posted with different video plugins for different THD games.

Also I got gta3 to run just fine on ICS Paranoid Hybrid Rom. The kernel it has will not oc. The only thing with that is you would need to turn off your auto sync and free up some memory. Also turn down the graphics settings to about somewhere in the teens like 15% is a good starting point.

Did anyone play 3d games like frontline commando? I need to know if it is just me, I have slow performance issues on this game sometimes. YES it depends on the amount of enemies, but even so it baffles me to see it go visibly sluggish as I play. I dislike playing it less than 60 fps, and though I can believe it won't reach that all the time, I want to know if it is true that it can't play in a consistent 60 fps.
Gonna try will let you know in a bit

Thanks for your finds guys, I'm glad to find out that it does play very smooth. I am at stock rom on the verizon sgs3, I was going to jump the bandwagon of the international sgs3 owners, since its gpu is better. But I was wondering if adreno 225 gpu can hold itself for games like frontlinecommando, it has to be 60 fps all the time. SO you guys aren't running stock? Or have a lot of apps running in the background? I had it with many apps running, took all off except that game and it did improve the performance, but it still did go a bit laggy sometimes.
What are the best games out for the s3 graphics wise?
Batman,mc3, mass effect, shadowgun, asphalt 7.dead trigger.those games are great graphics, no lag, I'm on Verizon stock.

Any suggestions on a rom and kernel?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
It is subjective to the game you (your son) are trying to play. Apart from that, check the CPU frequencies and use a bit of overclocked frequency. Also, try to shift the Governor
He played them on his evo4g I guess ill switch it back to that.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
try jellyshot rom with marmite kernel.you probably won't have any issues for games destinated for nexus s.i play gameloft games with severe demands and have no lags or forced closures.
Like others said previously, a little overclock can go a long way. Just be careful not to overdo it!
So yesterday i was researching about gamelags on STOCK ICS.
I found out this solution somewhere.
Initially i did not flash ardatdat's kernel
but
after doing this plus flashing ardatdats kernal lags have like vanished.
So just do this thing
1.Go to settings---> developer options and check 'Force GPU Rendering' and restart your phone.
2. Use Ardatdats kernel v4.2 beta 6 *HIGHLY Recommended*
Games tried :
1. Temple Run Brave (15 minutes of play..No lag)
2. World Cricket Championship (10 over game..no lag)
3. Farming Simulator
4. Plants vs. Zombies
5. Stick Cricket
6. Stick Tennis
7. Temple Run 2
8. Race, Stunt, Fight 2
9. Drag Racing 3D
10. Fruit Ninja
Hope it helps

+1 for this. Didn't try games, but it's good to have this option always set to on. Increases overall performance.
I tried gaming on stock ICS.
Did try unofficial JB on our phone. But then vibration problems.
Actually some nexus version had an ICS lag in scrolling and gaming.
So someone posted it as an answer.
I tried it for gamelags of our device and it worked.
(Obviously the nexus solution did not have include the ardatdats kernel part )
@adam sir: please help us with the vibration problem in Pacrom

On ardatdat kernel use setcpu app to set both the cpu freq's to max(equivalent to performance governor). Then try a game...eg temple run...no lags.
But remember when u select performance then top level of clock will work and hence battery backup goes down.
@deep: buddy its my pleasure if i would suggest or make u understand the thing and become part of ur few moments.

Well if you know how to use SetCpu go ahead it will completely resolve the issue. (Never tried as i am not comfortable..but our senior members do recommend using it )
But if youre still not comfortable with the stutters we have to live with it till official JB arrives (maybe..on samsungs mercy :'( ) :sigh:
Atleast the frequency of the lags seems to go less.
My games even stuttered with PacRom :'( (stick cricket did )
