Phone will not stop resetting - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I was running Slim 4.3, and over the weekend my phone started to reset during the boot splash phase. I used Odin to go back to stock 4.1.2, same thing. I tried using Odin again last night and the phone reset during the process, now it keeps resetting at the "firmware update encountered an error" screen.
After searching, it seems it's the "stuck power button" issue, so I took the whole thing apart, cleaned each contact, and still, even without the piece that has the power/volume buttons attached, it's still doing this. How could it be a stuck power button if there's not power button attached?

It restarted in the middle of flashing with odin? Your probably hosed if it did.

if removing battery then reinserting it starts the phone then its the power button, the button(white) is attached to the mobo its not the the black button on the case
heres a pic

yeah, that little white button is the one I cleaned. literally detached the mobo to clean it all.
even keeping that button depressed with a screwdriver would still let me "hijack" and take control of the constant rebooting, but upon letting go the phone will enter the "firmware update encountered an error" screen and constantly restart from there. so, I can still get into download mode, just not for any length of time.

HTC HD2 is frozen in booting screen (Magldr V1.13)

Hi! So... I installed Magldr V1.13 many months ago and it has been very awesome. Yesterday, while sitting in class, my phone was in my pocket. (very rare occasion as I usually have it in a holster)
Anyhoo, it vibrated twice like it would for an email or text. I pushed the red (hangup) button to see the screen, and the screen stayed black but the buttons lit up. I repeated, same result. I took the battery out, turned back on and the phone stops loading after the "GO GO GO!". It just sits there.
I have taken the battery out and restarted it literally 12 times. I tried with and without SD card and Sim Card. I even tried holding in the yellow reset button. I don't know what else to do.
Any help is very much appreciated!
hope you find out the problem, I uesd to be in your situation, so sad

Always it happens something like that out of nowhere. So I think the solution is only one. Factory Restart the phone and re-install everything from the begging. If you don't want to loose your stuff try to copy paste the stuff you got in your SD card.

I know right? This is the first time I have been without a phone this long since high school, lol. How can I factory reset it without being able to turn it on? I held down the volume down+home+power button and chose the wipe from that menu. It didn't do anything. I even held in the yellow button on the back, still nothing.
Ok. So I finally found a way to factory reset my phone even though I can't get it to really come on:
1. With your phone powered off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
2. While holding the volume buttons, press the END/POWER button briefly and then release it.
3. When you see a warning message on screen, release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
4. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
Now, it's stuck on the "Stick Together" Tmobile logo

[Q] my phone keeps on making randoom reboot, and never turns on.

Hi
I dont know exactly what wrong with it. Yesterday, i got so many reboots. The problem is that when the phone reboots, nothing comes up except for the phone keeping on vibrating forever. I have to take out the battery, and insert it back in again. Another strange thing is that, sometimes, right after I insert the battery in, (without holding the power button) the phone starts automatically, but after the Samsung loho, it keeps on vibrating. Sometimes, it wont let me in recovery mode.
I did a clean flash of the att official Jelly bean via Odin lasf night to see if it still happened. The truth is, its just happened when I tried to get om facebook. It kept on vibrating until I pressed and held the power button twice to make it reboot. Difference between Att official jelly bean and other 4.1-4.2 rom is that att rom lets me reboot normally after pressing the power button (twice), other roms will maintain the same thing until I have lucky enough to get in recovery mode, and do a restore. However, doing a restore wont solve this prolem.
Anyone can help me plz ..
Thanks a ton.

32) Q. why does my phone not start and just bootloops and/or vibrates every couple of seconds
A. could be a "sticky power button", read the next question and the info section in the 1STOP STICKY
33) Q. how do i test for a stuck "sticky" power button
A. TEST: NO CABLE PLUGGED IN: Remove then reinsert the battery and if the phone turns on by itself and then takes approx 10 sec's to turn off and then starts vibrating every couple of seconds then its for sure a power button problem, its stuck, goto the link in the previous answer for a possible fix.
The key thing you need to establish is if reinserting the battery restarts the phone w/out u touching the power button, if so then the button is stuck
34) Q. how do I replace the power button
A. If you have determined that's its a stuck power button read post #16 PROCEDURE ON REPLACING POWER BUTTON, on that thread there are pictures b4 that post

had this issue a few days ago, it absolutely is. if you never touch the button it sometimes will turn on and work for a while.
You should try a usb jig. I hear they work the odd time for a skyrocket... Ha
Seriously though... power button.

This is not the issue. As all others have stated, this is the classic sticky power button issue and can only be fixed by a) mashing the heck out of it to dislodge the offending dirt or lint or whatever, b) running a toothpick or other small tipped instrument around the button, or 3) taking apart the housing and cleaning behind the button. PERIOD. Trust us, we've endured this a gazillion times and this is ALWAYS the answer.

[Q] [Q} Broken Power Button, Phone won't go into Recovery or Download Mode

The power button on my phone recently has stopped working. I need to get it warrantied, but I am running CM 10.2. I need to Odin back to stock, but I can not get into Download Mode or the recovery. When I go into Download mode, the initial screen pops up, the one where you choose to hit up to continue, or down to reboot normally. After I hit up, the screen goes black and nothing happens.
I really need to get back to stock, as Bestbuy are being dicks, and demanding I do a factory reset before they send my phone in.
Anything? I still need help on this.

This has been covered at least 10 times in the past few months we need a sticky. Take your battery out hold your phone so the power button is facing a table or floor and slam that side a few times it should work again (Temporary). You might need to hit it on the surface really hard 10-20 times before it works. Just not to hard or else you might crack the screen. I used a mouse pad to soften the impact. This trick no longer works for me so I ripped the button off. After about a month of doing this I needed to use things that would only hit the button to make it work. About a month after that nothing worked so I just took it off the motherboard and now boot from a off state by plugging into the wall and enter odin mode deny the prompt and it kicks me into a workable state.

I can get into the system just fine. When I go into the recovery or download mode, it doesn't stay in that mode. I tried the banging thing, and it made my power button go from intermittently working, to not working at all.
keep doing it until it works. The button is sticking that is why it reboots/stopped working.

It sounds like your power button is physically broken, and it is activating intermittently, which is stopping the phone from entering download mode. My only experience with this problem is my own phone but ultimately mine got so bad that I had to rip the button off the motherboard, as ThePagel did. Your symptoms sound the same as mine.
You can try this procedure to get into recovery, which works for me without a power button. You will probably have the same problem you are having now with the phone rebooting on its own before you actually get into recovery, because the power button is activating.
1. Take the battery out of the phone and unplug it from USB power.
2. Plug in USB power.
3. While holding down the volume-down button and the Home button, insert the battery (this is a little tricky).
4. The phone should start and warn you that you are entering Download mode. If you want to use Odin to return to stock, do that now.
5. If you want to get into Recovery instead, press Volume Down to reboot and then *immediately* push and hold Volume Up and Home simultaneously. The phone should reboot into recovery. Mine does.
If that doesn't work, and you can't get a new phone without returning it to stock, then prying the power button off the phone's motherboard may be your only solution.

Help, I screwed up my wife's phone! "failed to open recovery_cause"

My wife's phone was rebooting constantly, so I thought I'd go into recovery and factory reset it. Well, as it turns out, I'm a moron...I did from the "maintenance recovery" screen and now it's stuck in a loop. If I try booting like normal it'll say "recovery booting....." A few times, I've been able to hold power, vol. up, and home and get it to a blue screen that says "installing system update", then into the no command screen. Then when I do vol. up and power, I get a message that says "Failed to open recovery_cause" I'm trying to replicate that screen now to get all of the details off, but can't currently seem to get to the no command screen.
Any advice? Thanks in advance.
Oh, the blue light is constantly pulsing regardless of the state of the phone.
Edit: Tried it again and this time got a "Secure check fail" screen
Edit (2): Got in this time, got the error, somehow got back to the no command screen, got a longer failed to open error, see pics. Let the phone sit long enough and recovery eventually loaded. Did the factory reset from there and I'm back to the same point as when I first posted.

Have you been able to fix this?
Was able to boot into maintenance mode, then into recovery mode and reset. The power cycling was still happening, so I tried a shot of canned air in the usb port since I saw that suggested on other stores. After that it decided to not charge anymore. Ended up upgrading her to a galaxy s20.
Today it charges, started to go through the new phone setup process, but then the bootlooping started again. After a few rounds of that, it seems like it's powered off, but has a pulsing blue light.
Got it to boot into safe mode, still turned off, but it didn't loop this time and no pulsing light now.
Power it in again normally and it works for about a minute, reboots 3 times, works for a minute and repeats that process a few times. Then goes back to seeming powered off but a pulsing blue light

Bricked after a force shutdown, looking for advice

Greetings, I'll try to keep it short. My device is a Zenfone 7 Pro (ZS671KS)
I was using the phone normally and then for some reason it got stuck and I had to perform a "holding the power button" force shutdown to get out of it. The same thing has happened a few times before and it always boots back to normal. This time however, happened after I just downloaded and installed the latest firmware update when the phone was in its "waiting for reboot" state.
It has been bricked ever since and holding the power button will just send it into a boot loop (a brief vibration every once in a while). Whatever I do nothing will show, no logo no LED indicator light or anything like that. All black. Holding volume up or down + power also don't do anything. Vibration is the only response I am getting.
The phone itself was not modified in any way, it was never rooted, didn't have a custom firmware and stuff. Is there anything I can try to save it and all the data inside (data being my priority) before I give up and admit defeat?
Don't think I've see anything quite like it before, so any idea is appreciated.
