Need an Internal Antenna for my G2X!!! - T-Mobile LG G2x

It seems as though I have problems after problems. After replacing my cracked screen I accidentally ripped the internal antenna now I can not get any reception what so ever. I looked everywhere for an replacement but no luck. Please help!!

Wish you lick finding one...honestly at this point I would try to scrounge together the 90-100 bucks it would cost to just buy another g2x

But don't buy another g2x, seriously!
The noob says:
In the absence of a valid argument, 2+1=3 may be used to explain why the g2x did not get the ICS update!

ANTENNA!!

Parts can be expensive, then if you're doing the repair yourself, that's another risk factor.
If you can get some more money, get another phone altogether (be it another G2X or something else).

Combination pack I believe
Ebay is definitely worth checking - here in the UK, i got a replacement battery cover for just under a fiver.
Depending on the age of your device, you could also try sending a polite email to HTC support. A while back, I sent them message about my SIM/SD cover being loose, and they sent me a replacement at no cost to me. Took about a fortnight.
Official pricing for these parts (I've seen upwards of £15) can be quite extortionate...

Really?? You talked to HTC and they sent you replacement?
How'd you do that?
And yes I am pretty sure my device is still with the warranty..
Can you please explain how'd you do that and what I need for?
and also, thanks every one, but I think I found something for about 4.5 USD..

Thinking back, I remember submitting a polite request via their support webpage, stating that my SD/SIM cover wouldn't stay in place, and asked about obtaining a replacement. I didn't actually demand anything, and they just sent out a spare.

My desire hd back body is bend as it fell down. where can i buy back body and flash lid as they are damaged I came across full back body housing costs 28 us dollars and its chinese I think so. In some online websites they have stated as original and few as OEM, which one should I buy.
Here one local repair centre person said if we buy chinese they might not fit correctly/exactly here and there might buldge or wouldnt fit part in appropriate position, since its too costly can any one help me by suggesting to get correct one! thanks. am from India.
If it says OEM the quality will be good as the original.
I just bought SIM and battery doors OEM in few bucks and the quality is great
I bought replacement battery and sim cover cheap from Amazon

Replacing LCD+digitizer

About to replace my LCD and digitizer after an accident that has left my phone useless
I found a guide online and the items needed.
any heads up or pointers I should know about before doing this?
I hope you have insurance... First time I tried to open something electronic up, I cracked the screen! (ipod) be careful man
Sorry to hear man, but before you do anything you aren't really comfortable with I would suggest looking at some local cell phone repair shops. My brother cracked his LG G2x and the price for the digitizer was abour $75. We searched on yelp.com and called around and found a great shop that would repair it for $95 within two hours. Some places were charging well over $100 and would take at least 5 days to repair.
In the end though my brother was extremely happy with the experience and once he got his phone fixed he flashed a new ICS rom and it was literally a brand new phone! Good luck though my friend.
I cannot stress it enough, get an HTC digitizer! I bought a $30 one off of amazon and it gave up after a month. Get a cell phone tool kit and plenty of the two sided tape, just in case the screen needs to be redone. It's not hard to do, it just requires some time and a little patience. You'll do fine.

It's not that I don't feel comfortable with it, just never attempted it. I've done small electronics repair before though so i'm sure this will be fine.
Also thanks,
I'll let you guys know how it goes.
I'm replacing my wife's digitizer soon but I got a cheap one off eBay. Hopefully it doesn't have issues. It comes with a kit including the tools needed. Supposedly.
phone wont work after replacing the screen.
any ideas y it wont work,
The phone won't boot up at all? or is the touch screen not working?
Make sure all the ribbon cables are properly connected and are not broken. If not, you might have gotten a defective screen replacement.
RE:
Hi,
I replaced my digitizer.
To anybody who will do this in future, when you put the new digitizer in place, make sure that no dust or other things get under the glass.

[Q] Spare screen anyone?

Does anyone know where to get a replacement screen? On ebay I have found them for the One X and the One V for like 50 bucks, but for the One S, all i can find is the whole digitizer display for like $200. I may or may not have broken my screen already..... Just the glass part.
pics or it never happened

I think your stuck with buying the whole unit - Isn't that a feature of the Super-AMOLED display? It's all-in-one with the digitizer etc?
Yap, you have to replace the whole screen here, it's one fused unit.
Poop. Ok thanks. Now I just need to find a tear apart video...

Check here, http://www.abiresearch.com/research/1012500-HTC+ONE+S+Teardown would be an interesting read though I'm not sure how much they charge for the report or if it includes step-by-step instructions
SO I called HTC up to see how much it would be to fix. The guy didn't know how much it would be because its so new, but "based on other phones similar, it would be around $140." I asked for a range, and he said between $140 and $180. So I sent it in. They just emailed me stating that it will be $200 to fix. Seems like a lot. But what do you all think? The quote said for the screen and casing, so maybe there was something wrong with the casing as well? At any rate, does anyone want to buy my one s when I get it back? lol.

Probably a few days. I will most likely put it on ebay once I get it back, tho. Unless someone makes me an offer I cant' refuse.

[Q] Needing replacement phone ideas

Probably a bad idea, but i'm good at those. I'm trying to get a free phone under a factory warrenty because my speaker blew and screen is scratched up from a bad case i used. Thought about taking off the water sticker on the back and placing it in water then put the sticker back on before i sent it . But not sure that'll work. Anyone has any good idea's on how to go about that let me know.

Wait, so you want to make it appear as though your phone has suffered water damage?
No trying to make it look like it's a phone defect from factory. Not a damage

BAD choice to try to submerse it in water. While there ARE visible tags that show water damage, there are others that you may (or may not) be aware of that you cannot normally see. My advice, DO NOT DO IT.
Why not inform them that the speaker no longer works correctly? Also sending in your phone to try to get a new one is a long shot, and you would do just as well to buy the same amount it would cost in lotto tickets that you would spend in shipping, then it would be that you would get a new phone with warranty beyond what you currently have left on yours.
What you would AT BEST end up with is a REMAN phone of the same model.
That's what i was afraid of. N i blew the speaker using the ReZound Mod And the manufactor has restrictions for speaker volumes. I already got a new phone from them so Idk if i can just take apart my old one and maybe pull the sodering off a transistor or unplug the screen. I pay for insurance but they wanted 200 for another replacement . n i'm not wanting to pay that for a reman

Putting it in water does not make it look like factory defect. It voids your warranty altogether.

Taking it apart would probably be a bad idea as well. Pulling the solder off 90% of the time leaves a bit of a scorch that they can see and can easily say it was user damaged purposefully.
Aside of an over volt either bite the bullet and pay the insurance, but remind them that the phone is NOW under a $200.00 cost and if they want to charge you the $200.00 that they should offer you a different device.
Or you could buy the screen & speaker parts and replace them your self. I've seen a new screen recently for under $50.00, and the speaker for right around $30.00

Well i thought about it and if ican find a resistor or something in the phone, i can probably make it look like it had a surge? Haven't had time to take it apart and see the hardware yet. but Considering i've been with att for 7 years and pay 100$ a month plus insurance i haven't used ever. I think they owe me a phone after buying 3 at the 700$ price b/c i lose them all the time.
They don't owe you anything, just so you know. Being a good, longstanding customer rarely gains any points when it comes to replacement phones.
Mucking about in the internals of the phone is a bad idea. If they look in there, they will almost certainly know what you did, and you'd be on the hook for the full price (which they can and will bill you after the fact).
Depending on how badly the screen is scratched, I'd personally say just live with it.
For the speaker, buy the parts and replace it yourself if you want to, leave it on vibrate all the time if you don't. I would not count on getting a free device.

As others have said, if you're intent on getting a refurb, restore to stock GB, then pull the plug during the Kies update to stock ICS. They're not going to give you a new phone, and AT&T owes you nothing. At best, they'd give you a credit towards a new phone if you don't want another Rocket. At best.

Samsung I897 Motherboard or Whole Phone

I was setting this phone up to give away (for free) to someone as their first smartphone. But a bad charging port fried the phone. Does anyone have a phone to donate? I would take a complete phone or just a motherboard... or even a broken phone to salvage the motherboard from. Right now eBay doesn't have any that look like they would be usable (they don't power up). If you are willing to donate a working phone, I'll take pretty much anything!
Hey, thanks to anyone who can help me in any way!
If you know of anywhere I can find a replacement for very cheap, that would be great too!
Just curious... if I switch the motherboard, are there any problems I could have since the IMEI doesn't match the one on the motherboard?

Shouldn't be a problem. One thing though, some carriers like to pick on people about their IMEI so make sure you keep your original somewhere safe.
Thanks for the reply. I will be sure to write it down and keep it on a post-it right on top of the old one!
