The first reviews are starting to pour for Note 3.
Engadget Review
The Note remains unchallenged in its category. Excellent battery life, a brilliant display and top performance make it an excellent all-rounder for those wanting a bigger device.

The Galaxy Note 3 exceeded our expectations by lasting 13 hours and 23 minutes in our battery test, which is almost an hour longer than the Galaxy Note II. As a point of comparison, the Galaxy Note 3's battery mileage is just an hour shy of the champ, Motorola Razr Maxx.

The good -- Bright vibrant full-HD 5.7-inch display; stylus complements usage; new software tweaks; fantastic battery life; solid build; snappy performance; comes with latest Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean).
The bad -- Lacks control options for the camera and produces average photos; dated looking UI.

I hope that battery life holds true. That is my biggest complaint about the S4 and one of my biggest reasons for upgrading!
How come mUSB 3.0 port is in the "BAD" column ?
It's thanks to some manufacturer that new powerful and fast transfert system moves forward.
In my opinion, it should be under the "GOOD" column !

From the article
Samsung has actually changed the charging port on the Note 3 from USB 2.0 to the speedy USB 3.0 standard. That’s actually a good thing, but what the hell am I meant to do with the 50 USB 2.0 cables I have on my desk now?! Update: I was wrong, and didn’t realise it is actually backwards compatible with all my USB 2.0 cables. Splendid!

Probably didnt know you could use micro usb 2.0 cables with it and also the iphone plugs arent wide? get out who ever did that review. it is a plus all the way! any other phone offer it? thats right didnt think so
I hope the initial battery impressions are accurate. That was my biggest fear, that the battery life would be less than my Note 2.
I am surprised to hear praise for the new Touchwiz. Maybe Samsung has stepped up their UI game. Still, I can't wait to see JellyBeans' rom on this beast

None of the cons are really cons to be honest:
"chrome edges don't instill confidence".. really?
"one handed operation can be difficult"..I use note2 with one hand all the time and my hands are medium sized
"some gimmicky software featues".. so disable/don't use them
"unwieldy 3.0 usb connector" what does this even mean?
All the above seems like the reviewer was racking his brains to find something, anything, to add to his con list ...

I agree with all but the one hand operation with medium sized hands. Perhaps if your medium sized hands have long fingers and you play a guitar, or the device is resting on a surface, but no practical safe way to one-hand the Note like a smaller device and have same function. I have slightly above average hands and the Note is not practical with one hand- unless you want to drop the device a lot easier than normal. The point that one-hand operation can be difficult seems an odd point to argue- since it IS more diificult, because it is bigger. Even the S4 can be awkward for hecks sake and the N3 is even bigger.
I put this up there with Yeti sightings
The point about the guitar assumes your fret-hand is the same you use for the device

- IPS LCD display for better sunlight visibility than AMOLED
- 32 gb of internal memory standard for the lowest model
- A programmable "q button" that allows you to map any function you want to have happen when you press it
And of course all the basics of a high end superphone nowadays
- 5.5 inch 1080p display
- 3140 mAh battery
- Snapdragon 600
- 13 mp camera
- IR Blaster
- 2gb RAM
- LTE
Here's a video I found from ATT :

Techradar did a feature on it and found it to be a bit of a tacky version of the note.
Concerning IPS, I much prefer amoled now that it's avialable with more accurate colours. Before, IPS had the advantage but now the colour accuracy on the galaxies (e.g.movie mode) is good enough. Combine that with the beautifully inky blacks, and I never want another IPS display again. (except the one on my macbook
Except the rip off design and the lack of Spen on that big screen, anything on Optimus G Pro is great.

Jesus Christ all flagship phone screens are starting to be at least 5+ inches anyways, hence every smartphone is turning into a "phablet" (I hate the term too). So no, it simply is competing with all the other giants of 2013... including the Galaxy S 4.

As for the android version, it comes with 4.1.2 and while I'm sure both Samsung and LG are going to make it a point to try and update handsets to the latest android versions... I really don't care as that's the whole reason I come on xda anyways (so I don't have to rely on the manufacturer for updates)
i'll be sticking with the s4.
thinner, lighter, still an enourmous battery. dont need all that size in the screen.. although the LCD would be an upgrade if u ask me. AMOLED is nice, but i prefer the brightness for sun viewing.
Don't get neurotic about having the absolute "best" phone, ferchrissakes. Guess what? That bling new piece of latest and greatest shiny you just plunked down your cash for? It's always going to be second best in a few months. Use your device and enjoy it, and maybe learn to not give a rat's ass if it isn't the absolute newest on your block.

Agreed.
I'd actually go one further and say the tell-tale sign that you're 'with' the right device is that you're NOT that desperate to upgrade as soon as something new comes out. During my iphone-phase I was always excited when the new model came out - I know now it was partly due to the marketing and partly because I was never completely happy with them.
Even when better phones than the gs3 were coming out I was happy sticking with it until an upgrade that REALLY appealed to me came along (s4).

I have a preference for LCD over AMOLED as well (although both can be great). The outdoor visibility is a big deal for me so I'm not sure which one to get
Also the 32 gb of internal memory on the standard lowest $199 w/ 2-yr contract model isn't too shabby

I have an upgrade coming up so of course I'm going to chose the best phone for me at the time.
1) Removable battery
2) Outdoor screen visibility
Those are the top 2 features I'm looking for in my next phone and I'm not sure which phone to go with yet (LG Optimus Pro or Galaxy S4).

I agree. It's so cool that Samsung was able to push the max screen size to 5" in basically the same package as the SIII. But the jump to a 5.5" screen is a big overall package jump. To me, that's just no longer a phone, but falls firmly in the phablet market.
Not putting down the phone, or what features are important to individual buyers. But it's not in the same place in the market as an S3/S4, HTC One is, IMO.
The Optimus G Pro is competition for the Note series, not the S series.

What makes you think that Optimus G Pro has better outdoor visibility? S4 has great outdoor visibility from what I gather. And even Note II scores better than G Pro when it comes to outdoor visibility. Although Note II isn't bad when it comes to outdoor visibility, S4 kicks Note II up the butt and is just marginally worse than the One. Brightness is not the only thing that's a decisive factor in outdoor visibility.
Here's the outdoor visibility chart:

Again, brightness is ONE of the factors that helps in outdoor visibility. AMOLEDs have higher contrast ratios, so despite much lower brightness, it can still have good sunlight visibility. Not HTC One good obviously, but still good.

Hi everyone,
I got a good few hours with the Galaxy Note 3 over the weekend, so I thought I might drop a line about my experiences with the phone
This was the S800 version, and it had the AB binning of that SoC
[UPDATE]
Actually I looked into the bin situation some more after some of the enquiries here. The network guy I was in contact with said it was the AB binning as it was clocked at 2.3Ghz. I took that as read and hence posted that information here, however it looks as if even at the 2.3Ghz clockspeed there are two binnings for the GPU speed. Bottom line I can't categorically state this is AB bin, my apologies for the lack of clarity there everyone.
Here is what the Voodoo Report says, as you can see it depends on whether the 0007 revision corresponds to the AB bin:
Hardware : Qualcomm MSM 8974 (Flattened Device Tree)
Revision : 0007
Firstly, while its very subjective I really loved the faux-leather back. I like that there is now no 'correct' orientation for inserting the S-Pen, and that the S-Pen works with the capacitive buttons. The screen was set to the Film mode and was very good, no complaints whatsoever about pixel density, seemed a fair amount brighter than my S4 when out taking shots with it. It flew with the S800 of course, hardly surprising given it wasn't loaded with apps and has that much power at its disposal. Finally going to the widgets section didn't lag like crazy as per previous versions of TW. Although there were only a handful of contacts loaded, which may have made a difference, I did revel in seeing no lag whatsoever launching the contacts app (finally!). Running PPSSPP as a graphics stress test it managed ~23fps on Tekken Dark Resurrection, which is starting to get up into the playable realm (my Octa S4 for reference manages only ~11fps). On less demanding games results even better - Disgaia Afternoon of Darkness was basically perfect running full speed with sound and with frameskipping turned off (which makes me extremely happy). The S800 still isn't up to playing 1080p 10-bit video, which was to be expected. It did manage it slightly better than older SoCs though, so perhaps in the next 1-2 generations of SoCs we'll see this become doable. My time with it was too short to make any sensible comment about battery life, sorry.
Here is the RAM situation, seems the Exynos version has about 300Mb more free RAM going off Sammobiles, but here is a screen from the S800 version:

Free storage ~25Gb, a pleasant surprise as I expected less:
I was really surprised (and pleased) to find rapidly accessible defaults management is available:
It let's you choose the colour of the screen visible in the S-View cover:
The have further expanded one-handed use settings, in this slightly strange one you can run everything in a little window with onscreen buttons if you wanted (!):
I made a camera comparison and the shots are up at Flickr here. Included with the Note 3 are the Xperia Z1 I also had and an S4 and Pureview 808. Methods: All shots on auto, all shots taken at same time in same position, lens cloth used to wipe lens covers clean prior to every shot, several shots captured on each phone and best selected for the comparison (if you take one shot only and get one with a completely aberrant focus/white balance etc, in other words a poor outlier not reflecting the cams usual quality, then that isn't especially useful for a comparison like this). Caveats: In all likelihood neither the Z1 or Note 3 on release firmwares, the light in the outdoors scene a bit variable due to moving cloud cover. I have my own thoughts on the photos, but if you haven't seen those on Twitter already better to let you draw your own conclusions before I say a word.
I took a 31s 4K video and was quite impressed at how smoothly it handled fairly quick panning, that 31s cost 177Mb in storage and was recorded at 48Mbps (see mediainfo screen below). The Note 3 was having quite a bit of trouble playing this video back it is worth noting, probably also worth noting that my laptop would not play it AT ALL!
The following information I put in a dedicated thread in the accessories forum, but probably of interest to folks here too:
A few findings of mine from the weekend:
External drives work, but unfortunately NTFS formatted drives still don't work on stock ROMs. It had the power to spin up a 1TB Seagate drive! Unfortunately the drive was NTFS formatted so couldn't do more to see how well it was working, but definitely was powered with a solid indicator light. Promising.
The Smart Dock works with the Note 3
The S3/Note 2 MHL adapters definitely work
The Samsung MHL 2.0 adapter works without needing a charging input plugged in and IS outputting at 60Hz
USB audio working, I tried several DACs. The ones that worked were the HiFimeDIY, Tiny-M, HeadAmp Pico. Unfortunately Apex Glacier did not work (did not work on the S4 either).
USB keyboards/mice working as they did with the older Samsungs
PS3 controller working over USB OTG
Ditto for the Xbox 360 for Microsoft controller (which required an app on older Samsungs in order to work)
Logitech F310 controller works too
Ditto the Logitech F710
It also worked with a cheapie gamepad from Ebay (like $6), although button mappings seemed limited and did not have time to try it in emulators etc to see whether all could be mapped.
BT keyboard and mouse working, as expected
IR blaster via the inbuilt app works great with my LG TV
MHL and USB OTG do not work together using the Samsung MHL 2.0 adapter
Moga Pro gamepad working well
Tried several ethernet adapters, none work.
Unfortunately the one I had did not have the USB 3.0 cable/charger, so could not benchmark read/write speeds or charging speeds using that connectivity.
The Z1 seemed quite large in comparison given the disparity in display sizes:

Let's talk camera. I'm guessing the PureView was "baseline." The N3 and SGS4's cameras seem pretty comparable. The color balance on the N3 seems a bit off; especially on greens. Your Octa SGS4 has the Exmor RS sensor in it, do you think the N3 is using "R" like the S-600 SGS4 is? Was the one you were playing with final or pre-production? From the SGS4 camera discussions I know you know cameras. What are your thoughts?
Also, did you get to do any low-light testing? At the launch event Samsung called-out better low light performance as a feature. Smart Stabilization (stupid name) was thought to be a s/w OIS equivalent but appears to be tied to capturing better low light pictures.
Smart stabilisation: Set the device to automatically detect darker conditions and adjust the brightness of the photo without the flash.
The size comparison to the Z1 is pretty shocking; especially with the N3's chassis having a slot to store a 4" pen.
I will definitely post my own thoughts on the camera, but it's waaay past time I was asleep, so that will have to be tomorrow sorry.
Quickly in relation to the other things: yes, size comparison was a bit shocking! I think this was final hardware, but I don't think it was quite final firmware. No idea about particular sensor in use here, my partner in crime sent Supercurio a Voodoo Report, so hopefully he can help us out there.

Hi, thanks for the review! I just wanted some clarification on these two points:
Are you saying that you were able to use the official current Samsung Note 2 MHL adapter without needing the charging input plugged in? I ask, because if there is no reason to buy an official Note 3 MHL adapter (which will probably be released soon), then I'll just use the adapter for my Note 2. Just wanted to make sure...

Thank you for this extremely informative post. :good:
How did you find out that the Note 3 uses the AB binning?
Can you confirm that the GPU runs @ 550 MHz? And what about the memory clock speed?
Verry onteresting post. Now its almost impossible to wait....curious to grab that beast in my hand
Thank you for sharing your thought. It seems you know tech very well.
The nicest thing I've read the the reduced lag in touchwiz. I hope it's true. From videos I've seen, it still seems to lag in certain areas such as S Finder, S Note,
Also the little difference in size between note3 and z1 is because the latter has much unnecessary bezels on sides, top and bottom.
Can you confirm if the audio quality is better/louder than note2? Does the bottom placed speaker grills make a difference?
I found one thing that was interesting in this review. The screenshot of the RAM statistics shows a total of only 2.38 GB. My N2 has a total of 1.75GB. I know that some RAM is reserved for system/OS use, graphics, etc., but when the N3 was announced to have 3GB of RAM, I assumed this meant that the total available RAM would be something like 2.75GB, not 2.38GB. That's about a 370MB difference, which is not trivial.
I'm curious if the different variants of the N3 will have different total RAM numbers...

Yes that one , also please tell us if there was any other option in sview settings..like having more screens at that window! For example ,having calls logs , dial pad etc
The one handed option is awesome - can you tell us more? Also, what does the settings screen for one-handed use look like?
Thank you!

I do care about available RAM, because Android's LMK/LRU memory management still closes applications, and this causes issues (yes, I know the LRU settings can be tweaked). For example, on my N2, even though it has 2GB of RAM, apps (such as the browsers) still occasionally close. While it's true that they at least open up all the tabs from the previous session, the page contents themselves are not cached, which means that if I'm on a slow 3G connection, it can take forever to reload all the pages (I typically have at least 15 tabs currently open).
The more total and available RAM there is, the better. Memory management means basically nothing if it results in apps frequently getting closed.

@NZtechfreak, That sounds really odd to me. A phone is supposed to playback a video flawlessly which is shot by itself.
There is a Elysium 4k trailer. You can try playing that. It plays fine on my 2 year old dell n5110, and should be fine on a Note 3 too.
Nice review.

+1 bump .
This and an easier question just for the curiosity.......FM radio available?
.
Didn't bother upgrading to the Note 2 as it was bigger than N1 and had a lower resolution.
Now upgraded to the N3 coming from a custom JB N1 rom, obviously the N3 is buttery smooth and is a nice size and weight compared to the N1.
The screen isn't much bigger than the N1, as the N1 had a res of 1280x800 it has a nice wide screen, the N3, like the N2, has a more long screen. The N1 screen is the same width as the N3 but the N3 is longer. Obviously the res increase to 1080 is nice.

Phone retailers usually have what's called a Micro Sim Cutter.. I used one of those to cut mine to a micro sim. You just have to be careful not to cut the chip part, otherwise you're screwed.
Or if you're bold enough, you can try normal scissors.

The screen is bigger and the obviously the full 1080 res is nice. The performance certainly seems to be the main upgrade over Note 1 with the screen a close second, I never really used the spen so cant comment on how much of an upgrade the new one is but it looks tangible.
I got the quad core one.

How responsive is touchwiz on the device? I currently have an N1 running PACman and it's very good (ATM) but with touchwiz it lagged horribly I couldn't even stand the experience, was it just the N1 dual core couldn't handle the bloat?
Also does this device have an IR blaster to control a TV like the S4? Does it have the ability to keep the screen on while you're looking at it? Those are nice features potentially nice enough to keep touchwiz provided the experience is halfway decent.

It's very responsive. It might not be as responsive as HTC's sense 5 and Iphone's IOS slimmed-down interfaces, but it's very close.
It has everything that the S4 has, and then some. So yes it does have an IR blaster and all the gimmicky features.
I upgraded from the Note 1 too, this is what i think so far
- N3 is much, much faster. The N1 isnt a slow phone IMO but the 3 just blows it away
- Screen is a lot better resolution wise but i can't see any improvements in colour reproduction/viewing angles etc
- Front gorilla glass seems thinner and doesn't smudge as much
- Phone overall is lighter and doesn't feel as solid (sure this is due to the less weight, the build quality is just as good)
- N3 is thinner, narrower and taller
- S Pen is a lot better, feels like the tip is rubberised so it doesn't scrape across the screen
- No improvement for the speaker that i can tell
- Battery life slightly better (i'd say about 10-20% better than N1)

Not sure, sorry mate
One thing I hate about the N3 is the browsers, with the N1 we had quick ICS browser which gave you full screen browser, I havent yet found a full screen browser that has access to my chrome desktop bookmarks
Yes it does have an IR blaster.

Having had the N3 for a couple of weeks now I'll update my impressions comparing it to a Note 1.
First off it cements my idea at the time that the Note 2 was a sidegrade not an upgrade from the Note 1, I don't know about you guys but the Note for me is all about the large screen whilst being small enough to fit in your pocket and for some inexplicable reason the screen on the Note 2 was worse than the N1.
Anyway back to the N3
The size of the phone is great, it feels smaller than the N1, large because it is thinner and less wide, slightly longer.
Screen is good but not a huge upgrade size-wise from the N1, this is because the N1's screen was 1280x800 so was quite fat, the N3 is more lozenge shaped (it is as fat as the N1 though), the density of the screen at 1080p is though awesome.
Battery life is the single key area I would say where it dominates the N1, I had a slightly extended battery in my N1 and my N3 gets about double the battery life of my N1, I can get about 48 hours use from the N3.
Performance is the other area that shines compared to the note 1, understandably as you go from a 1.4Ghz dual to a 2.3Ghz quad, apps and transitions are smooth as silk in comparison to the N1.
The 2 keys annoyances for me were:
1) The lack of a full screen browser that syncs my chrome desktop booksmarks, Dolphin browser is the solution to this on the N3 and works fine
2) For some insane reason Samsung have placed a home selector widget on every screen, like swiping your finger to change screens isn't easy enough and you can't turn the bloody thing off! I have moved to Nova launcher to deal with this and if anything the phone feels snappier (probably due to Nova'a default of having faster transitions)
Thank you for your feedback straxusii . I liked because I did the same the note 2 was a no go for me as changing from a 16:10 (I THINK) aspect ratio on the note 1 to 16:9 in the note 2 was a big mistake in my opinion.
What I want to ask you is this:
how wide is the scren in mm in the note 3 compared to the note 1( if you still have it) not from bezel to bezel but from pixel 1 to pixel 1080 , has sometines there is like half a mm void after the bezel.
I had he note 1 for almost 2 years and love it. Then I sold it and bought the mega 6.3 .. and don't love ir has much , miss the amoled every second I use it .
and miss the camera . Mega 6.3 camera is rubish compared to the note 1 . Believe it or not. Went with the hipe of internet bul**** reviewers sayin the camera was like from the note 2 ..
So how is low light / indoors photo quality compared to the note one? And sunlight visibility ?
Yes I read all the reviews.. some many times.. but I take the word of a xda user anyday than a biased ignorant reviewer
thank you.

Great post. I always preferred Note 1 to Note 2 for the width and the screen. I keep hearing how great the Note 2's screen was but it looked fuzzy to me whereas Note 1 looked much better.
Getting my Note 3 on Monday anyway
One of the first things I did was hold the two screens together to compare and I found the note 1 screen was the same width as the note 3 screen, just the note 3 screen is longer.
I haven't used the camera much but it seems a big improvement, especially in low light.
Nothing can compare to the Note three. It is a technical marvel. The screen is clearer and shape and brighter and larger than any of those.

I'm loving it
I moved from the Note 1 too, for the same reasons.
The Note 3 is faster, and the battery life I am getting is much, much better. This is especially on screen use where I had 4 hours yesterday, and battery still at 45% with over 18 hours of use, including a couple of hours of music. I also find the OS update has improved drain when not in use, often not dropping by even 1% over an hour or more.
My only gripe is the screen resize / one-hand operation does not work without TW, which I do not use.
---------- Post added at 12:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:00 PM ----------
Now re-applied stock ROM to Note 1, and wondering what to do with it. It's too slow after the Note 3, but still a great phone.

In the face of 2.5K screens used in other flagship phones this year, the choice to avoid bumping the M9's screen resolution is a surprise. In some respects this is a plus point; we're fast approaching a point of diminishing visual turns, and a resolution bump only increases the burden on a processor. The gains would have been slight, unless you plan on pressing your nose up to the glass for a closer inspection.

Refreshingly, the power doesn't come at the expense of overall clarity, either. Google and Motorola have attempted a similar trick with the Nexus 6, but at maximum volume the M9 is a clear front-runner in this area. The sound tech has a positive impact on call quality too, as the uppermost Boomsound speaker above the screen is used during calls and provides excellent results.
Click to collapse
The M9 is blessed with a fearsome arsenal of tech, but it has attracted some negative attention for generating excessive amounts of heat. It's true that when engaged in a particularly taxing activity the phone's casing becomes noticeably warm, but no more so than many of its cutting-edge rivals, and we suspect the reason it's more immediately obvious here is because the aluminium casing is channelling the heat more effectively. During our review we felt we pushed HTC's device to the limit, and it never got uncomfortably hot - something which was claimed in many early hands-on previews by other sites.
Click to collapse
With this much power to hand, HTC has clearly had to put measures in place to shackle this beast. Running at full pelt, the M9's internals would usually drain its 2840mAh in no time at all. To combat this, the phone attempts to strike a balance by giving you just enough power when you need it, but eases off the accelerator once things become too demanding. It's a problem every mobile maker faces, as battery technology simply isn't keeping pace with CPU evolution, and all that can be done is to cram bigger power cells into phones. While the M9 certainly isn't the most ravenous handset we've encountered, its stamina is hardly awe-inspiring. You'll almost certainly have to charge it every day if you intend to make the most of the Snapdragon 810 chipset's potential.

Games run very smoothly on the HTC One M9, a consequence of improving the processor while keeping the screen resolution the same as last year. The Boomsound speakers bring audio to life too, making this feel - at times - like a genuine console experience.

HTC's handset has the added advantage of expandability too; you can slot in a microSD card of up to 128GB in capacity. If you're willing to wait, I suggest waiting for the Note 5. (October/November).
If not, the M9 or the Note 4 are your best bets. The 5.0" M9 has a lower resolution and a slightly newer cpu/gpu, but the Note 4 has 5.7", 2K and an AMOLED screen. Especially the latter results in better colours and infinite contrast (black=black).

Dropping a .nomedia file in every folder you don't need to see in a media player excludes that folder, and the files and folders in it, from the indexing service. 2k is not really a good thing as it wastes precious GPU power, but yea the screen overall is more gorgeous on the N4/S6
however there is one very imporant factor and that is GPU throttling, and the way HTC does it is better:
if you check the Anandtech reviews, the S6 has the exact gaming problem on every Samsung flagship, ie: jumping frame-rates, even though HTC throttles the GPU on the latest M9 base they do it with grace, it steadily slows down and eventually holds at the M8 speed (after 50 minutes), if you let it cool (for 2-5 minutes thanks to metal) it jumps back up and you start the cycle again, on the s6 the GPU throttling is constantly jumping up and down, which affects real world gaming:

The one major issue here that is visible from the FPS vs time graph is that Samsung continues to struggle with graceful throttling as the GPU attempts to always target maximum performance, which causes a strong rise and fall in frame rate as the GPU goes through periods of high and low clock speeds determined by the thermal governor.

With that said, there are still problems with Samsung Mobile’s drivers, as we see some pretty poor user experience from thermally throttled situations due to the oscillating behavior of GPU performance.

This is why i prefer gaming on HTC since the M8 because they figured out how to do gaming finally after years of mess on Android, they know how to do it the iPhone way, Samsung is all about brute but no care about actual real world experience, a jumpy frame rate like that will kill any gaming experience
i dont kow if that affects the Note series though, I think the Note surely has better thermal release than the SGS6 due to its size and no glass
In general the best gaming Android gamer is either the M8 or M9, especially when we take audio into account

I dont know what to buy :/ i use s4 atm and playing heavy games like mc5 is crap compared to s6. But therefore battery is crap in s6.
Conclusion: be patient for note 5 to arrive this september. Ill probably still buy the s6 in two weeks because of its performance. And then later the note 5

the main camera of U11 Eyes is same as the one at U11/U11+ but the front is different. The front camera is dual camera with 5 mb each and very good for making poke pic like apple portrait pic just it is taking longer time for HDR Proccessing
Ok thx, do you have first Screenshots about Battery Life???

What do you mean?
Too bad they ditched the stereo speakers, that just ruins the device for some of us.
sent from my Pixel 2 XL or Note FE

As per my experience the Battery life varied f4om one day to another as example if you spent the hole day with calls, sms and 2:3 hours internet via WiFi and 1 hour for videos the battery can stand up to 30 hours, but one day I was in vacation with my family And battery stand almost 9 hours because of camera heavy used for still pic and videos with flash another day I spent in vacation with my Family and I go to plane mode and the battery stayed almost full day without charge

Of course stereo speakers are better than others but HTC U11 Eyes equipped with one speaker that has clear high sound level and when you wear USonic Headphones you will feel that you are wearing speakers from Bose.

Thank you for this thread! I'm very interested in this phone, it seems to have almost everything I want: big battery, waterproofing, good camera, good speakers, good enough soc, reasonable price. Only a smaller form factor would make it perfect. I'm currently using a Galaxy S7 edge but the battery doesn't cut it for me anymore (after almost 2 years), especially when I connect my Gear S2 via bluetooth, and I want to try something new. Would you recommend the HTC U11 Eyes? What are the pros and cons? Where did you buy it?

Hi,
The Pros:
Excellent build quality same as HTC U11+
Dual front cameras which is good for Bokeh effect as portrait mode
Super main camera as HTC U11+
Hi and clear sound output by one speaker
U sonic headfone with great sound effect such as Bose sound system
CPU Speed is very good with a lot of ram I did not face any time any problems or issues for multi tasking or background apps
The GPU is sufficient to run heavy games as dead effect 2, need for speed no limits, asphalt airborne 8, the walking dead
GPS, WiFi and LTE are very good and supporting my needs very will
64 GB for internal memory which is more sufficient for a lot of media
Fingerprint sensor is very accurate and fast
Face unlock is very goodjust it talk little more times than fingerprint sensor and need sufficient light
Almost lag free Android OS with min. Bloatware
Good battery life for heavy user
Edge launcher with shortcuts (I didn't like it for taking pictures but it's good for some apps and it's up to you and you can deactivate it from notifications panel or setting)
The Cons:
Dual front camera is only 5 Mb for each and HDR Processing is taking little time
U sonic headfone without ear hangers so you have to adjust it every while
The battery life for heavy user will not withstand for 1 day almost half day for normal use more than 1 day
May be for some people the phone will be little heavy but I like its weight and size
The screen if very good for indoor just out door if you are living in sunny countries like UAE or gulf area is not easy readable in case of power saving mode but if you cancel the mode it will be very good for reading and watching
It is not come with good app for fitness tracker so I'm using Samsung Health and if you want heart reader by with it any fitness tracker with this option
By the way it is my point of view and I like my HTC U11 Eyes. I hope I answered most of your points if you have more questions just ask you are welcome.

Thanks for the detailed answer, I just saw your message, I couldn't find the phone where I lived so I bought a Huawei p20 instead.
