Google now type app question - Android Apps and Games

hi guys quick question. I have android ICS 4.0.4 which unfortunately can't use the swipe cards that Google now provides even with xda hacking.
I'm looking for an app that's similar to the cards Google uses ie weather, calendar, location if possible. I have metro which is very cool but no where like Google now.
Is there any app that is similar in api from the top menu with swipe.
Any recommendations welcome as from my searching the threads on xda Google now is not possible on rooted 4.0.4 due to Google restrictions - there not much fun are they lol.

A great app is utter! which can be found on the Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brandall.nutter
Its pretty good imo

hi thanks for the reply, I have utter and agree it is good, but it's not quite what I meant, it's the drop down cards that give info is what I'm looking for like the later versions of Google now.
Thanks

Are you sure that you have searched xda for a working Google now for ics? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983337

Android Market

I apologize in advance if this question has been asked before, I checked the forums and didn't find anything related to my question.
Before I left US for deployment 4 weeks ago, I was running stock 2.2 and have access to every app in the market, free or paid. Few days ago, I downloaded and installed the newest cognition mod and since then seems like I can't buy or get certain apps. Pandora radio, beautiful widgets, USAA bank app, etc are not available. I kept getting "the requested item could not be found" message. I can still download a lot of free apps but majority of the apps/themes and esspecially the paid apps that "we" XDA members used, are not available. Is it because I have a rooted phone or different location? I'm new to the android world so I'd appreciate any enlightenment. Thanks.
where are you? if youre out of the us then thats why. i live in australia and i cant get a lot of the apps that i see on here.

It worked! Thanks so much!
btw, from my experience, Market Enabler doesn't always work. Whenever you're looking for an item which you can't find on the market, you can come to XDA and ask for the APK. someone might be able to download it for you.
cheers

[Q] Is there a ROM that gives the Inspire 4G the look of a Galaxy S2?

Hey guys I have an HTC Inspire 4G. I was wondering is there a rom that makes it look like the galaxy s2 touchwiz? Thanks!

ummm, this is a development site for a reason. Searching sometimes takes more then 2 tries and reading 1 thread. We can't help lazy. The information provided by Dar was the short form of what was/is a long stretching debate. You really should thank him since I can tell already you don't like to do more then the minimum work to find your answers. If you want touchwiz that bad and don't like go launcher, get an S2. Those are your only options.

I love that line. Reminds me of Ron White's You can't fix stupid. Someone should get that integrated into the site header. (Sorry to be off-topic)

Hi

HI
I don't think you need to make a new thread for this question. As I said on your last thread:
Python. said:
I think there are a few but it is often better to search websites individually. The search engines normally miss sales and you will find a cheaper price by searching the main sites listed above.

You can use Google Product Search, via ticking the 'Used Items' box, and Google itself. Just search for the phone name and words 'sale' and 'used' and limit the result to the last week or month. These will give you the most results and you are less likely to miss sales. But, I would suggest you search individual sites.

Searching for APK's VS Petal Search

Hey all.
Interesting thought, after my last post. Isit easier to have multiple apps for downloading APK's or 1 app created by Huawei called Petal Search, I was hoping for feedback on the last post but it went a bit south. To me it seems an easier experience to have only the one app searching for it all? Whats your thoughts?

I guess it depends how good you are on tech etc....Its good to have one place to find everything but some maybe super used to going through Aptoide, APKPure
It will be a help for those using HMS handset for the 1st time.
I have a P40 Pro and use petal search. Don't bother with anything else now.
Couldn't care less if I had Google or not as I only used it for the Internet, occasional map and downloading apps - like 2 a month max.
I phone cloned my apps and those that wouldn't come across I used app gallery. Was frustrating when they weren't on there but stumbled across petal search now use that and it's all good!

That's my thought, its all good having a home screen full of 'market places' but to me its like going to the whole saler vs going to a super market and looking around, Its all on one app and it does near enough all the leg work.

I imagine if I gave my mother a handset with AppGallery and Petal search, she would easily manage with no confusion, however if I gave her a phone with 5,6,7 different app stores, she wouldn't have a clue. It reduces the option of choice to make it simpler.

I have been loving petal search, combined with phone clone ive managed to get everything over, however, I do want to point out im not a heavy app user. I will download apps like once a month and I update it when it needs updating if ive found its starting to glitch out!!
Petal search o me means I don't really touch appgallery, if its not on petal search I go through MoreApps and its usually on there!
Have you tried More Apps?

to be honest the new Non-google range may not be for that type of customer, possibly try one of Huaweis older handsets with Google still installed and you'll get it at a really good price atm

I was using multiple app stores but after finding petal search life is much easier. Everything you need is pretty much on there without having to chase the multiple different app locations to find them

I have found that Petal search has become my once stop plaace to shop for apps. Not really needed any other place. I do recommend having More apps as a back up though but tbh you will barely use it.

I haven't missed any apps on Aurora .. and it is the most polished interface fwiw.
still suggest that you install .. apkpure appstore, aptoide appstore, aurora appstore .. and have a play with each, then decide.

Can you filter out GMS based Apps from PetalSearch results?

Hey guys!
Got my hands on the P40 Pro last Tuesday - the hardware is undoubtedly gorgeous and I've managed to get 99% of my Apps working...
I read you can use PetalSearch from the AppGallery to source Apps from multiple different sources. However, there's been a few times when I've been overjoyed to find an APK, but left dissapointed once downloaded, as they've been GMS based. Insight Timer is one example...
Anyway to filter these out to make finding my top App APKs easier? (HMS)

It's not so much the security, I'll find an APK via PetalSearch, download it, and it's a GMS based App so still doesn't work... There's gotta be a way to filter out what will and wont work, right?

App gallery has meditation apps in it or petal search will no doubt have many others to pick from that are not GMS. For me it's all about understanding that HMS has alternatives to GMS based applications. I haven't really found anything I can do on the phone. Is there anything else you've had difficulty with?

To be fair, I was pretty impressed with what went across via PhoneClone the first time! The meditation apps available from AppGallery are pretty naff at the moment, HOWEVER I've just used PhoneClone for a second time to bring Calm across... Can confirm it DOES work - It's more popular than Insight Timer, so maybe I'll stop being a little app hipster and get with the times

petal search is probably the best thing to use for all apps, everything you need should be on there with no issues.

not quite sure what you are asking but if its whether its realisable, its been spot on for me :good:
From my use you cant filter them out however it does say before clicking an app that it may not work which suggests it may be GMS based.
I've been using it for a few days now and i feel that it is pretty good. Most things i have not have any issues with, You might get a message saying that you cannot use it without google services. Then it still works any way.
