Hi - General Questions and Answers

HI

I don't think you need to make a new thread for this question. As I said on your last thread:

I think there are a few but it is often better to search websites individually. The search engines normally miss sales and you will find a cheaper price by searching the main sites listed above.

You can use Google Product Search, via ticking the 'Used Items' box, and Google itself. Just search for the phone name and words 'sale' and 'used' and limit the result to the last week or month. These will give you the most results and you are less likely to miss sales. But, I would suggest you search individual sites.

HotUKDeals is, also, good. Meanwhile, this tool searches most product search engines: MegaShopBot.

He wanted to know if there was a tool to compare phone prices, used and new, from different websites. But then he edited his post to 'HI' because he had posted the same question before...

Where are all the free apps?

I am a phone junkie and have owned just about every type of phone there is and out of all of them WM Smartphones seem to have BY FAR the least amount of free apps available.
Am I just looking in the wrong places or are there really hardly any free apps for smartphones?
www.google.com would be a nice place to start.

Somebody thinks they are funny eh?
So the fact that you don't list even one good site for apps tells me you don't know of any good sites either. I guess I was right and there simply aren't that many.

Yes, I am familiar with Google.
What sites are good?
Most sites have a few Really crappy free apps mixed in with all the pay apps. Or worse yet have a few free WM Smartphone apps mixed in with all the free PPC apps.

Great, I'll try that thanks.
i know this has been said before, but search google.
stop being lazy and start using the search engine you will probably find a lot more by inputting the right "search string"
you will probably get more of an answer from that rather from this forum because most of these users are just laughing at you.

Are you for real?
You bump a many months old thread just to say: search Google?
Do you seriously think that was not the FIRST thing I did?
Also all the other months old responses were saying: search Google, so how did you think you adding: search Google was going to be helpful?
Anyways it doesn't matter I have upgraded to a new phone 3 times since this thread.
But I still stand by what I said: Comparitively there really aren't that many free apps for WM Standard,

Sites like xda

I was just wondering if there were other sites out there like XDA. I am pretty sure I came across one for Samsung phones but I cant recall. Can anyone tell me if there are other sites like XDA? Thanks
There is nothing compared to XDA!!!
Have you tried one of this?

Does anyone know any great websites that are safe to download .apk files from? I have been using another website but they do not have a good selection of apps.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

I don't know how safe these all are, but you can always do a quick and dirty Google search -> http://www.google.com/search?q=-inurl:htm+-inurl:html+-inurl:asp+intitle:%22index+of%22+%2B(apk)
Google can be so very useful!

[Q] anandtech review?

So does anyone know if / when the anandtech review of the nexus 5 will be released? Can't find it.
And why exactly would you need it? I think there is already every information imaginable on the forums or in other reviews.

Because i would like to read it.. Do i really need to list reasons now why i'm looking for a review?
Really surprising there is no review. Guess they decided the nexus was not worth it.

No, I've just been wondering that if you were looking for something specific we could provide it
If you look at Brian Klug's twitter feed (@nerdtalker), you'll notice that he's both working on it and sick of people asking about it. At one point he made a joke about adding 300 minutes delay every time someone asks.

No, the anandtech review are just an interesting read and typically a lot more detailed than other reviews, that's why i've been looking forward to it.

Great! I've been waiting for it too. :good:
People who matter listen to what Brian Klug has to say, so if there's something that needs improving and he points it out, there's a chance something will be done about it.
Edit:
Great review, as expected!

High praise indeed.

Searching for APK's VS Petal Search

Hey all.
Interesting thought, after my last post. Isit easier to have multiple apps for downloading APK's or 1 app created by Huawei called Petal Search, I was hoping for feedback on the last post but it went a bit south. To me it seems an easier experience to have only the one app searching for it all? Whats your thoughts?

I guess it depends how good you are on tech etc....Its good to have one place to find everything but some maybe super used to going through Aptoide, APKPure
It will be a help for those using HMS handset for the 1st time.
I have a P40 Pro and use petal search. Don't bother with anything else now.
Couldn't care less if I had Google or not as I only used it for the Internet, occasional map and downloading apps - like 2 a month max.
I phone cloned my apps and those that wouldn't come across I used app gallery. Was frustrating when they weren't on there but stumbled across petal search now use that and it's all good!

That's my thought, its all good having a home screen full of 'market places' but to me its like going to the whole saler vs going to a super market and looking around, Its all on one app and it does near enough all the leg work.

I imagine if I gave my mother a handset with AppGallery and Petal search, she would easily manage with no confusion, however if I gave her a phone with 5,6,7 different app stores, she wouldn't have a clue. It reduces the option of choice to make it simpler.

I have been loving petal search, combined with phone clone ive managed to get everything over, however, I do want to point out im not a heavy app user. I will download apps like once a month and I update it when it needs updating if ive found its starting to glitch out!!
Petal search o me means I don't really touch appgallery, if its not on petal search I go through MoreApps and its usually on there!
Have you tried More Apps?

to be honest the new Non-google range may not be for that type of customer, possibly try one of Huaweis older handsets with Google still installed and you'll get it at a really good price atm

Just got the P40 Pro - using Petal Search a fair bit - has Aurora Store got everything u need? I just want one place to go to find my apps - not used Aurora yet though...
I was using multiple app stores but after finding petal search life is much easier. Everything you need is pretty much on there without having to chase the multiple different app locations to find them

I have found that Petal search has become my once stop plaace to shop for apps. Not really needed any other place. I do recommend having More apps as a back up though but tbh you will barely use it.

I haven't missed any apps on Aurora .. and it is the most polished interface fwiw.
still suggest that you install .. apkpure appstore, aptoide appstore, aurora appstore .. and have a play with each, then decide.
