[Q] LG G2 Root - General Questions and Answers

Hello hello! Just looking for some help rooting my LG G2 (Verizon edition).
I'm trying to use the method posted by thecubed, which can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45692679#post45692679
I have all of the drivers installed and the phone is recognized in the adb but whenever I run the root.bat file in adb I get the following errors:
Looking for device...
Error: protocol fault (status read)
Determining carrier...
Error: more than one device and emulator
GOTO was unexpected at this time
I've rebooted both my PC and phone, only have my phone plugged in via usb and am still getting these errors. Other posts have talked about these problems, but the solutions either didn't work or didn't seem to apply to this case. Any suggestions or pointers would be appreciated, hopefully this isn't the worst question in the world...
Cheers,
Rich

Try this..... http://theunlockr.com/2010/10/11/how-to-root-your-android-phone-superoneclick-method/ ..... Just remember to follow all the instructions to the letter. Good luck!

Thanks for that, I'll give it a shot in the morning! Really getting frustrated with having the verizon update notification flashing in my face all the time, scared I might actually hit it one of these times!

Well the one click method didn't work either, continually gets stuck at starting server :/

What's the output of "adb devices"? For what it's worth, I had done the OTA first and was still able to root using this method.

I'm having the exact same issue with my AT&T G2. Did you ever get yours working?

Issue with root file stuck
I follow the directions to root to the letter. I have repeated issue multiple times so I know there is some issue preventing this on PC or device.
I get to step of running the root batch file. CMD opens, press key to continue.
I get:
Looking for device...
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037*
* daemon started successfully*
_ --- then next line just blinks indefinitely.
This through standard driver software installation that pops up when device connected.
When phone was connected I selected "for internet" --> "Ethernet" as it is a Verizon LG G2 and I noticed someone had made that distinction in one set of instructions. When doing so, phone notes that "entering into USB Debugging" so I would be led to believe that is correct.
Any suggestions or thoughts on this? Have looked around and found nothing in terms of this issue on forums, nothing specific to this issue or similar to this. I have seen issues with those driver installations for other devices but the fix usually consisted of a toolkit for that devices root with the fix built in so little help there...HELP

you could try this, it's worked

Help with Locked Proscan PLT-7035-PL Factory Restore.

Hello everyone and well I have to say I am at my wits end over here.
I have literally just spent hours trying to find the solution without luck. So any help will be greatly appreciated.
I am completely new to android as well and this only makes things much more worse.
I have a Proscan PLT-7035 a cheap tablet by all means and my son accidentally locked the screen under too many password attempts.
I have been trying to factory restore it only to learn this Chinese hardware apparently was not shipped with a recovery option.
This means I cannot put it under USB debugging and I cannot disable mount the mass storage device. So when I connect it to my computer I am able to access all the files but that is it. Honestly it is the biggest 4G usb stick I have ever owned.
Anyway I have tried multiple guides to root and what not as well as I tried multiple button combinations to no avail. It also seems I am able to enter recovery mode by clicking the power button + volume down after shutting the device.
You can hear the sounds in windows of a device being connected and disconnected. There was also an uninstalled driver when i checked Device manager. This is how I was ultimately able to install the drivers as per this guide
It now shows under Android Device as Android Composite ADB Interface.
Now I have tried using Rockchip Batch Tool but It also gets stuck on <Layer 3-3> Test Device Start.
I have tried ICS Root Unlocker and I get error :device not found.
I try adb devices and no devices are listed.
My device is clearly not being detected and I do not know if this is due to driver incompatibility or due to the fact I cannot set the device to USB debugging.
I already disabled driver signature enforcement I'm on Win8Enterprise N x64.
Now someone here was kind enough to upload these and I have absolutely no idea. How to install them or have them run.
So you all can see I've been almost everywhere and in all honesty I have no idea what to do next.
Any lleads will be Godsend. Thanks in advance.
Please let me know if this is in the wrong category. Thanks

[Q] Help bootloading stock Xoom to Root to kit kat

I have read all types of forums to Reboot Bootloader. Yeah, I know stuck at the beginning, not a good sign.Any way I went to Developer.android and got SDK. Followed various suggestions and have it on machine. However the windows 7 won't recognize device. I downloaded Motorola Device Manager for the drivers (I beleive this may be the issue) and it found no updates. I have debugged checked on Xoom, but jellybean icon shows up intermittently. When I type in CMD prompt to adb reboot bootloader, it doesn't recognize the device.
Other CMD commands suggested during instruction video worked verifying I had ADB installed coirrectly. I checked the device in control panel and it is unidentfied.Device properties has this error" Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
Please, can someone assist. I think that I need the drivers, but the motorola Device manager is the only tool I can find and I dont think it has the drivers, I could be wrong, but this is what I'm guessing.
Ok. I found online that the new USB 3.0 has issues with this process. I plugged into a 2.0 USB and I'm in business. I've gone through unlocking. Now I can't locate the Universal Xoom Root Zip. All tutorial links that I could find go to a link that no longer has the file. can someone point me in the right direction or send me a link to the file- Thanks for the help
Ok status update. I was able to find the file and have successfully Rooted. The question, now is I restarted and I have an Green Android robot on my screen with Tiamat engraved on front stomach area. I believe I was in recovery last. IS the Xoom doing anything in the background. I don't want to interrupt something if it is running. I have downloaded BiGPART and Omni 4.4 components but I seem to be stuck
Wow... Not one response. I was able to figure it out and now am the owner of 4.4

[Completed] Persistent ABD problems with HTC One

Hello!
I have an HTC m7, and am using Windows 7 to interface with it. Long story short, I have twrp on it, but no working operating system. For a moment yesterday, it appeared successfully in the results of /adb devices, though when I tried to push a new rom to the internal storage on the phone using adb sideload, it failed (made it to 100% but then said failed, and when I tried to install the created .zip file, it failed as well). Since that attempt, I have been unable to see my phone as an ADB device again - I've reinstalled HTC drivers, tried various usb cables, and gone through many iterations of /adb devices (blank) /adb kill-server. After failing to find a solution elsewhere on these forums or elsewhere, I come to you.
I'd love to know if there's anything that could cause the phone to disappear after it had been previously connected, and if there's some further steps I could take to get it to work!
Thanks for your help,
Devin
Hi there!
I suggest you try returning to stock, since you're having troubles with adb. Tho, it must be a driver issue, or cable, or USB port. Usually it ends up being the cable in cases similar to yours.
Anyway, if you have no luck, try returning to stock....here's a great guide,
>*HTC One*>*One General*>*[GUIDE] How to Return to 100% Stock
Of course you will need to install recovery and root again after.
Any questions on this can be asked in the guide thread.
Good luck!!

Hmm ... you have already posted on xda assist ([Completed] [Q] Need rooting help LG L80!).
So I assume that you rooted like described in the linked thread.
If you have issues, you can either ask in the rooting thread, or in the Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
Good luck !
Thread closed and thank you.
