Hello hello! Just looking for some help rooting my LG G2 (Verizon edition).
I'm trying to use the method posted by thecubed, which can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45692679#post45692679
I have all of the drivers installed and the phone is recognized in the adb but whenever I run the root.bat file in adb I get the following errors:
Looking for device...
Error: protocol fault (status read)
Determining carrier...
Error: more than one device and emulator
GOTO was unexpected at this time
I've rebooted both my PC and phone, only have my phone plugged in via usb and am still getting these errors. Other posts have talked about these problems, but the solutions either didn't work or didn't seem to apply to this case. Any suggestions or pointers would be appreciated, hopefully this isn't the worst question in the world...
Cheers,
Rich

First, this problem is not common question..
My phone is TAKE(EV-S100), I think there's no one who has this phone if there is no Korean who is reading this thread..(?)
I could root my phone when it was froyo, but when I upgraded my phone to gingerbread(2.3.4), it doesn't root with any tools.
I tried SuperOneClick all versions, zergRush, update.zip and boot.img.
Result is:
SuperOneClick : Step #7 : waiting for device
with adb.exe of phones upgrade folder : Step #7, but not responding..
zergRush : There's no progress after *daemon started successfully*
update.zip : There's no information for my phone but I tried droid's root-update.zip, but eocd error and signature error.
boot.img : when I enter bootloader mode (I could do adb reboot bootloader), then the driver what named 'kroid' but not installed, can't find driver.. so when I enter "fastboot boot boot.img", prompt says "waiting for device"
If someone can resolve this problem, please answer..
I believe my phone can be rooted someday..
Please understand if I wrote wrong grammer.
I'm not American and I studying English but I'm clumsy English yet..(?)
Same problem to me any one can us.............

After reading through some of the development forums I found that I did not have my phone in internet connection mode with the usb attached. It needs to be on this mode in order to run anything. If you have that running not sure what else it might be. I have been able to troubleshoot alot by looking through the devo forums for my phone.

Try this..... http://theunlockr.com/2010/10/11/how-to-root-your-android-phone-superoneclick-method/ ..... Just remember to follow all the instructions to the letter. Good luck!
Thanks for that, I'll give it a shot in the morning! Really getting frustrated with having the verizon update notification flashing in my face all the time, scared I might actually hit it one of these times!
Well the one click method didn't work either, continually gets stuck at starting server :/

What's the output of "adb devices"? For what it's worth, I had done the OTA first and was still able to root using this method.
I'm having the exact same issue with my AT&T G2. Did you ever get yours working?

Issue with root file stuck
I follow the directions to root to the letter. I have repeated issue multiple times so I know there is some issue preventing this on PC or device.
I get to step of running the root batch file. CMD opens, press key to continue.
I get:
Looking for device...
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037*
* daemon started successfully*
_ --- then next line just blinks indefinitely.
This through standard driver software installation that pops up when device connected.
When phone was connected I selected "for internet" --> "Ethernet" as it is a Verizon LG G2 and I noticed someone had made that distinction in one set of instructions. When doing so, phone notes that "entering into USB Debugging" so I would be led to believe that is correct.
Any suggestions or thoughts on this? Have looked around and found nothing in terms of this issue on forums, nothing specific to this issue or similar to this. I have seen issues with those driver installations for other devices but the fix usually consisted of a toolkit for that devices root with the fix built in so little help there...HELP
you could try this, it's worked

Hello!
I have an HTC m7, and am using Windows 7 to interface with it. Long story short, I have twrp on it, but no working operating system. For a moment yesterday, it appeared successfully in the results of /adb devices, though when I tried to push a new rom to the internal storage on the phone using adb sideload, it failed (made it to 100% but then said failed, and when I tried to install the created .zip file, it failed as well). Since that attempt, I have been unable to see my phone as an ADB device again - I've reinstalled HTC drivers, tried various usb cables, and gone through many iterations of /adb devices (blank) /adb kill-server. After failing to find a solution elsewhere on these forums or elsewhere, I come to you.
I'd love to know if there's anything that could cause the phone to disappear after it had been previously connected, and if there's some further steps I could take to get it to work!
Thanks for your help,
Devin
Hi there!
I suggest you try returning to stock, since you're having troubles with adb. Tho, it must be a driver issue, or cable, or USB port. Usually it ends up being the cable in cases similar to yours.
Anyway, if you have no luck, try returning to stock....here's a great guide,
>*HTC One*>*One General*>*[GUIDE] How to Return to 100% Stock
Of course you will need to install recovery and root again after.
Any questions on this can be asked in the guide thread.
Good luck!!
Ok so I finally found a way to root this b***h the LG L80. I've had 3 Androids before - Sony and two LG's, rooted them no problem, but this one is just ridicilously hard to root... So I found yet another way the ioroot method, but again I'm encountering some problems, this time it goes like this... I installed all the latest drivers and all, latest SDK and ADB, and everything's fine, the adb shell works and all, but when I put it in recovery mode and choose Apply update from ADB my Windows say's The device is not recognized, one of the devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and blah, blah...
Could someone help me get the adb sideload thing working, please?

Hmm ... you have already posted on xda assist ([Completed] [Q] Need rooting help LG L80!).
So I assume that you rooted like described in the linked thread.
If you have issues, you can either ask in the rooting thread, or in the Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
Good luck !
Thread closed and thank you.
Hey there, I am trying to install either Lineage or DivestOS on a HTC One m8, I am able to install adb and fastboot, enable USB Debugging, unlock the bootloader, install recovery and then enter recovery. I am also able to wipe data but when trying to sideload I get an "adb: sideload connection failed: no devices/emulators found" error. I have no idea of what is causing this issue, but I am out of ideas. I have now tried doing this on 3 different computers, 2 of them with win7 and 1 with win10. What am I doing wrong? I have no idea what the issue might be since the only abnormal thing I have noticed is the fact that the "MTP" driver fails at installing (or loading idk) with code 10. Could that be the issue? I need to install some OS asap since my main phone just died and stock m8 is unusable because of how slow it is rn, so I would really appreciate any help.

Yes, get the MTP driver correctly installed.
@kpinal
In your case ADB makes use of a HTC One M8 suitable Android USB Driver ( ADB & Fastboot ), not of any MTP-driver.
Look inside here:

On my Windows 10 PC I couldn't get the fastboot command to work with my HTC, now with the driver you've provided I can actually use it but it still gives me the same error when getting to the adb sideloading step. On both of my Win7 PCs the sideload error remains and MTP driver still fails to install. I finally gave up and used TWRP loading the zip from storage, but If someone has any other suggestion for the sideload issue, I'd appreciate it, since I might just need to repeat this process again at some point and I like that method the most.

I ran into this problem. For future reference, the issue is that when it reboots into recovery, the driver on your pc changes. You have to go into device manager and manually change (update driver -> let me pick) it to "ADB Interface". Should be able to see it in command prompt after that.
