So I if I want to flash back to stock recovery, download the zip file, unzip, and there will be an img file that I can grab? I know how to flash img files via fastboot. Just wanted to make sure the zip file had the stock recovery. Thanks.

Go hear http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/28162-house-of-moto/ install this tool follow all the directions to a T then you can flash full fxz or save data fxz. The nice thing is save data fxz only wipes out changes to the system you made while rooted it doesn't mess with apps or passwords.

I just want to flash an img file to get stock recovery. I don't care about retaining anything. Going to wipe device most likely anyway. This just seems overly and unnecessarily complicated. Flashing an img file via fastboot is simple.

I read where SafeStrap is available for the Droid Maxx XT1080M..Is that so..and if so..please post a link..

The last update I remember seeing from Hashcode's twitter account said that he was still testing Safestrap for the Moto X to try to work out a bug. I haven't seen any specific mention of the Ultra/Maxx/Mini yet. He did say that the Moto X was his favorite phone to date.
If there is going to be a download, it will be here: http://blog.hash-of-codes.com/downloads/safestrap/

You won't regret this device, trust me ... It says 800mhz on the box but I run at 1ghz and most shifts are overclockable to 1.8-1.9ghz. Sense isn't too bad either, i.m.o, way better than blur. Look forward to seeing ya around the forums!

Since you are on 2.3.3 you will have to downgrade hboot and root from froyo. The link I posted goes to a post with links. The first link of that post is the one you are looking for...

ok sorry not familiar with down grading i usually just flash a tar file or run a windows batch file that automatically roots and runs the scripts automatically for you..

Like Drob said, to be able to get full s-off you'll have to downgrade your Hboot using one of the above mentioned methods. Or you could upgrade to 2.3.4 and use HTC's half ass unlock tool.

I guess technically you dont have to use sdk/adb.. Im sure you could use terminal to temp root and push the misc.img, then use ShiftRR (an automated root for 2.2.) once you have ruu'ed.

Yes, but in the long run it's going to be better to have all that ISH set up anyway .
Just a question and please dont take it the wrong way, but how does one plan on working on deving/porting miui or anything for that matter without the sdk/adb? I feel it is VERY important to have adb setup.

There's no need to use the unlock bootloader thing from htc, Indirect (over in the dev section) has a root method for 2.3.4 (if you choose to update to 2.3.4 anyway) that doesnt involve using the unlock tools

Well if your taking it to Sprint. Upgrading it to 2.3.4 is probably one of the first things they'll do. Before they even trouble shoot it . if you end up keeping the device, and they upgrade it. you can use the method suggested above. The link is below.

i took it to sprint they didn't give me a new phone sigh... and they did some stupid test whitch i know i could have done myself being a hacker and all.. i noticed phone freezing lagging like crazy my epic at the time was wonderful.. but they didn't upgrade firmware at all.. so i guess how would i upgrade to 3.4 ??
Setting>system updates> firmware update.. rooting does solve all the problems that the phone has

ICS back to 2.3.5 fxz fix zip file -- Files pulled --

Here is the zip file to apply to the 2.3.5 fxz, to make RSDlite flash the FXZ files properly, from the ICS leak. The steps are the same as they were for the 2.3.6 fix. Just unzip these files over top of the original fxz files.
+++++++++++++++++++++++NOTE++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I have pulled these files, so that no else attempts to flash the fxz and brick thier phone. DO NOT ASK FOR THE FILES, I will not give them out knowing what happens to those on ICS that try to fxz back to GB.

LOL... You forget I had to think of several ways to possibly break this before I posted it for the rest of the world, so if there were issues, I knew what to do... How do you think I was able to flash that whole process 4 times... I built this yesterday afternoon, before I even started the process of testing the OTA out. I HAD to make sure we could flash back, so we were not like the OG Atrix guys, who can't flash an SBF now.
Thank You Jim, you are awesome.

the first time it would not boot, because the lbl file and the mbm were not loaded, and it is critical in this move back.... they have done something to the BL, to make flashing a little harder. I did a hex dump and a decompile of the new mbm file and it has a spot in it that looks like a check for correct lbl file being loaded from the fastboot flash.
The issue with the recovery is because it flashes a new recovery, and that was on the second time I had to flash the fxz, due to a bad root...

Did you use my patch to patch the 2.3.5 fxz for the ICS leak that I posted yesterday?
I am thinking the secret is using a script and not RSDlite. That is how I always restore my phone is with my own scripts, that I was getting ready to release before all this started.
Jim

One click root? All in one tool?

Nothing to see here, I'll wait til the official tool is released by the dev.

Depends on the root method. If this replaces the rom then yeah you will lose everything, but if you use this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792342
then you will not have to change anything and it's pretty straight forward.

I had to do a factory reset on my phone yesterday to troubleshoot another issue, so I can't say 100% but the few changes I made earlier today (wallpaper, lock screen shortcuts, ringtones, installed Pandora) stayed in place. From the script, it just copies files over and then moves them to system partition during next couple boots. It does not wipe data / cache / dalvik like when you load a new ROM.
I don't know about the java tool here but the one Aquila mentioned ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792342 ) works perfectly.
You won't lose settings or have to clear anything. Its really useful if you're on the VRALG1 firmwares and don't want to revert to LF2 from flashing a rooted ROM.
I downloaded to my pc, then hooked up my gs3 nothing? What an I suppose to do?
Never mind it worked

I'm going to go ahead and say it...
Adam posted this in the development thread where they are working on cracking the bootloader. If he wanted the masses to be using it or if it was ready for the masses to use he would have posted it outside of that thread.
I don't know if it was bc of this thread or not, but this got picked up by droid life and he had to take it down off the R&D thread.
Stuff like this shouldn't be reposted outside of that thread until it is ready and the dev who came up with it says it is ok to do so (or just posts it himself).

My Atrix 2 stuck at its logo

Hi everyone,
I have upgraded from my 2.3.6 gingerbread to 4.0.4 and I have installed atrix 2 bootloader just to install CWM, but when it required to reboot, I did reboot my atrix 2 and it never been able to load up the phone. I tried to use RSDLite to flash back to 2.3.6 by using this 1FF-olympus-user-2.3.6-4.5.141-111212-release-keys-signed-ATT-US-GAS_NA_OLPSGBATTSPE_P012.sbf but it said "Unable to retrieve interface handle".
I have no idea how can I get my Atrix 2 to work again, can you all please help over this issue?
Thanks

Thanks
Somvannda

Okay so basically you need to flash it back to the 4.0.4 with the fastboot file for 4.0.4 and rsd 6.
Fastboot 4.0.4 file

This is the dev. section, only development post belong here. You should ask in the Q&A section. You're flashing all the wrong things and are working towards a brick. Check the noob thread, it has all the answers you need.

Are you flashing the right firmware for your phone? You have an AT&T one?
And that first sbf file you tried to install is for the original Atrix. You have an MB/ME865 phone?
Sent from my phone's mind
I am not using AT&T one. And yeah I have MB/ME865 one..

That's because you can't just downgrade, even if you are unlocked. There is a guide somewhere in here that'll show you how to downgrade, though.

Does anyone have a drawback when going from an application back to the home screen? I have that all the time

I'm guessing you mean 4.1.2? Since 4.2.2 wasn't released for these devices.
You'll have to find the FXZ file for 4.1.2 (shouldn't be too hard) either here or over at droidrzr, then use SamuriHL's RSD Lite method (also not hard to find) to install stock 4.1.2 back on your phone. I'm pretty sure that'll work - worked for me when i had to jump from DU to the latest KK build to grab a stock file.

I know for a fact this can be done, I just did it (as mentioned above). Find the FXZ file and use RSD Lite. Very easy to do.

FXZ is such a long process... Just go visit DroidRZR.com and see the few treads i have for debloated 4.4.2 and also FlashBack. Yes the gpt cannot be reverted, but switch bootloader setups is as simple as a flash. Just read before doing so and make sure one understands what one is doing.[emoji41]

Thank you guys for your help.
I found that on another forum that while downgrading you have skip gpt as mentioned here by nobe1976 & tz files as well to make it work.

DU 8.2 Bluetooth woes
Has anyone been able to resolve the bluetooth issue with incoming calls? I can make outgoing calls fine with bluetooth. Incoming calls connect, but neither side can be heard. Switching to speaker works, but switching back to bluetooth is silent. I also noticed that audio output (via headphone jack) doesn't work with bluetooth audio enabled, and even then it is very, very low in volume.
Disable "non intrusive" in "call settings " then answer call using your phone's button not the one on your blue tooth device

How can I access call recording settings like audio source? The only settings I was able to find were recording format...

Cannot boot Dirty Unicorns v8.2
Hi guys, I'm using an unlocked XT926 and can't seem to get DU to boot. I flashed it two separate times and when rebooting, it would just go back to the recovery. Thinking maybe it was corrupt, I redownloaded and tried flashing a few more times. Each time, it gets stuck at the red Motorola logo. I make sure to flash everything but internal storage/SD card each time, and I'm on the KK bootloader as I just came from SlimKat. Anyone know what might be going on?
Edit: Redownloaded and moved over to the phone a third time...seems to work! Will report back with any issues.
Sorry about the double post, but I can't find the original to edit it.
Anyway, the ROM is working well but I'm having a strange issue. When someone sends me an MMS, it shows in the notification bar, but when I open my messaging app, there's nothing there. It happens every time, and when I try to send a picture message, it is endlessly stuck at "Sending". Anyone know what could be causing this or how it could be fixed?

You didn't try very hard. Try the link just after that one, something about "Weekly Jenkins Builds" and/or look at post #80.
Why do I get to dig through a thread for a ROM I'm not even interested in? You should have been ignored until you grew enough brains to figure it out yourself. I guess it's my fault for responding to you.
