Hi Guys,
I would love to get some feedback & beta testers for our newest Android app, Glove. We are specifically looking for testers in the Bay Area (San Francisco, San Jose etc...) and Israel.
Version 0.8 (beta)
Title: Glove – Find the best network coverage
Languages: Currently only in English
OS: Android 2.3.3+
Description:
Glove runs for 3 days and based on your phone habits, tells you which carrier is best for you. After 3 days of running, the app easily lets you see which mobile carrier will provide you with the best service. The app also gives you the ability to contact the carrier it has chosen.
Wireless carriers all have different levels of coverage within their networks. Glove does all the work of figuring out which carrier will give you the best wireless service and then gives you a recommendation.
Features:
NO ADS
Runs silently in the background of your phone for 3 days
High level of accuracy in finding best performing mobile carrier for you
Gives you options on how to contact your best carrier so you can make the switch
User friendly UX
Does not disturb during calls
Compact size.
Low memory consumption.
More to come…
If you have any question, suggestions, bugs please write it in this thread.
To become a beta tester, all you need to do is join our testfairy page (Links below). Would love feedback on the app usability, performance, features, etc.
New feature requests are also welcome.

[FREE] Navigation by Telmap Navigator & O2

Hey ho,
I just wanted to share this information with you:
In fact I can only tell that O2 customers in Germany benefit, but the official Telmap page names a lot of other providers. You may try to connect your provider.
o2 Germany - Telmap Navigation
Official customers overview
This is an off-board navigation, which is reloading the data consistently from the Internet. That this does not result in a money pit or a reduction, data traffic caused by Telmap is free in the O2 network.
The map presented in a simplistic form comes from NavQTech and is kept up to date. Next, the software has a library of attractions, hotels, restaurants and shops which are located in the vicinity of your position. The instructions are not only visually but also read out to mitigate the risk when driving.
The software is available for Android, Blackberry OS, Windows Mobile & Symbain and other phones from Sony Ericsson and LG (the only requirement is a GPS receiver). A WebOS version will appear around the middle of this year as it was not yet fully developed.

After a few days of testing I can say: AWESOME!!!
Works like a charm, with up-to-date traffic information. No crashes, no lagging.
Definitely worth a try.
edit:
About 90 views and not a single word. That makes me kind of sad.

[APP][Foursquare]CheckInReminder -- Benefit you and me

Hi All:
Try CheckinReminder at google play.
checkin-reminder.net/
Inspired by some friends' complaint about always forgetting to check in, we came up with this neat app to remind foursquare users to check in at any place they visit. To serve this need, we design a smart algorithm to detect when the user stays in a place using smartphone sensors. Our algorithm can intelligently turn on/off GPS and other sensors to maximize user's battery life. We believe many Foursquare users will benefit from our app, especially those who are fighting for mayorships. To refine our algorithm and make our app better serve users' need, we collect some anonymized location information for research use.
How to use:
1. Link CheckinReminder with your Foursquare account. It will run in the background afterwards.
2. If you stayed at a place, and when you are leaving, a notification will pop up. Click the notification to check in the recommended place immediately, or click the 'Search Around' button if you prefer a different place.
3. You can choose the type of alarm in the app.
Hello, can you please provide a link to the app? Even if you say its on google play its always good to provide a link, specially for new apps since they dont always show up when searched for.
Thanks.
Link provided thank you
Thank you for reminding, as I'm a new user here, I would not be albe to add external link in my post.

E-ink Display Phone

Hello, i've created a Concept from my newly formed company called edgeware. It's a phone offers a month battery life with an E-ink Display. You're able to do everything that you're smartphone can do. With enough help and support, we could get this device to market and show the world that E-ink is the best way to go for optimizing our battery life. With support to create an vast ECO system and an amazing app selection such as the favourites. Facebook, twitter, Gmail and many other services that we just can't live without on our smartphones. Whilst we are waiting for those apps to be made, me and the rest of the team at edgeware have created the best operating sytem and the best webkit, running with Javascript, HTML5, flash and many more. This is utterly the best webkit that anybody has made for any platform.

I opened it on a phone so I will comment only on the mobile interface. Probably all points would be the same for the desktop version as well.
1. Drop Times New Roman font from the links. You look like a cheap Chinese package. Try using only two different fonts throughout the website. At the moment you have 3-4.
2. Your logo is retro, in a bad way. That fort is suitable more to a Charleston dance school than an IT website.
3. With your own domain why not have a personalised email as well. [email protected] is really unprofessional.
4. The name irresistibly reminds me of the GSMarena. Why do you think you will survive in the shadow of that website and at least 3 others that offer exactly the same thing/product? What makes you different?
5. Those news that I've opened, it was fun reading them.

[APP] GPS Drag Racer FREE

Hi guys,
I just made my first Android app and I'll really appreciate it if you gentleman can give it a whirl and provide feedback, here or on the Play Store.
The app uses your GPS to clock your acceleration and top speed.
How does it work?
Switch on GPS
Open app,
Wait for GPS to lock, and stand completely still
Then, do a drag race to record your best:
0-60km/h time
0-100km/h time
Quarter mile time
Top speed
Stand still again to reset the clock. Repeat as many times as you'd like - the app will automatically only save your best times.
I would really appreciate if you can install my app, test it and rate it (in app, play store, or here).
My two main concerns now are:
How accurately the GPS works on different devices. I myself have tested on Samsung Galaxy S4 upwards, and LG2 upwards. The LG's couldn't get an accurate enough GPS lock. Please use the Rate page in the app to rate your GPS accuracy - I get then get your rating plus the device model you used.
The legality of the app, and the likelihood of being sued if there is an accident. I do have an in-app disclaimer that the user needs to accept before using the app.
iOS version coming soon, and I know the UI still needs lots of work.
