Hoping someone could explain or help me out a bit. I have AT&T HTC One X Plus and I was researching unlocking, rooting and installing JB OS w/ sense 5. I was able to successfully unlock and root the device, also installed TWRP for flashing. I originally was looking at installing Android revolution but can't seem to figure out which to install, etc. Then it seemed to me that you could not install Android Revolution on ATT version of htc one x plus so I looked into Cynogen mod 10 and it looks like that would work but flashing the zips seem to fail. If someone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Thanks for the help!

Anyone have any luck rooting this yet? I just got one today, my first Android phone, and really hate being locked down to only market apps. Hoping that rooting it will allow me to work around that.
Yep. theres an HTC aria thread with instructions on rooting it, installing a custom recovery and installing ROMs.

Sorry double post
Hey guys i need a little bit of help. Im trying to root my HTC one from Verizon but cant seem to find where and how to do it. I have searched thru Google, YouTube, multiple android forums but they all seem to come to a dead end because of the bootloader. Im not new to android and rooting but i have been away for a couple of years. I have been on an iphone. i had a droid x, and Razr and i rooted both and had custom roms installed so i think i can still do it if possible. Anyways can someone give me a link to the latest method and some easy to follow directions of how to do it if possible. Sorry if this has been covered before and thanks in advance.
i have the tagged and branded verizon version cuz i had no choice but did someone ever extract the htc one unlocked rom so i can flash it and get the htc one m8 rom experience without the bad Verizon experience? i looked through the roms a little bit and asked google but couldnt find anything that seemed to be just a straight pull from the original m8

Look again. I don't know if you mean a ROM like the Google Play edition, or the M8 with all the HTC stuff, but minus the Verizon bloat. Either way, there are several of the latter, and one (at least) of the former).

Hello,
I am currently Have a HTC one s S4.
I am hoping to update my phone and I had a few questions
Can I flash the HTC One play edition to my phone?
OR
Is it possible to install a Vanilla Android on my device?
I don't mind losing stock apps and such.
Also don't mind that HTC One only has 2 of 3 HTC One S buttons.
Would be advantage if possible - OTA updates
If any of these are possible I would much appreciate a guide or 2.
Extra Info: I have already rooted my phone.
If you want info about flashing a rom to the One M8 I suggest asking in the correct section.
No, you will need a ROM developed for or ported for the One S. There are several in the development forum.
Straight to the point. I have an HTC One M8 (Verizon) and it currently is running Android 6.0 with sense 7.0 / S-On / NON ROOTED
I wish to get rid of ALL Verizon Bloatware and stupid apps that come installed with it. And install the android marshmallow ROM that would come stock on a NON BRANDED M8
Could somebody please reply with a STEP BY STEP easy to follow set of instructions on what I need to do to achieve this.
like using Sunshine to get s-off and rooted. And links to an Official ROM and all that stuff.
And a question. . . . .Will my NON-VERIZON SIM still work after such a procedure? and will mobile data work (without configuring the GSM settings, which I had to do when I first got it)?
I am in New Zealand if that affects anything.
If somebody is willing to help me out I will be most thankful
LOL they're gonna just tell you to search and do some reading since everything you need is already on here.
