Hello fonetalker101,
I'm not a pro in these things and my device isn't the Tipo, but the Xperia E. I have a friend who owns a Tipo, and he got a problem similar to this one, so I'm trying to help you out
Allright, first of all, I think a SIN error means that Flashtool cannot flash the System files, which are the most important thing in a stock ftf(after the Kernel!), but please correct me if I'm wrong!
You have a couple of options you can try:
1. See this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001567 and scroll all the way down to the end of the first post, it says: What to do if you get sin header verification error? That is exactly what you're facing! Follow the instructions.
2. Find a relock-bootloader file for the tipo and flash it with Flashtool( if you can't find anything, or if you don't know what the heck I'm talking about, just ask me for it, and I will try to help you!) If it works try to flash the stock .ftf again. If that doesn't help try to update your system with Sony Update Service, google it, you can find it on the official Sony website!)
3. Repair with Sony PC Companion 2.1 and flash the .ftf file again!
But I think that option 1 will work for you, because I faced the same problem when I had my friends Tipo to root it.
P.S. Use Google! When I searched for: sony tipo st21i ftf, my second result was the link in step 1... But nevermind, I'm happy to help people, so don't bother

Download sony update service(Google it) and update your phone, this will surely work. Hope I helped u

You could try using Sony PC Comapnion, it takes a bit long but for me, it fixed my tipo 3 times :good:

Just use UnlockRoot app in Windows... it's free (although with some terms that you must install a babylon IE bar), and just one click and the process is pretty straight forward and doesn't take too much time...

IF the flashing process was completed successfully (no errors) then it shoudnt be a problem.
For further assistance i will need to know if you can or cannot get into fastboot mode (blue LED) or flash mode (green LED).If you can then to recover you can use the flashtool (here).Just download the stock .ftf file and flash to stock ROM.
Hope this helps..:good:

[Solved] Hard bricked my Xperia J...

Hello everyone,
Yesterday I've tried to update my Xperia J to the new Jelly Bean firmware, but before that, I've done a full wipe and format system and cache through CWM. After that, I reboot my phone and it never goes after the Sony logo. I've tried to repair it with PC Companion, SUS and Flashtool, but everytime it starts to flash new Rom, the green led goes off and nothing is done.
Is there any solution for this, or should I go to the store and pray that it isn't to expensive to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
Anyone have a suggestion?
Re: [Help] Hard bricked my Xperia J...
Its not hard bricked. Its really normal for green light to go off while flashing ftf.Just wait for the flashtool to complete preparing files and then connect your phone in flash mode(green led) after the prompt appears. It will instantly start the flashing process (and yes, the green led goes off as soon as flashing starts so dont worry).
You may also experience a strange problem where the flashtool gets stuck at 0 percent. You can fix that by trying some older version of flashtool.
Good luck

Thanks a lot for your help, I'm really getting stucked at 0 percent at Flashtool. I canĀ“t even repair it with PC Companion, that's why I was afraid that is was an hard brick. I'm going to try with an older version of Flashtool as you've said.
Thanks again.
EDIT: I've tried with an older version of Flashtool and still no luck, always getting stucked at 0 percent. I read somewhere that my problem must be that my phone at this moment don't have any operating system and that probably I couldn't fix it at home. Is this true or is there something more I can do?
Re: [Help] Hard bricked my Xperia J...
Well i used to get this problem with my flashtool.Installing an older version did the trick for me.You can try flashing from some other system

Unloked bootloader????

Re: [Help] Hard bricked my Xperia J...
If you got unlocked bootloader then you can fastboot flash fxp kernel followed by the rom itself. This will atleast make your device functional again.
Sent from my Xperia Tipo using Tapatalk 2
Unfortunately my bootloader is locked.
I will try again, but this time on my computer here at work.
EDIT: Still no luck in another computer. I guess I will need to go to Vodafone Store at the end of the day and see what they can do with my phone.
Good news!!
I've installed PC Companion here on my work computer and it repaired my phone. Probably there's some kind of problem with my computer at home. I'm already flashing Jelly Bean normally with flashtool.
Thanks a lot for your help balboarocky.
Use Flashtool for this

[Q] Sony Tipo Dual not able to install stock rom

Dear members, I have a sony tipo dual. I tried to install cm10 on it, and was successful but later when i inserted the sim i came to know that CM10 doesn't support tipo dual.
Now my problem:
1. I tried to use PC Companion and go back to original Firmware but it says "Phone has modified software. It cannot be updated."
2. I tried to flash it with a Central Europe stock, but everytime i do that it throws an error and stops.
3. I am not able to copy the Gimlo firmware on the phone. Whenever i try to copy it says "Cannot copy item. The device disconnected or stopped working."
4. I tried using fastboot and install the .sin files but I was able to install only the kernel.sin. While installing the system.sin i gave an error of Too large file.
I have attached the flashtool's log
30/015/2013 19:15:04 - INFO - Unable to read from phone after having opened it.
=============================================================at this point my phone restarts
30/015/2013 19:15:04 - INFO - trying to continue anyway
Now i just want to restore this phone to its original software. The biggest mistake i did was not to keep a backup when i installed CM10.
Please help me...
Perhaps Sony Update Service. So flashing a stock kernel doesn't work? Have you unticked TA/no final verification?
Sometimes this works! Try that first and otherwise Sony Update Service.
Success, and good luck!
Sent by magic!
Hi,
I have already tried using the Update service, but i get the same error "Modified Software".
Also the most irritating things is that I am not able to copy anything on the phone when I connecct it to my pc.
I tried disabling the TA/ Final verification, but this is not helping either.
Guys plz help.... the phone restarts during the flashboot process..
Edit:
I was trying to edit the build.prop file.. If this works can I use Sony Update service to reinstall the original software?
Can anyone please share the original build.prop file for tipo dual. I dont have the original one and my current build.prop file shows the device as ST21i (Sony Tipo) whereas it should be ST21i2 (Sony Tipo Dual).
Expecting your help...

Download Sony PC Companion .
Connect your phone in firmware flashing mode.
it will automatically install the required drivers.
And make sure to put the firmware ftf file into the folder named 'firmwares' of flashtool.
Please press the thanks button on the bottom right corner of this post if I helped you.

Don't worry, Your phone is not hard bricked. As you mentioned that on starting , phone is vibrating that means there are chances to recover your phone.
1.First go through this guide :Using Flashtool
2.Download your current stock firmware . Visit this: Miro all official firmwares
3.Install proper drivers as mentioned in the above 1.flashtool guide.
4.Flash the firmware for your phone , according to the above 1. Flastool guide.
5.Wait untill flashing completes. start your device when you are told to do so.
