Hello everyone,
Yesterday I've tried to update my Xperia J to the new Jelly Bean firmware, but before that, I've done a full wipe and format system and cache through CWM. After that, I reboot my phone and it never goes after the Sony logo. I've tried to repair it with PC Companion, SUS and Flashtool, but everytime it starts to flash new Rom, the green led goes off and nothing is done.
Is there any solution for this, or should I go to the store and pray that it isn't to expensive to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
Anyone have a suggestion?
Re: [Help] Hard bricked my Xperia J...
Its not hard bricked. Its really normal for green light to go off while flashing ftf.Just wait for the flashtool to complete preparing files and then connect your phone in flash mode(green led) after the prompt appears. It will instantly start the flashing process (and yes, the green led goes off as soon as flashing starts so dont worry).
You may also experience a strange problem where the flashtool gets stuck at 0 percent. You can fix that by trying some older version of flashtool.
Good luck

Thanks a lot for your help, I'm really getting stucked at 0 percent at Flashtool. I canĀ“t even repair it with PC Companion, that's why I was afraid that is was an hard brick. I'm going to try with an older version of Flashtool as you've said.
Thanks again.
EDIT: I've tried with an older version of Flashtool and still no luck, always getting stucked at 0 percent. I read somewhere that my problem must be that my phone at this moment don't have any operating system and that probably I couldn't fix it at home. Is this true or is there something more I can do?
Re: [Help] Hard bricked my Xperia J...
Well i used to get this problem with my flashtool.Installing an older version did the trick for me.You can try flashing from some other system

Re: [Help] Hard bricked my Xperia J...
If you got unlocked bootloader then you can fastboot flash fxp kernel followed by the rom itself. This will atleast make your device functional again.

Unfortunately my bootloader is locked.
I will try again, but this time on my computer here at work.
EDIT: Still no luck in another computer. I guess I will need to go to Vodafone Store at the end of the day and see what they can do with my phone.
Good news!!
I've installed PC Companion here on my work computer and it repaired my phone. Probably there's some kind of problem with my computer at home. I'm already flashing Jelly Bean normally with flashtool.
Thanks a lot for your help balboarocky.
Use Flashtool for this

Guys , I was on Jelly Sandwich with sirikay's kernel. I had some speed problems with wifi. So I thought of flashing stock ICS Rom ST18i_4.1.B.0.587_Kernel.ftf using uniflash.exe and did it. After flashing it didnt restart. So I clicked the power button to restart manually but just got a vibration sound and nothing else .. just the blank screen. So I searched for stuff about unbricking my device since I thought it's bricked. I downloaded this package "FlashTool_0.2.9.1_FOTAUnbrick.exe" and started flashing the firmwares. So I held down my volumedown button and connected it to the usb port. It says error and that I have to select usb debugging mode and connect again but I can't even start my mobile.
Plz help .. Thanks in Advance
Try using flash tool!
and flash stock ftf through that.....

Hi
I confirm, just had the same problem while updating a custom ROM.
Get the Stock ftf file for your phone/model then use Flashtool to flash it.
Search the forum for the proper links there are likely to be all there somewhere
Hopefully, your phone will be back to life on a stock version.
And yes, if you want to re-install a custom ROM you need to re-do all the process: root, (optional) unlock Bootloader etc.
Good luck.
PS: I saw a thread saying to use the SEUS to restore the phone to stock. Worth a try but for me it didn't work since SEUS was telling my phone already had the latest version. Fix hard bricked ray

Try flashing the stock rom, it worked for me!!!!!!
the same thing hapenned to me too
Okay so I seem to have soft bricked my Xperia J too
Only this time I can't seem to get into Flash mode or Recovery mode!
Holding/Pressing Vol+ doesn't bring up the blue LED and the phone doesn't vibrate at all.
Likewise for Vol+. Nothing happens and the phone remains stuck on the Sony boot logo.
Any idea what I could do? (USB isn't recognised on PC either so I can't connect that way.)
Edit: Okay scratch that, randomly button mashing Volume DOWN seemed to work for me. Only took about 50 or so reboots
Sony`s PC Companion can repair Boot Up problems after CWM install faild
Just watch this video on youtube and follow exactly the description on your PC Companion. Just search for this video on youtube "How to fix a (soft) bricked Sony Xperia Play( any Xperia )EASY METHOD, when stuck on the Sony logo"
Wanted to post the Link but it`s not allowed before posted at last ten contributions - sorry for that (XDA rules!)
This will fix all Xperia Models - it works so easy and pretty fast (about 20 minutes) and after that you have a phone just like brand new from the dealer with the latest software rolled out for your device in your country - sweet
Pls help me S1 fastboot prblm

Hello!
Last night I flashed Xperia L C2105 with stock rom which I found here.
Flasing finished without any error but when I try to turn the phone on it only giving me one short vibrate and black screen... after 3sec I can press and hold power button again and again short vibrate and black screen... No SONY logo... no Xperia logo.
When I connect phone to charger red LED is blinking, I tried different battery but result was the same.
I can still connect to device in flash mode and fastboot mode... via FlashTool.
Any help will be appropriated.

Yes... I tried that.
It looks like it was my fault... I flashed .ftf while battery level was under 10%
Phone is bricked and I lost interest in fixing this phone.
Thanks for your time to replay to my post
If your phone is connecting in flashmode, so what about flashing stock rom ftf via Flashtool ? Something like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2338074 or this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2356876 ? Have you tried it ?

Hi guys recently my Xperia z3 updated to 5. 1. 1 lollipop and rebooted it said install applications for firmware then stopped at like 87/144 and eventually the battery drained out and the phone won't charge at all sent it to Sony and they said they can't fix it any one has any idea how I can do it my self
Appreciate any help possible fixing this phone paid alot of money and I'm disappointed Sony won't fix it
Try if you can get it into flashmode.
Hold the vol down and connect it to your PC while holding it.
It should start into flash mode (blue LED if I remember correctly) and in the PC's device manager a new device should pop up.
If it works you can easily reflash a official ftf with Flash Tool.

i tried that but it doesn't work it gives me an error when i connect the phone
and my bootloader is still locked
Can u still access the recovery?
I'm assuming yes then why don't you try a custom ROM.
Just search the XDA Forum. Your ll get official ROM as well.
perss volume up and power for a while
It will shut down your phone
Then, dont connect your phone to pc
use xperia companion and choose repair
Finally press volume down and connect to pc
I tried that and it didn't work but i fixed it
i can't access recovery or use xperia companion because it gives an error but i fixed it by downloading an ftf and flashing it with flashtool i then updated my phone to marshmallow with xperia companion, but thank you for replying
