ATT ICS Rom For TWRP - General Questions and Answers

I've been trying to find an ics radio for my ATT-based Galaxy Note SGH-I717. I've downloaded Padawan's rom for JB & installed it via TWRP, but I need to revert to an ATT ics modem so I can unlock my phone.
I have the the ATT stock radios bin files that's posted on XDA's site, but don't know what folder I should copy the bin files to in my phone. I have the zip file saved in my /sdcard folder. When I try to install, I keep getting "Error flashing ' /sdcard/Att_Radio_Files.zip' error.
I have had no problems flashing other zip files from the /sdcard folder in the past.
Are there any instructions to install these files?:fingers-crossed:

[Q] Need help restoring ROM manager backup

Ok so I decided that I wanted to see what all the Froyo fuss was about, so I started getting my phone ready following instructions on the site. I own a Samsung i-9000m (in canada from bell - actually sasktel but we get phones from bell). anyways, I figured i'd do a rom manager backup. I did one, had some trouble with my phone and now I need to do a restore. Reading on the web they all point to an update.zip file. All I have is the following on my internal SD
ClockworkMod\2010-11-24-14.32.54\ and the following files in that folder:
cache.img
datadata.img
system.img
data.img
nandroid.md5
I tried restoring from rom manager but it doesn't find any files, I've booted into recovery but doesn't recognize the img files......any help would be amazing. Am I missing a step, google is no help
loooks like i needed the recovery update.zip file i'm assuming.....for some reason I didn't have it in the clockworkmod folder....

[Q] **How to flash zip file in recovery**

Hi All, I am new to this forum and android world. I have a samsung galaxy wifi 5 android device running froyo 2.2.2. This is basically equivlent to IPod Touch (I guess). I am trying to make this device detect ad-hoc wireless connection so that i can connect this with my windows mobile phone. After some research I found that wpa_supplicant file needs to be modified. I have already found the patched and complied zip file here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754961. I just need to know how do I flash this file in recovery. So far I have rooted my device, and installed ROM manager. Alos do I need any flash cards? Your help would be much appriciated. Thanks
Same boat here. Google hasn't seemed to help either.
How do you "flash" a zip file in Recovery?
Thanks
First you need ClockWorkMod and know how that phone's version works. Move the zip file that has the new ROM onto your sd card. Boot into ClockWorkMod. Then choose the zip file with ClockWorkMod.
yes google is your friends
but first insall recovery and after use it, choose the downloaded zip file and update your phone with it...

AT&T Files Using TWRP

I downloaded AT&T Radio codes from a link that was given on XDA. I tried to install the file using TWRP but it failed to flash. I can't find the website anymore.
I copied the winzip file to the external sd card on my Galaxy Note SGH-I717, then tried flashing the file with TWRP. As I stated earlier, the flash failed. Usually I can flash, or install roms very easily with this software.
There is a mdm.bin file and a amss.bin file. Should I try installing the mdm.bin file? There were no instructions for flashing/installing these files. Also, the files were meant for Odin. Should that make a difference?

Which is the 5.0.1 img file?

Note: OTA updates don't work on my Nexus 5 due to TWRP blocking them. Now my phone doesn't recognize the OTA update anymore (When my phone went to install the OTA updated and rebooted, it rebooted into TWRP instead and completely ignores the updates existence since then). To fix this I plan to simply push the factory img of 5.0.1 to my device directly. I downloaded the factory .img from Google's website .
However instead of a .img file i'm used to, I got a .tgz. I extracted that and got a .tar and then extracted that to finally get my folder with the .img files. However now I'm not sure which one to push to my device. There is a img file called "radio-hammerhead-m8974a-2.0.50.2.22.img" but judging by the file size, I don't think that's the correct one (only 45MB). There is a .zip file called "image-hammerhead-lrx22c.zip" but this contains multiple .img files, the largest one called "system.img". I'm guessing this is the correct one to push to my device via adb since it's about 1GB in size?
I suspect pushing the entire .zip file to my phone and flashing that would be bad as it looks like it'll overwrite TWRP?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here's a lot of useful information about OTA's Check it out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/info-nexus-5-ota-help-desk-t2523217
You'll need boot and system at least,
If you plan on keeping twrp and root, you may as well just flash one of the flashable zips already available in the development forum
Actually you should have a radio and bootloader img file. First one is - as the name says - the latest radio software (which is needed for GPS, WiFi, cellular network and so on). Second one is the latest bootloader. I'd update them both.
From the zip archive you should only flash certain imgs - if you flash all your data will be wiped (factory reset). What img files does the zip contain?
Why are you pushing them to your phone? You need to flash with fastboot from your computer. There is not just one img file for the update, there are several for different partitions on the phone. Have a look through some of the guides in the general section. Also, flashing one of the stock flashable zips would be much faster, but why not learn a little as you update.
Vomer has a thread of flashable 5.0 and 5.0.1 stock Google ROMs. Don't worry about factory images because you will lose everything once you flash these and it's a much bigger pain imo to back everything including internal on your phone up.

Click to collapse
Not necessarily true.
You can flash bootloader, radio, and system without losing anything. You'll just have to reroot afterward.
