[Q] Stock ROM vs Custom Rom on Miro - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Hi everyone!.. i had been browsing around 2 weeks ago on this page reading this and that one, i had learnt so much, thanks to all of you for sharing...
so the question is, i have a xperia miro and i would like to use a custom rom but i'm not sure how stable can be... i don't want unlock my bootloader for later ask how to block it again..
i had use some based stock roms and for me is the same, sometimes worth than stock one, nothing to highlight... so it's a good idea unlock my bootloader and install a cyanogenmod based rom?
thanks for reading and sorry for my english and my bad capitalization... greetings

about unlocking bootloader, now theres a tool available here called "Backup TA"..you can backup with it and then safely unlock without losing warranty.
and then you may try the cm based roms and see if you like them or not.

[Q] Xperia Ray-Flashing kernal

Hi friends,
I am pretty new to this forum and before a couple of days i did a research regarding Flashing Kernals and Roms(Dont knw whether my concepts regarding that is right or wrong) and currently i have installed Cyanogen 9.1 for my device. Now let me ask a couple of questions i have for you guys.
1.Will I be able to update my phone and bring back to old ICS firmware via SUS once i brick my phone(I have already unlocked the bootloader via fastboot method)?
2.Evrytime when i flash the Rom(say CM9) i used to flash kernal(boot.img) for the respective rom.Is this necessary all the time?
Will i able to flash a GB rom on ICS kernal(I am afraid to give it a test)?
3.Regarding CM9.1 which i have installed ryt now,I am satisfied with the performance, but i want a stable ROM wud make me happy with a better battery life unlike CM9.1.So could you pls suggest me a GB/ICS ROM which wud have a stable performance with descent battery life.
4.After using GB for a long time,i was very much addicted with the Phone pad kinda keyboard, but when ICS came into picture everything vanished,Smartkeyboard Pro is no gud,Touchpal is conjusted,i want the exact GB keyboard in ICS.Any ideas?!!

[Q] Need advice wheter to flash custom rom or still on stock?

Dear user,
I would like to see your advice whether should I flash a cutom rom like NOS_v2.0.0_X920E or to still run stock?
My device is HTC X920e with unlocked bootloader, S-ON rooted and TWRP installed.
Are there any advantages to go for custom rom? I know i'm running and there are some chines app installed even we delete it removed it using other advance apk or ultimate backup.etc, but after restart the phone, thos will be auto installed which is very annoying.
But maybe you can help bring some more reasons why we should still on stock or custom one.
Thank in advance and feel that in HTC butterfly's forum seem silent and not more developers like to pay much here.
Fell very lonely here
Edited: decided to flash right a way. running custom rom now...
phone's really not that famous to devs out there. so far I've used the NOS ROM and nothing else. not much to choose from, that is. but the ROM's running great for a daily driver.

new to idol 3 quick question

Hi guys looking at getting the idol 3 5.5 just a couple of questions
Can someone tell me what the different model numbers are as far as I know there are 4 different variants of the idol 3
Also I'm looking to keep to a stock rom based rom which one is best to use or should I just root and stick to the stock rom anyways as all I really want to do is remove system apps I don't use and install viper4android lol
Thanks
Hello,
The problem is with the 5 models (6045I,6045Y,6045O,6045K,6045B they are 99% same, i think the diference is in kernel/radio/dual sim).
so there are lot of custom roms, but the problem is, that they are only builds by fans and not really a developers (except "Unjustified Dev" which is the only one real developer here so far). so they just build the rom and cannot do much about the problems. This ends in many builds (CM, PAC, LEWA... ) all are CM based builds, there are also a lot of kernels,. the problem is nobody really knows what are the diference.
For someone is kernel " x" working for someone not etc.
So thats the reason i am on stock.
I managed to find, that TCL i806 is alcatel idol3 (TCL is the owner company of Alcatel). So i get the stock firmware for i806 and made some mods. Its probably the nearest to stock firmware. The only problem is, that it includes kernel, thats 100% working with 6045Y. You can try to boot it on your own device, but for suer to flash (not boot) TWRP recovery, make full backup and also download the other kernels, so you can swap them in TWRP.
If all things go well we should have android Marshmallow start rolling out in june.

thanks for the reply well ive ordered it and its coming tomorrow its the 6045Y version so am i right in saying i should be able to just install your rom no problem and i dont need to install the different kernel
also what kernel are you using as ill properly use the same one lol
sorry one last question do i unlock my bootloader as well before root ect
thanks again for your help
6045Y is same model as mine. So unlock bootloader and then flash TWRP recovery, make backup, flash my rom. I allready included overclocked ARDE team kernel. If you have some problems (freezes, reboots) then probably your SoC isnt capable of holding the OC, then just launch the kernel adiutor and lower the frquencies.

does xposed work ok on the idol 3 and if so what version do we flash
again thanks for your help carnt wait till tomorrow now
i dont use xposed, but should work without problems (have tried months ago). and also download mobile uphrade q v. 5.0.6 (its also on my google drive). its the alcatel app to get you to stock if something goes wrong. Also in my unlock bootloader thread is a bat file which makes all partition backup of your phone.

Bootloader Unlock Not Allowed, any way to install a different rom that bypasses this?

Hello guys, is there any way to install a more recent version than android 4.4 without having bootloader unlock allowed? I really want to play Pokemon Go and sadly it doesn't work on stock rom and my bootloader unlock is not allowed...
I'm really really noob at this, never changed a rom on any device before, so some pointers would be really appreciated! Such as how to install and which roms might work!
Thank you!

Unfortunately not, you cannot do anything to get a custom Rom, sorry mate
Sent from my taoshan using XDA Labs
Why do you think you need a custom rom? The pokemon hardware requirements are specifying only Android jelly bean, which is available on the Xperia L as stock rom...

If it says that you bootloader can't be unlocked in the secret menu..it can't be. Sorry, lad.
