Bootloader Unlock Not Allowed, any way to install a different rom that bypasses this? - Sony Xperia L

Hello guys, is there any way to install a more recent version than android 4.4 without having bootloader unlock allowed? I really want to play Pokemon Go and sadly it doesn't work on stock rom and my bootloader unlock is not allowed...
I'm really really noob at this, never changed a rom on any device before, so some pointers would be really appreciated! Such as how to install and which roms might work!
Thank you!

Unfortunately not, you cannot do anything to get a custom Rom, sorry mate

Why do you think you need a custom rom? The pokemon hardware requirements are specifying only Android jelly bean, which is available on the Xperia L as stock rom...

[Q] Stock ROM vs Custom Rom on Miro

Hi everyone!.. i had been browsing around 2 weeks ago on this page reading this and that one, i had learnt so much, thanks to all of you for sharing...
so the question is, i have a xperia miro and i would like to use a custom rom but i'm not sure how stable can be... i don't want unlock my bootloader for later ask how to block it again..
i had use some based stock roms and for me is the same, sometimes worth than stock one, nothing to highlight... so it's a good idea unlock my bootloader and install a cyanogenmod based rom?
thanks for reading and sorry for my english and my bad capitalization... greetings
about unlocking bootloader, now theres a tool available here called "Backup TA"..you can backup with it and then safely unlock without losing warranty.
and then you may try the cm based roms and see if you like them or not.

Custom ROM, Official JB ROM is not released for 2011 Xperia phones. Moreover, ICS is damn too slow and hence wanted to try out Super Jelly Bean. Don't know what should be the exact sequence of events.
Appreciate any help!
No ROMs I could update

And if you all believe I did not search the forum, I downloaded almost 5-6 custom ROMs, kernels and flashed them but the phone doesn't just boot up.
ICS 4.0.4 did not allow for rooting hence went for 4.0.3 and rooted. Since, last 2 days, I flashed my ray more than 10 time with no success.
No Jelly Bean ROM I could find which would make it workable. Hence, settling for 4.0.3
Thanks.

Hello. How come you didn't get an answer yet? To flash any custom rom all you have to do is to unlock bootloader. Just google the phase "Unlocking the boot loader" and the first link will lead you to the official website with all the instructions (I can't post links since I'm new here). The only problem is that your warranty will be void (if it is a problem). Some roms can be flashed without unlocking, but Super Jelly Bean is not one of them (as far as I know).

Actually before I used SJB 7 for my ROM on my Ray.. I used ICS 4.0.4 Stock ROM from SONY, but ICS stock ROM too laggy.. So I decide to change to custom ROM and I use SJB with fusion kernel 5.4 and it works fine... ICS 4.0.4 can root.. just follow instruction on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2135918

Hi, maybe am late or maybe not, anyway
I recommend using test point method to unlock your bootloader so you don't lose your DRM data. Proceed with caution do not attempt this if you don't know what you are doing,** I take NO responsibility if something happen to your phone, you are doing this at your own risk.**
here is the links: www[DOT]androidflip[DOT]com/unlock-xperia-phones-bootloader-without-losing-drm-data-track-id-working/
sorry am a new user i can't post links replace [DOT] by .
And also i recommend using Super Jelly Bean 8.0 as its a great ROM very smooth and with nearly no issue.
hit thanks button if this help.

Thanks everyone. With so many help options provided by you fellas, I could flash custom roms. After trying virtually everything, I've settled with SJB 8.
Thanks,
Jitendra
Tried various ROMs and I must say this forum is very helpful.
Not sure how do I close the thread, incase there is any need for it.

[Q] Just answer me....

I need to find a ROM for xperia j.. is any good and stable ROM for xperia J? not 4.1.2.. i would be fine if it was 4.2 or 4.3.. (but without bugs).. also, i have 11.2.A.0.31... And i was thinking of getting the CWM 10.. i saw a video on youtube that i must downgrade to ICS.. is it true?
and last question.. do i have to downgrade to ICS in order to install any other ROM?
CM10 for Xperia J is also 4.1.2. You need to downgrade to ICS to install CM-based (non-stock) ROMs. Can't comment on CM10's stability as I don't have an Xperia J, though.
if in one thread, the developer doesn't say anything about downgrading to ICS, it means that i can istall this ROM with .31 i have?

If the developer says it is stock based, yes, you probably can.
Which ROM are you talking about?
i wanted to install CWM 10.. but as it seems i need to downgrade to ICS (something idk how to do)...
i also would like to know if i can install this one " Fljótur Blue Beam" ROM with .31.. is it possible?

Okay, see, it's saying that it's baked on the latest CM10. This means it's CM10-based, and yes, you have to downgrade to ICS to flash it.

[Q] Locked Boot Loader, Can I Still Install ROMs?

So I had to downgrade from 5.0.2 in order to install KK+Root+SU But is it possible to install ROMs if the boot loader is locked? God, this sounds like a very silly question. If anybody could shed some light on my lack of knowledge I'd be very grateful.

With a locked boot you cannot install anything that relies on a custom kernel. So no CM, AOSP, BP, DU AOKP etc....
Basically, you can only install stock (i.e sony xperia stock) based ROMs

With LockedBootloader you cant change kernel atm... So you must stay on android 4.2.2 ... No chance to update to 5.0 atm ...
There are 3 ways for you:
1. install a 4.2.2 LockedBootloader rom (like stryder rom)
2. unlock your bootloader and get a android 5+ rom for taoshan (xperia L codename)
3. program kexec to work so you can bypass bootloader ( ok that option is only viable for good devs)
