Anybody any suggestion to fix this ? Because I'm out of ideas

1. Try changing SIM slots
2. Under Settings->More...->Mobile Networks, try changing the various options
3. Install MobileUncle Tools and run it. Go to Engineer Mode and try the various options

Hello,
Just had such a kind of problem with my HY5001 (on my Sony Xperia X10i or Samsung Galaxy ACE it did work fine).
Attention, I'm not on Base but on Mobistar.
I was effectively worrying that there was a problem with this "chinese" device as I could only surf via WiFi.
I was already thinking about bying a new device, but... never give up: after having experimented in the Settings->More...->Mobile Networks --> Access Point Names it's finally by dropping the Proxy and Port fields that the connection did work !
Hopes this will also work for you :fingers-crossed:

I have noticed that there is various problems on network signals. I found some baseband that works some how in my lenovo s820.
All moust all mtk6589 devises uses the same modem.img and they can be mixed. but there is still some devises that wont work well whit the mtk6589 modem.img
Thread explains something abaut the same problem

Cannot locate 3G network - Q9H Updated with AT&T WM 6.1

Hi all,
I am new to this forum... I hope I can get some help from all the experts here.
I have recently downloaded and flashed my Motorola Q9H with AT&T's WM 6.1 update. No problems were faced while installing it.
I used the RSD Lite version 3.7 and this SHIP_NORMAN_AP_U_01.09.28R_NOLOCK_MODEM4_U_40.11.40R_04_USNORMANATT02NAR2W611A005-ATT_1719931436.sbf
After installing and tweaking the locked settings of the Internet Settings, network band selection and Messaging using PHM Registry Editor.
However, after doing all that.. I cannot get connected to any 3G network in my country (Malaysia) and I cannot use the MMS function.
Can somebody assist me in either directing me to the original ROM copy of the WM 6 for Q9H or how to establish that network connection (I think AT&T may be using a different range band for GSM or UMTS)?
Even with the network band selection, only 2G networks can be discovered.
Really appreciate the help..
Phone information (after the update) :
Carrier : AT&T
AP : 01.09.28R
APFlex : NANORMANATTCORE00040

q9h
the moto Q9h has two versions, the AT&T version, also called Q9h global, and the Q9h.
The AT&T version HSDPA runs @ 850 / 1900 mhz, while the other version runs @ 2100 mhz.
according with the info I got in gsmworld, malaysia's providers are runing their 3G services using 2100 mhz; thus if you got an AT&T version, it won't work in your country.
If you recently upgrade your rom with win 6.1 you might need to unlock the pre-loaded gprs settings.
go to the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A 38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA} select the pre-load setting and go to values, keys, and change the "read only" from 1 to 0.
Find the proxy that Cingular uses.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{EF097F4 C-DC4B-4c98-8FF6-AEF805DC0E8E}\Cingular WAP, same here change the values for "read only" from 1 to 0.
hope this helps.

[Q] Cannot Connect to 3g with the Correct APN settings?

Hi All,
A few weeks ago I bought the Euro Xoom 3g and of course try to use the internet.
Problem in short:
The Vodafone Sim i use does not work with 3g on the Xoom. It borrowed the sim from my HTC Legend ( on which 3g works perfectly ).
More info:
APN settings i used are:
- Same on Legend (with CW7)
- Original Xoom (NL Vodafone)
- The settings received from Vodafone themselves.
Same symptoms in Rooted and unrooted Xoom
Model MZ601 Build:H.6.1-38-1
GSM network is functional ( even get text messages about missed calls )
Attached is a logcat from the radio while the xoom tries to connect, with a few things i noticed ( but do not really understand ) mentioned below:
GPRS CSS not supported / UMTS CSS not supported
[0388]< REQUEST_GET_NEIGHBORING_CELL_IDS error: com.android.internal.telephony.CommandException: REQUEST_NOT_SUPPORTED
Things i read from other forums ( like tweakers.net ) are:
Update 12jun, other provider sim i lent (kpn) worked like a charm.
- Users with other providers (KPN/T-Mobile) do not get such issues.
- Some users (and i ) call/visit Vodafone but only get the "Is the APN set up correctly" without any luck reconfiguring.
- The neighbouring cell message could relate to incorrect programming ( read in custom rom forum topics )
Can any help help me to analyze what is going wrong, if this is something fixable in the software or anything else?
Thanks in advance and for reading upto this part of the message.
Help!

Was this ever fixed? I've got a Motorola Xoom (picked it up on clearance for cheap!) and I live in Australia. Optus, Crazy Johns, Boost, Vodafone etc ALL work fine with the correct APNs and do at least detect the network, whereas Virgin (the sim I'm using) does not.
I know the sim works, as I've tried it in other devices (android AND iOS) with the same APN settings, and I know the device works (on other networks) so it's not locked...
I'm at my wits end here!

That looks like a solution... I'll try that if the Motorola guys haven't heard of the issue before and don't have a solution (I've got a couple of reps looking into it, should know by tomorrow)
Cheers!

[Q] TF101G only connects to Edge connections (2G) even though 3G is available

I have a non-rooted Asus Transformer TF101G the 3G variant with Android 3.2.1 installed on it
I am trying to get HSPA to work on my tablet but it only connects to 2G network with slow Edge speeds.
I copied the APN settings for my provider from their web page
http://mtnlmumbai.in/index.php/3g-settings (used the same as Samsung Tab)
1) I tried the setting on my HTC Wildfire A3333 running Android 2.2.1 and at first it connected to the Edge network, then under settings I changed the Network Mode from "GSM Only" to "GSM/WCDMA auto" and it connected just fine to the HSDPA network. I confirmed with a speedtest.net high internet speed
2) I used the exact same settings on the ASUS TF101G and it connects to only Edge everytime, I understand on Android 3.2.1 on the Asus Tablet there is no option to select "GSM/ WCDMA auto" it should be doing this automatically?
Any help would be appreciated, I tried looking for solutions online but there is limited info on the TF101G
As far as I understand the TF101G is quad band so that should not be the issue in not selecting the WCDMA network
Is there a App or way to manually change the setting to WCDMA only or WCDMA/ GSM Auto on the TF101G without rooting it?
Same problem here. I found how to force 3G ony but ALSO sendind a dial code with the phone application ... that is not enabled in the Transformer.
I searched Google, and XDA, for hours but found nothing. Is it really possible that no one has solved this problem?
TF101G 3G Only Fix
I found a solution..
Download a free app called PHONE INFO
Open the app and proceed to tablet information. From there you can now toggle your preferred network.. in my case i selected WCDMA only..
hope that helps..

[Q] Nexus S is not getting Mobile network(GSM) signal

Hi All,
I got a Nexus S (I9020T) from US. I am trying to use it in India with a GSM carrier - BSNL ( gsm 900Mhz).
Problem :
When ever I am inserting GSM Sim, it catches the signal (both gsm + data) but after 3-5 minutes only gsm signal is lost. I cannot make or receive calls, it says emergency call only.
I tried to make call, it says "no mobile network available". Where as i could surf the net with 3g data plan.
what I did :
1) I tried to reboot the phone. Still no signal.
2) I tried to remove battery and sim , and put it back and switch on. Still no signal.
3) I tried to dial *#*#4636#*#* . Enter into phone information-->Select preferred network type to - WCDMA preferred, GSM only (all GSM options tried)
and reboot the phone. Still no help.
Please help me. I am completely frustrated.
Regards,
Rajesh
Contact your provider , they might be blocking your device for some reason ...
Have you added the new APN?
(I'm assuming you're on 4.0)
Settings --> More... --> Mobile networks --> Access Point Names --> Press menu button and select "New APN"
Google the APN settings for your provider and input them. Make sure you remember to press menu and SAVE APN when your finished.

Yes, I added APN..(it automatically appeared) and also I am able to surf the net due to 3G data plan, but strangely i am not able to make any calls nor receive any calls, it says no mobile network available
What is the version of your baseband? You can check it in Settings/About or in Fastboot/Bootloader mode.
What is the model written beneath your battery on the sticker?

Hi, baseband version - I9020XXKI1
Kernel Version - 3.0.8-g6656123
model -I9020T
The baseband is OK. It supports 900 MHz operation. You should contact your operator regarding this issue, it can happen they use special/non-standard GSM solutions (frequency sets, etc.) which is not supported by this phone.
You can try switching to 2G mode only (you can find this in Settings/Mobile networks).
You should check in this mode the signal in Settings/About/Status (in dBm).
If it's below -100 dBm then signal coverage is poor or unsupported frequencies are used by your operator or your HW radio chip is corrupted.
To rule out the last possibility, you should check your signal and dBm value with a SIM card from another operator.
UMTS functionality is handled by a separate chip (not by GSM radio), so it can happen 3G is OK but GSM (2G) not.

Thanks for reply..n helping me out.
I believe my carrier BSNL uses standard GSM frequencies..samsung note, galaxy series pretty much work with it.
I tried switching to 2G mode, same problem.
I checked signal strength : it varies from -91dBm to -93dBm.
I inserted other GSM carrier SIM , same problem - no signal.
This Nexus S mobile was working fine with T-mobile when I was in USA.
It seems some Hardware radio incompatibility or something else..God Knows!!

One thing i noted, it identifies the carrier correctly in Settings-->About-->Status-->Network
IMEI(*#06#) shows different from the IMEI written under battery.
Are you using Custom Rom?
Why IMEI difference between device screen and behind battery ? something wrong is here ...

Your /efs is corrupted and some carriers block generic IMEIs, that's where your issue lies
Sent from my ice cream powered Nexus S
Wrong IMEI
Yes my /efs is corrupted. My IMEI shows 004999010640000.
I came to know it happened due to flashing custom ROMs ( Ohh god why did i flash custom ROM) .
I used CWM. This didn't back up my /efs folder and hence the problem.
Its my bad luck, even i did not read any suggestion to back up /efs folder in any guide for flashing custom ROM.
Its really waste of time and effort on my part to go for Android. So much complexity for just a cellphone.
I would better go for iPhone. (Thank God , no custom IOS).
RIP - my Nexus S.
Thanks everybody for helping me and answering me.
The IMEI can be restored, so your Nexus S can be made registered on your operator's network. Instructions to do so can be found, but it can be illegal in your country. Modifying an IMEI is generally is, but if it's done for restoring purposes, then it might not fall in the same category.

The problem with your statement is, that these are not just cellphones, much more minicomputers (with GSM radio and UMTS modem).

Android is far better customizable and not proprietary software as iOS. Apple can keep its price unrealistically high. They cost far much than their real value. So they are bought not because their usefulness, rather to show other people that one can afford it.

US XT1034 after network unlock only connecting on EDGE in Europe

Hello,
I got Motorola MOTO G X1034 (on the battery when connected to PC it says X1032) form the USA - here is the offer: http://www.sears.com/consumer-cellu...martphone-black/p-00333272000P?adCell=REC_1_0
It was locked to Consumer Cellular - an AT&T company and I was able to unlock it with unlock code.
But when I try to use it in my country Bulgaria with my carrier Mtel the mobile Internet is only connected on EDGE and not on 3G or UMTS.
Anyone knows why is this happening and how to fix it. Can I flash some European radio or something ?
P.S. So far a was able to unlock bootloader - flash custom recovery and root the phone.
so nobody knows anything about this ?!?!?!
ok another question - I saw that there is a secret menu (*#*#4636#*#*) that allows you to change default network from 2G to 3G and vice versa, but in my phone this menu is missing (disabled from the provider I guess).
So my question is if I flash some other ROM will the menu appear ?
thanks
Which bands does your carrier use?
My guess is your carrier uses different bands then the phone has, or all that exists is a 2G band in your area which you would want to check with your carrier.
yes I think this is the problem my carrier uses 2100 mhz for UMTS but the phone is not supporting it - is there a way to flash new radio or to enable this frequency ?
