I had another go at this app and have to say it's the best art app I've tried
The first time I tried it the UI was way too confusing but it's been redone and it gives you the ability to create your own UI to suite your needs
You can configure the s pen button, the volume buttons and seen a youtube video where you can even use swipes on the screen (not sure how to do this yet)
I have the s pen button for colour picking while hovering and up and down volume for undo and re do plus if you have a keyboard you can use the keys for shortcuts
You can create your own clovers (shortcuts) for colours, navigation, tools which can be edited to your hearts content
You have options to create your own brushes, you can configure your s pen and everything is editable from creating your own colour palettes to your own textures and you can use your finger to smudge or blur
You can paint using watercolours, pencil, marker, airbrush, g pen, oil and sand (for textures) and even create your own by editing.
You can calibrate your s pen and pen pointer if you feel it's a little off set, everything can be edited until you feel comfortable.
The brushes are pressure sensitive and you can also use palm rejection (stylus options)
The canvas is is as big as you want it with no lag or slowdown and you can also import large images and export images into psd
I'm so glad that I gave this another try as it has everything I want from an art app and is worth every penny, you can have a go at the free version of clover memo to see how it all works which is basically the same minus some options and layers

There's also a pdf file you can download for a very good guide on how to use it found at google play store clover paint app
Tip for using the button on s pen to take colour samples go to gallery, key configuration, eye dropper (colour sample) then press add and hover with the s pen and click the button
Same for other configurations

Sounds promising, I give it a try. Currently I am using Layerpaint, Infinite Painter, ans PS Touch, but find that each one is lacking some function that the other has. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah same here, I've tried every art app there is and every one seemed flawed or had something missing, there was no perfect art app that had it all and it seemed like the ipad has some great art apps and android gets left behind but this makes up for it.
It's not perfect but close enough, read the reviews on google play

Out of interest. What free apps are you comparing this to? I have many drawing apps on my tablet and this is hands down the most feature rich. There are still a few things it is missing that would really make it stand out from the crowd but saying that it is still the leader on Android in my opinion.
For those interested. The feature i'd really love is the color layer function from photoshop. I like to sketch and shade in black and white and then add colour to it after. This option isnt avaiable, so I have to colour first and then use dodge and burn to add depth to my images. Its not nearly as efficient or effective
I currently sketch in LayerPaint. The best app for simple sketches in my opinion.
I then import the PSD and various layers in to CloverPaint for further work.
I started to do a comparison chart of the various apps but soon realised that I didnt have the time to complete it and do it justice

You can add a copy layer then add colour to that and do things like fill layer with colour, there are loads of options for layers.
There aren't any good free art apps from what I saw, well apart from ps touch but it has a lot missing features like palm rejection and a range of different brushes.
Been using clover paint a lot now and learned how to customise brushes and so many other things by investigating the settings

I agree that there arent any good free art apps, I was just suprised when someone made it sound like an app as feature rich as CloverPaint should be available for free.
I agree there are lots of options for layers but not what i consider the best option. which is colour layer. I wish to have a black and white shaded image and then add colour to it while keeping the lower layer's shading and highlights

The developer is adding loads more stuff to it, also asked if he could make it so you can edit the names of the colours instead of just pallette 1, 2, 3 and so on.Really need this option for people like me who are colour blind and can sample colours from a chart and name them ourselves

To be honest I don't use gesture control, I just use the menu for putting tasks to buttons like using my s pen button for when I want to take colour samples. I just hover the pen over and click the button.

In short you assign an action (making new layer for example) to a button in Clover Paint, then use GMD to map a gesture to this button.
I do not understand
You can write step by step guide please

It's can't be done I think.
Is there a way to apply a colour layer (blend mode) as one would do in photoshop with this app? This only effects the hue and saturation and keeps the under lying luminosity. I like to paint in grey scale and then add colour as my final step. If this was possible id have no need for any other app and could do all my drawing in android only

As much as I love XDA, I find it difficult to keep track of all the various art threads across all the various device forums. As such I decided to start my own Forum specifically for artists who use their Android tablet for drawing and painting.
Its still early days and work in progress, but please come and join me at http://androidartists.boards.net/
I look forward to your contributions, advice and input and will be looking for a few people to keep it ticking over.
Thanks,
Ben
No good free apps ? I'm pretty okay with that before I discovered this-> raviolipaint 2. But its not the subject. Indeed, cloverpaint is a strong art app ,fully customizable but im not happy with pressure sensivity for now. I ll try some customizations

Well, Sunday afternoon, wife and kids away so I went on with some icons in the sony erirsson font. When you rooted your phone and use this font as your default it looks great on your phone...nevertheless worth sharing. Here some screens in use:
Here are the white PNG icons in Sony Font containing the following:
Applications: GPS, Music, Pictures, Tools, Video, Weather
Homescreen: Dial, SMS, Mail, Shop, Twitter, Web
Games: Action, Arcade, Cards, Puzzle, Race, Sport
Using Smart Shortcuts you can use these icons as your folder icon and make shortcuts on your screens, when you tap them a folder opens with the chosen applications you chose making the folder in Smart Shortcuts.
If you are using Desktop Visualizer these icons are 100x100 png, they are a bit smaller in words of course as I went of the edge a bit.
They look a bit blurry on the screenshots, but that's because I cropped the screenshot png which already is a small file ofcourse. On your telephone it looks sharp as a razorblade ;-)
EDIT: The best thing is of course when your wallpaper is not scrollable (setting in ADW). For that I made 9 wallpapers which looks good with those icons. 3 like in the screenshot and another 6. Also added as attechment. They are 490x854 photo's pasted in a 960x854 background. Just swipe them to maximum and there you go Watch out, there are 2 nsfw pictures in it as well. Herewith an overview of all wallpapers, obviously as i explained you won't see the white parts, it is necessary to get a perfect single wallpaper (unscrollable) for all your screens. For the first two when you want to add the text icons exactly in the squares, make sure you have selected in adw settings, 5 coulomns and 6 rows, than it will fit when using smart shortcuts, this app is free from the market.
Cheers,
Arnold
added 9 single screen wallpapers for non scrollable use. That way you can make different pages using those icons.
Thanks for sharing and putting time to make these.
Although i am totally noob & didn't get it how to do all that (due to my poor english), but really awesome effort from your side Great & Thank You very much ^^
Excellent, and many thanks for this. I don't, however, know how does one change the icons for the apps, what's the app/technique to do that?

Just download the program 'Desktop Visualiser' it is not available in the market for the X10, but you can find the .APK on this site. That program is very simple to use, no explaination needed.
Also, extremely nice backgrounds, I already have extremely similar icons (Tallmin: http://www.droid-den.com/android-guides/android-tallmin-icon-set), so most likely won't be using them, but almost certainatly will make use of the backgrounds!
Your wallpaper collection gave me a boner!!

On a completely unrelated note, my X10i gave me the 'charging bug' for the very first time just now
Damn!
Thank you, nice to hear people like them. Spent 4 hours on it to find wall papers which will fit the icons as a glove. Personally I use them with SMART SHORTCUTS, as desktop visualizer and my phone are not friends, so smart shortcuts folders....that is what you see in the screens.
It is very easy to install. Read the first post and it will work. If you have questions or need help, just post a reply and people will help you...that is the great thing from this community.
Shukla, you are crazy haha

PollPixx, as always great work follow many of your threads
I've sorta been using your icons (sorta because i like images ) and trying a new dual screen type approach with sophisticated sleek words and minimal view on one home screen with the big colourful images on another home screen. Havent gotten it to look 100% yet as its very hard to get it all to fit nicely with a wallpaper, but when I do i'll post on the desktop thread!
p.s. awesome walls wish i could keep one in particular as my wally but the girlfriend will castrate me

Well, as I am also a photographer and have my studio by the house my wife is used to some girls nudity, actually she is more than once my model, artistic naked photos are great,
I dont like the pornographic pictures, but artistic naked like the third screenshot, which happens to be set as my default screen, is really something I like....
I also can't understand why people are having problems by such an innocent picture like the black/white behind picture I posted above, the great thing by these pictures is that you are not seeing anything pornographic at all...
I have had several discussions already about this subject, I always say, if you like it, use it, if you dont like it grab another background...
So, convince your girl you are just an art lover....

Second: just 2 questions
1- how can you select different wallpapers in ADW? I can`t find that option;
2 - How did you disable the botton center icon from ADW?
Thks
EDIT: By the way: I´ve made some icons based on these with droid text.

Thx!
1. You can't....i made different screen shots to show the difference.
2. Just long tap and swipe it upwards, worked for me.
Of course, post them.

Good job on this.

I may try this later on and put my comments on this but I am sure I will love this.
The very good design, is very attractive, thanks your share ~~
I make a lot of presentation and most of my thinking is also very visual but I am certainly no artist. In the original video with the note 10.1 they had this really cool feature with smart shapes.
Obviously snote it's no sheet near as capable but I wanted to find something close to it on the market place. The diagramming apps I found are all feature based not stylus.
Anything worthwhile any one knows about? I don't need visio like functionality just simple way to represent workflows.
Thanks

There's a paid app that looks promising but is more expensive and does not have a trial version :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.com.diagrams.pro
There is also another paid app with a limited trial version:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alarex.droiddia
Have not tried the above but they may be suitable for your needs.
If you don´t need complex charts, Droddia free can help. It´s limite at 40 objects.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alarex.droiddia&feature=search_result
I'm using mindjet (mind mapping diagrams)
s-note does have the smart shapes - just have to press and hold the productivity icon to select shapes (I'm not that clued up on them yet - can't figure how to make constrained shaped yet - eg circles not ovals, squares, not rectangles)
To ensure you always have the latest version, download 4A Home from Google Play. However I will continue posting new versions here as well.
* Launch apps with gestures
* Grid-free flexible home screen layout
* Appwidget chooser optimized for large collections
* Appwidget visual effects - colorize, outline, remove background, etc.
* Appwidgets can act as containers for shortcuts (if supported by the widget) - dock and folder widgets included
* Swipe down to expand the status bar or up to show the app drawer.

any screenshots?
Had a quick play and is pretty basic at the moment. But a very promising start. Screenshots not really necessary as all it adds to your screen are four squares in the 4 corners of your screen which can be assigned gestures of your choice. I tried it on Xenon rom and it worked great. Looking forward to it developing further. @dev might be worth putting up a short video showing of is main features.

I like the name, it's unique. I actually think it would be pretty stupid to complain about the name.
Anywho, gave it a try and like it so far. Only thing I would love to see is maybe give the option to make the gesture squares transparent. Other than that, awesome lightweight launcher. Love the whole no grid arrangement. Some wallpapers/widget combos just don't look right with having to stick to the grid.
Looking nice, would really help for a short intro at first start up very innovative and very unique nicely done, also another note would be to add a app drawer we can access via gesture so we don't have to assign every app to a gesture. Thank you for sharing and for your time in creating this great job so far, will keep my eye on this one for further development

You can put shortcuts on your homescreen, but they're not separate items; they have to be stored inside a Container widget. The launcher comes with one such widget ("Shortcut Dock") so you have one available. Once you put a Shortcut Dock on your home screen, you can swipe up to view the app tray, then long press an app icon and "Add to home screen".
I have been busy working on new & improved features for the launcher. Obviously one of the things I need to do is have an inital setup that automatically adds a Shortcut Dock and some default shortcut icons.
Waiting for more updates. Good job for now

All widgets can be resized in edit mode using the standard two-finger pinching gesture.
No, the current version does not have a Folder widget. A Folder widget will probably be bundled in the version after next. I don't know whether anyone who has replied to this thread is a developer, but you can also develop your own container widgets.
Cool thanks for the resize of the container widgets ...
Another thing if we could get transparence in drawer ...
Hey mate, I really like the launcher. I tend to go for a very minimalist look and this could work well for that.
My only suggestion ATM is to use a different color picker.

Free Skinnable Calculator!
Calculator is an application which must be in all devices, because no one knows when and where you need to calculate something. This calculator is very easy to use, it does not have any scary and complicated functions, only those that are in the usual everyday pocket calculator. In addition, you can always change the color of this calculator, if you're tired of everyday gray colors... You can for example choose the pink
The main advantages of this calculator is:
- Simplicity and ease of use.
- Stylish design.
- Ability to change skins (colors), you just need to click the menu and go to the settings.
Hope to receive feedback
Yea...
It's not very pretty. And also you market it as stylish, while it's filled with ads? ...Really?
There are enough calculators as it is, and almost all of them are prettier and more functional.
Sorry :c

Stylish with ads.. why not? if you use it offline, it will be without ads ..
And about almost of them are prettier, i don't think so..
I don't really like it.
The idea itself is nice but badly implemented. The themes are anything but stylish, the color combinations are not the best. The font you're using is ugly for a calculator.
I respect the will to monetize an app, but there are some free calculators that don't display ads. Even worst, there are nicer free calculators that don't display ads.
When I read stylish calculator I think about Holo Calc (free, no ads, clear or dark holo themes) or Calcbot (shame there is not an Android version)

Hey Nightwolf, don't worry about the criticism. Its everywhere and it happens. I can say that the app works well and does what it needs to.
But as the guy stated that there is already many calculators out there. Many with great styles, and if I have to be honest (don't get upset) the interface of yours isn't as great. The ads should be removed as well.
The app itself is fine, just re-think the layout and buttons. Match it with the current state of android layouts. So its more consistent and not just random.
Here's some tips -
Re-think the layout.
Now create the new layout replacing all the old buttons and stuff. If you need help with the designs, private message me.
Make your calculator unique.
I hope to see you around here with more apps to come. Good work and good luck!
I'll reserve my Thanks for now and wait till a better version is out.

Thanks for your feedback..
And i'm not fully understand your point about layouts Is something wrong with it? Or you mean only placement of buttons?
Use flat elements(buttons, windows. And the ui) and icons. Avoid using things with gradients. They just look bad.

I think it's a matter of taste
Hi everyone, this is my first "hello world" app on the play store. I know there is another app similar to this, but I just wanted to learn how to code so here it is .
XDA Portal is an extremely light-weight, unofficial app designed to let you quickly glance over the first new articles featured on the XDA portal.
Features:
Extremely light-weight and fast
Elegant cards ui
light on memory
Application is still in beta, so there may be occasional bugs. Again, this is unofficial.

v2: Ability to open page in browser so you can access all the links!
What do you all think?
Looks good. Force closed after it finished loading on first try, then worked good. Needs a tablet layout, though

No. It forced close before showing any content, when it was still showing the "Loading goodies" message. If I have it again, I'm going to send feedback through the Android feedback thingy.
If you want anyone to test the Tablet layout, let me know (Tablet Z, 10.1 inch, 1920x1200 here)

Just downloaded it and works great for me on my SGS3 with no force closes.
One little thing regarding the visual look of the UI though. The contrast between the background and the cards should be increased slightly because it's difficult to tell where one card ends & the next one begins.
Other than that, looks great & works great! Nice job!

Works great on a N5. One tip though...make the font size for the title and the body have more of a difference. The title and body fonts aren't really easily distinguishable. Another tip would be to make the background a light gray instead of pure white so the cards don't blend in as much. (Or just use holo dark as the theme).
First of all, great.
Second: Please parse the content for links. The portal is all about linking to other content.
Keep up the good work.
Subscribed, I tend to browse the portal allot. This may just be my app for that, instead of opening tapatalk, then browsing through the list of forums, then loading, then sliding out and selecting portal and then waiting.
Super light weight, and simple. Love the UI its clean and neat, haven't experienced any problems what so ever on my Nexus 5, really good creation for you first app!
Keep the updates and new features coming.

using a samsung S3, works great, fast, stable and sharp, now there are lot of things you can implement in the visual area, like choosing three different fonts, sizes.
In some cases, once you open an article, you can see there´s more space between the image and the main title in some articles, that´s all for now.
Keep up with this fine work !!! :good:
good work,keep it up!!!!!
Can you add Android 2.3 support? Seems interesting. :good:
nothing when settings tab is pressed!!!
minimal & fast... keep it up!
Hope You will add a switcher, in Settings, between dark and light (i use trds roms), and the a ability to load also older stories, or a cut-off number selection to choose how many entries one wanna load
@sunstreak
good job, thanks :good:
first thing I've noticed that settings on menu doesn't do anything, if you didn't added it eclipse automatically add menu item called "settings" so I suggest to remove it.
another little problem maybe cuz of the small screen is that there's a large empty space like this image:
Amazingly smooth man, i'm keeping it.
Thanks for all the feedback! V1.1 should be up soon with ability to open link in the browser and removed settings button.
this is good stuff man downloading as we speak
Working nice on G2(d802)
