I guess that must be me then. Lol.
Downloading now will post my finding soon.

any screenshots?

Had a quick play and is pretty basic at the moment. But a very promising start. Screenshots not really necessary as all it adds to your screen are four squares in the 4 corners of your screen which can be assigned gestures of your choice. I tried it on Xenon rom and it worked great. Looking forward to it developing further. @dev might be worth putting up a short video showing of is main features.
Good work. Keep it up.

Did you try configuring any widgets?
1. Long press
2. "Edit mode"
3. "+"
Also, with one or more "Shortcut Dock" widgets placed on the home screen, you can long press an app from the app tray and "Add to Home Screen".

tested....it has good potential/chance to become very good launcher if you keep up updating and adding features.
just one small advice; change its name; 4A....this is really stupid name that makes no sense (maybe it makes to you, but I am positive many will complain about the name)...

I like the name, it's unique. I actually think it would be pretty stupid to complain about the name.
Anywho, gave it a try and like it so far. Only thing I would love to see is maybe give the option to make the gesture squares transparent. Other than that, awesome lightweight launcher. Love the whole no grid arrangement. Some wallpapers/widget combos just don't look right with having to stick to the grid.

Looking nice, would really help for a short intro at first start up very innovative and very unique nicely done, also another note would be to add a app drawer we can access via gesture so we don't have to assign every app to a gesture. Thank you for sharing and for your time in creating this great job so far, will keep my eye on this one for further development

Good!

Very interesting launcher and a little different and light but by me I can't add app on desk... i can only add widget
The concept of gestures is also cool even its not so new but in light launcher its a plus...
Hope there will be a new version soon
Thanks

You can put shortcuts on your homescreen, but they're not separate items; they have to be stored inside a Container widget. The launcher comes with one such widget ("Shortcut Dock") so you have one available. Once you put a Shortcut Dock on your home screen, you can swipe up to view the app tray, then long press an app icon and "Add to home screen".
I have been busy working on new & improved features for the launcher. Obviously one of the things I need to do is have an inital setup that automatically adds a Shortcut Dock and some default shortcut icons.

Waiting for more updates. Good job for now

No way to add folder on desktop for the moment i didn't find could you confirm that
Is there also a way to resize a container widget ?
Thanks

All widgets can be resized in edit mode using the standard two-finger pinching gesture.
No, the current version does not have a Folder widget. A Folder widget will probably be bundled in the version after next. I don't know whether anyone who has replied to this thread is a developer, but you can also develop your own container widgets.

Cool thanks for the resize of the container widgets ...
Another thing if we could get transparence in drawer ...

Hey mate, I really like the launcher. I tend to go for a very minimalist look and this could work well for that.
My only suggestion ATM is to use a different color picker.

Great, great feedback. Thank you!
Some of these are already on our plate - working on getting dock customization in ASAP - but those that aren't are going straight from your keyboard to the developer's ears. Thanks, again!
My phone's being repaired right now, so I can't try this. Are scrolling widgets supported?
Awesome work !! Really a good launcher. Makes my iFriends go green
Will post any features needed/ bugs
willing to try this and have great faith in the project. I love seeing a launcher with a difference and will download in the morning to my vibrant running cyanogen mod. finally if you are in need of a beta tester please let me know and I will do anything to help.
I like it.
Down points-
Slow to scroll from screen to screen
Confused on how to resize widgets.
I didn't see how to change what screen goes in what order. Example-I could never get my homescreen to be the middle screen instead of the 1st screen.
I think I'd like a swipe up gesture that allows quick screens glance rather than the middle dock button being the quick screen glance.
I give you props on this. It's turning out nicely and will continue to do so!

I'd like to say yes, but unfortunately they're not in this latest release. That said, let me see what I can do to sneak them into an upcoming build.
Hope your phone comes back better than ever.

Gotcha.
In terms of the widget resizing, if you long hold on a widget and tap 'Resize' you'll notice the bounding box + arrows pop up. From there, you should be able to resize by tapping and dragging on the arrows to get the dimensions needed (if you're not seeing the arrows or that functionality's not working, definitely let me know).
Re: setting the order of screens - we don't have that included now, but it's already in the works for a release in the very short-term.
Lastly, hadn't considered the upward swipe gesture idea. Let me stew on it for a bit and see if there's something we can do there.
Thanks for taking the time to drop the feedback - love it!
I am trying the Launcher (although I prefer plain vanilla LauncherPro). It's tricky trying to get use to using this. I am so use to using an almost empty, plain desktop.
I wanted to try this because of the news feeds as it seems easier than opening the browser and going to the news sites.
really good, but on my sensation (960x540 px resolution) the themes doesnt resize properly, there are blurry icons and backgrounds. only the widgets are looking ok. i hope youll make it compatible with qHD (960x540) resolution.
glad to see that you are working on the screen order feature
a setting to change the transition effect and a running apps panel (task manager) would be very nice!
i dont like the photos panel, i cant scroll through the photos when i select one from the list, i must first go in fullscreen mode... it should be more like gallery 3D ^^

Totally understand - it's a bit of a departure from layouts featured in ADW, LauncherPro, etc.
In fact, one area in which we need to improve in is explaining the basics of Claystone. Once you play around with it it starts to come together, but we've got to do a better job in bridging that gap.
Thankfully, I've got a Word doc in front of me ready to be dumped into an HTML layout with the aim of having that ready within the week!

Of those, I can tell you that a 'Running Tasks' panel is ridiculously close to being included (as in: we've had it in there, but haven't quite finalized it yet in deference to other features).
In terms of qHD compatibility and revised photo functionality, I can't promise that they'll be featured in the next build or two, but can say I'll bring them to the team and see where we can slide them in on a priority scale amidst other feature development.
Really appreciate you helping out - thanks!

[APP][2.2+] Smart Taskabr 2 - most convenient one hand optimized quick access launche

[Smart Taskbar V2]
Smart Taskbar is designed to make you use your phone one handed easily. All new V2 is even more one hand optimized. Launch any application instantly without leaving your current window. Swipe your finger or click the trigger icon anytime in any App to bring up Smart Taskbar panel for super fast app launching also works as app organizer, folder organizer, multi tasker, task killer, and shortcut manager. The App is carefully designed and implemented to make sure you can comfortable do most things with just one hand. If you are one hand operation freak and is always looking for something to use your phone easier with one hand, then Smart Taskbar 2 is the right thing for you. Although it is capable, but I still don't suggest you use my App in driving. :silly:
How is everyone saying about V1:
Showcased in XDA front page in 2010
Showcased in addictivetips front page in 2010
Showcased in howtogeek in 2011
Reviewed by lifehacker in 2012
[Some Background]
About three years ago, I introduced an app called Smart Taskbar which used a never been used technique called system overlay window to demonstrate the potential benefit of using top level window in Android Apps to create something that is always on top and always available first time. So thats why you see many many devs that use similar technique to make their Apps such as swipe pad, swapps, sidebar...etc. Many of you may not know its me who brought you the first app in this class in Android Market by the time because app Smart Taskbar V1 is not as famous as other similar apps. Probably due to lack of details or it is simply too engineering style.
During my development of V1 in 2010, I asked many friends around me to see how's their reaction with an always available, always displayed, tiny trigger button design thats is displayed all the time on screen to access a small launcher style window when pressed. All of them told me its obstructive and bad of user experience. 3 years has passed. Even Apple adopt the idea in their iOS5 called accessitive touch. I don't know did Apple engineers know about my App. But I am quite happy that my concept is accepted by Apple.
If you are interested to know more about my V1, you can refer to this XDA thread for more details:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/smart-taskbar-launch-any-app-in-2-steps/
So I decided to create a V2 to improve problems that I have in V1. I started the requirement and feature development as early as the beginning of 2012 and started real coding job in Jun 2012. Finally after about 6 months of hard coding, I released my first beta on PlayStore in March, 2013. After two more months of beta and debugging, I think its ready to announce the App to everyone on XDA today.
[Features]
☆One click in any window to access Smart Taskbar main panel without leaving your current window
☆10 speedy quick launch spots for 1 click App/Custom action launching
☆Organize Apps/Actions in groups
☆Organize Apps/Actions in folder
☆Task Switcher
☆Add unlimited number of widget to use (No more desktop space limit)
☆Gesture driven
☆Build custom action (aka shortcut) to do more
☆Do basic App management such as force stop or uninstall directly on screen
☆Sortable App list by filter of frequency, alpha numerical, or installation time
[New In V2]
☆Brand new one hand friendly design
☆All graphics now in HD quality
☆Runs different UI on Pad and Phone
☆Gesture driven
☆New folder design for you to create multi dimensional gropus
☆5 more quick launch spots

And is possible to insert in the bar the typical button of a browser? (back, forward, favourite, setting, etc...).
Thank you!

I don't quite get you because isn't Chrome non full screen app?
For button control, it would require root for key simulation and I don't want to make ST to be a root App. So I'd suggest you try my key simulation App, Button Savior.

I need it becouse I have a Meizu MX2, tha has a own smartbar. But for many reason I had to use a customized rom that hide this smartbar, so I have chrome fullscreen without a bar (other browser has it, for example firefox, opera or safari in ios).
So, I tried you button savior, but is have to two problem for me, maybe you can help me to resolve:
1) I'd like it start when I open chrome and close when I close it. Maybe is possible to do this with tasker, is right?
2) When button savior start, I'd like to have it maximized (like a normal bar) I don't want to click on the arrow to make it apper.
Is possible to do all this?

I bought V2 as soon as I saw it -- been a happy user of V1 since early on.
One thing I've noticed -- alphabetical sorting of the apps doesn't actually seem to show them alphabetically for me. I can't figure out what order they're displayed in ... perhaps the name of the APK as opposed to the app name?
Also, as some have posted in the Play Store comments, the circular Quick Launch spots look nice but they're a little small on my HTC One and don't show the app very clearly.
Saw this yesterday and installed it. Bought it today. Incredible app. Samsung should give this a good look. Absolutely the best organizational app I have used.

You press and hold on it for about 0.5S. Then you should be able to move it. For clean up all quick spots, there is no such function yet, I will try to add it later.

Wheel Launcher allows you to add any shortcut that is provided by your apps, like direct dial any of your contacts or settings shortcut, like battery, sound, Wi-Fi and so on.
Wheel Launcher is in early stages of it's development, so if you have anything to ask, suggest or if you found a bug - do not hesitate to drop me an email.
Features
• Fancy circle design
• Basic shortcuts to some common apps - dial, gallery, email, messaging, camera, drawer
• Support for any app on your device
• Support for any shortcut on your device

Ok since you mentioned 17 MB I gave it another try. And yes without any theme on it's 16/17 MB on xhdpi. Last night I used it with the black theme on so it spiked to 30 MB.
And I already have a Sidebar which takes around 15MB and it serves me well.. So don't get me wrong your app is beautiful and very cool, but I hate the memory constrains I have to deal with
But I'm glad I helped you fix a bug with the log.
Hope people love your app like I did. Regards
It's not crashing on 4.4.2 for me. Great job!
Made some bug fixes and new theme available:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fossor.wheellauncher.androidwhitetheme
Full version with folder support and unlimited number of items is available
Two major updates
1. Added a new white theme.
2. You can now change the position of an item on the main wheel and inside folders
Suggestions
First, just wanted to say that I really like the look of this. Running this on AICP 4.4.2 on a HTC One. Couple of quick suggestions/questions: First, is there a way to turn this on/off and/or a setting to enable on boot? Is there a way to change the position/size of the trigger area?
On a side note, I've used an app called circle launcher (pretty much since it was first released) as a widget on my homescreen to launch my most used apps (about 15 or so). I've really like this because with the launcher icon being transparent, it provides an easy way to launch apps without messing with my layout (no matter what layout i'm using). Have you considered creating this as a widget and/or being able to launch this as a short cut? I could see maybe using this as a custom nav bar button or something similar.

Hi there, thanx and I glad you like it. You can hide the icon by dragging it off screen or by pressing "hide" button on the notification (the app will return when you unlock the device or press "show"). Currently there is no autostart after boot, but it is on the to do list. There is no size changes on the trigger area, but you can change the position by dragging it up or down (it is always floating) and/or by changing side (left or right)
As for a fully transparent trigger area - I saw a lot of feedback (on other similar apps) when users wanted to have a visual representation of this area, so I made it with a flag icon. If there will be more requests to make trigger area fully transparent, perhaps i will add this option too.
And here is some video:
youtube.com/watch?v=uIWDlf1Dai8
New update on both versions:
You can now change icons on a main wheel. Supports most of the icon packs.
Another update:
Trigger now can be set as a rectangular shape in addition to the icon. It can be of any size, color and opacity, up to fully transparent.

[App][4.0+]XDA Portal

Hi everyone, this is my first "hello world" app on the play store. I know there is another app similar to this, but I just wanted to learn how to code so here it is .
XDA Portal is an extremely light-weight, unofficial app designed to let you quickly glance over the first new articles featured on the XDA portal.
Features:
Extremely light-weight and fast
Elegant cards ui
light on memory
Application is still in beta, so there may be occasional bugs. Again, this is unofficial.
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.sunstreak.xda
v2: Ability to open page in browser so you can access all the links!
What do you all think?
Looks good. Force closed after it finished loading on first try, then worked good. Needs a tablet layout, though

No. It forced close before showing any content, when it was still showing the "Loading goodies" message. If I have it again, I'm going to send feedback through the Android feedback thingy.
If you want anyone to test the Tablet layout, let me know (Tablet Z, 10.1 inch, 1920x1200 here)

Just downloaded it and works great for me on my SGS3 with no force closes.
One little thing regarding the visual look of the UI though. The contrast between the background and the cards should be increased slightly because it's difficult to tell where one card ends & the next one begins.
Other than that, looks great & works great! Nice job!
Sent from my Xposed CM11 SGS3 on Virgin Mobile
Works great on a N5. One tip though...make the font size for the title and the body have more of a difference. The title and body fonts aren't really easily distinguishable. Another tip would be to make the background a light gray instead of pure white so the cards don't blend in as much. (Or just use holo dark as the theme).
First of all, great.
Second: Please parse the content for links. The portal is all about linking to other content.
Keep up the good work.
Subscribed, I tend to browse the portal allot. This may just be my app for that, instead of opening tapatalk, then browsing through the list of forums, then loading, then sliding out and selecting portal and then waiting.
Super light weight, and simple. Love the UI its clean and neat, haven't experienced any problems what so ever on my Nexus 5, really good creation for you first app!
Keep the updates and new features coming.

using a samsung S3, works great, fast, stable and sharp, now there are lot of things you can implement in the visual area, like choosing three different fonts, sizes.
In some cases, once you open an article, you can see there´s more space between the image and the main title in some articles, that´s all for now.
Keep up with this fine work !!! :good:
good work,keep it up!!!!!
Can you add Android 2.3 support? Seems interesting. :good:
nothing when settings tab is pressed!!!
minimal & fast... keep it up!
Hope You will add a switcher, in Settings, between dark and light (i use trds roms), and the a ability to load also older stories, or a cut-off number selection to choose how many entries one wanna load
@sunstreak
good job, thanks :good:
first thing I've noticed that settings on menu doesn't do anything, if you didn't added it eclipse automatically add menu item called "settings" so I suggest to remove it.
another little problem maybe cuz of the small screen is that there's a large empty space like this image:
Amazingly smooth man, i'm keeping it.
Thanks for all the feedback! V1.1 should be up soon with ability to open link in the browser and removed settings button.
this is good stuff man downloading as we speak
Working nice on G2(d802)

[App][Widget][4.1+] LaunchBoard: best app drawer replacement

LaunchBoard for android is your perfect app drawer replacement. Launching apps has never been this easy.
Play store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appthrob.android.launchboard
What do app drawers do? Show you all the apps all at once, how dumb?
Meet LaunchBoard, and say goodbye to searching through long list of apps & cluttered folders
Let's admit it: 90% of the time, you exactly know the name of the app that you want to launch. With LaunchBoard, you use this knowledge to avoid seeing unnecessary apps in the process of launching apps
It's all in the first letter of the app. To open 'w'hatsapp, you quickly press 'w' & you're presented with just the apps that start with 'w'
Long press apps and mark them as favorites to make accessing those apps even easier.
There are 2 ways to use LaunchBoard:
Launcher icon
Homescreen widget
Pin the Launcher icon to the bottom tray of your homescreen. Clicking on it will open Favorites by default. So, if you have marked all your frequent apps as Favorites, they are just a click away. If the app you want is not in your Favorites list, click on the 1st letter of the app in the keyboard to quickly get to the app
Adding the LaunchBoard Widget to your home screen is the best thing you can do to launch apps. YOU CAN THEN GET TO ANY APP WITH JUST A SINGLE TOUCH. Try it, you'll fall in love with it.
Use the Theme Engine (Settings -> Appearance -> Theme Engine) to tweak the look & feel of the app. Using Custom themes, you can create & apply any number of themes. Intermediate and advanced level of theming allows you to tweak the colors of every aspect of the app.
Hope you enjoy this app. Have suggestions? Let us know in the comments

How LaunchBoard is better?

Thanks for providing me a chance to explain how LaunchBoard can be better than the other alternatives, I'll try my best
To launch apps using search bar in other launchers, you would need to:
- click the search bar or swipe down
- Type in letters until the app you want shows up
- In most of the cases, the results will be shown on top of the screen (as in Google Now launcher). So you have to stretch your fingers to get to the app
LaunchBoard on the other hand was built to get work done with as less clicks as possible (perfectly suits those who like to type a lot less)
If you want to open 'Whatsapp', you just press 'w' and it's readily available to you for launching.
Here's the most important part:
To tap the fullest potential of LaunchBoard, you need to do 2 things:
1. Add the LaunchBoard widget to your homescreen, so that any app is then JUST ONE CLICK AWAY
2. From LaunchBoard, long press on the apps that you frequently use, and select 'Add to favorites'. e.g. If you add 'Whatsapp' to your favorites list, it will be shown on top whenever you press 'w'. This way, you don't even have to skim through the list of apps to open your favorites.
Of course, Z Launcher provides a creative cum innovative way to reach apps by drawing letters on the screen. But it's just more fancy than practical. You would feel great for the first few days, but later on, swaying your hands to draw letters would begin to feel taxing when the craze dissolves.
Try the LaunchBoard homescreen widget to launch apps for 2 days and you're sure to get addicted to it a lot, as it's simple, and just that.
The best part is that you're not locked down to a specific launcher(as in the case of Z launcher). You can add the LaunchBoard widget and icon to any launcher.
Just choose a launcher that you like the most, or keep switching between different launchers when bored, but add LaunchBoard to every one of them and have a consistent Launching experience
Thank you!
Actually a good idea! There are launcher which do this but adding a widget on my homescreen is actually IMHO preferable.
There are two things which could be better: The icons for the favorites are to large and waste unnecessary space. Maybe you can make them scalable.
And second support for icon packs would be great. When use my launcher with a super duper icon pack and then look at the ugly system default icons in your widget...
Thank you

It gives immense pleasure that you liked the app.
We'll move your feature requests to high priority ones on the pipeline
Thank you.
Battery friendly
The best thing that I like about this app, apart from being able to launch apps quickly is that, it is extremely battery friendly. No battery drain due to background jobs, and nothing. Just pure value as it works flawlessly.
Thanks for the in depth answer. But wouldnt the gesture like writing faster then having to put up an keyboard and presseing a key?

LaunchBoard was built with the main intention of reducing the number of clicks needed to get to the app you want to launch.
If opening the keyboard using the app icon and then pressing a key seems a lengthy process for you, that's the exact reason why we provide the LaunchBoard homescreen widget along with the app.
As you can see, the widget houses all the keys, and with a quick press of a key from your homesceen, you can get to your app.
Using LaunchBoard from the application icon has its own advantages too. It can be readily accessed from any home screen window, if pinned to the bottom tray.
Also, it shows the favorite apps when opened. So, if you have marked all your frequently used apps as Favorites, they can be readily accessed by just a single click using the LaunchBoard shortcut icon
Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback.
Battery consumption was a very high priority for us, so we built LaunchBoard and made it do just what was necessary to function the best.
If you have any suggestions, please share it, we will strive hard to make the app even better for you.
Thanks.
Add an option to change layout to qwerty. Please. :fingers-crossed:

@devthrob It's an incredible tool, in miui we don't have application drawer, to find an application becomes a problem, Launchboard is not a replacement for the launcher, it's a great complement to the launcher of miui, it doesn't break with the design and is very practical.
Two suggestions,
1. Customize the size of icons and labels in the results.
2. Exclude/hide applications from results
Thanks for the great job.

We initially didn't opt for QWERTY layout, as it isn't a traditional keyboard where u type in words. U always press just one key, and the app that you want shows up. For this, the alphabetical order seemed to fit more naturally, as not everyone is very familiar with QWERTY, especially old aged ones.
That said, we'll add an option for QWERTY layout in a near future update if you still insist, as your comfort is what matters the most, and we have the duty to make sure that every single user should be in their comfort zone when using the app.
Hope you enjoy the other aspects of the app until then.
We would really appreciate a Play Store review, if you enjoy using the app.
Thanks again!
Great app. QWERTY option would be nice as well, I agree.
i'm finding it quite useful with swipe up gesture to open this app in nova.
I feel like for the widget, you should hide the keyboard part of the app. selecting from a keyboard widget to open another keyboard is a bit strange!
An option to resize the icons + icon pack support, are about the only feedback I have to add. Solid effort!

I did gave a play store review. With the same request though. Rated 5 stars. It's actually quite odd to use 2 layouts of keyboards so I requested for qwerty. The alphabetical is nice but it kinda confuses regular qwerty users.
Hope to see an update soon. :good:

Don't forget to leave a Play store review about your experience, if you haven't yet.
Thank you.
Could you add an option to the poll to launch the LaunchBoard from a side or edge gesture?
