RIFF JTAG for MF3... - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 General

According to the folks at the GSM forums, an update including the MF3 bootloader files has been added to the latest firmware for RIFF / JTAG repair. I have not tried this (I don't have a JTAG box) and I am not affliated with the people that provide this in any way. I also don't endorse anything, I am just relaying the information I have read. But for Developers or people with their own RIFF / JTAG boxes, this could be helpful. I am including a link to the post about the RIFF / JTAG MF3 update from the GSM forum, if it isn't allowed please feel free for a moderator to remove the link. Otherwise, you can go to the GSM forum and search for I337UCUAMF3 JTAG RIFF (or similar) and it should come up. Again, I have not tried this so if you decide to it is at your own risk. Good luck.

Meaning of AT&T Fuze Unlocked .....

Hi there,
I am pretty new to the forum and I havent had much experience with locked / unlocked devices so my question might be a bit naive.
I wanted to buy the AT&T Fuze from ebay and the offer says its unlocked.
Does that mean I can use it in Pakistan and Middle East. And secondly, can I change its ROM to the standard middle east rom version.
I ll be thankful if someone could guide me regarding the problem.
Thanks
yes you can
unlocking your phone will allow you to use your phone with another service provider (instead of just At&t).
You can change your ROM regardless of whether your phone is unlocked or not.
I'll get specific for you.
1. Sim unlocked
(the most common unlocked terminology) means you can put any sim in the device and use that carriers network.
As far as ROM flashing goes (don't get the two confused)
2. Security unlocked and Hard SPL.
Hard SPL is for flashing a ROM, However since you live outside the U.S. you might want to flash a Radio, This is were Security Unlocking comes into play.
If you want my recommendation, Use "Olipro's" unlocker in the Raphael Rom Development section. It is worth the money and very easy to use.

Bricked Magic's

Lets get together and try and un-brick these phones.
Ive been following the thread in the G1 forum and there is currently an un brick method using JTAG for the (G1), but currently no method for the Magic (G2) at present either with JTAG or the Serial console.
Ive been slowly working though the images extracting commands that work both with S-ON and S-OFF phones and gathering information from other threads.
I think it would be a good idea for us to get together and bring our knowledge into one place and solve this Recovery Image ARM11 Mode3 issue, what do u think ?

[Q] Sending phone back for repair - Warranty Q

So my Phone was S-Off and rooted however it started to play up so went back to S-On and Un-rooted, HBOOT now reads ****Locked**** and S-On. Is this all I need to do, does something more need to be done, will they be able to tell? They said on the phone if warranty is voided then I must incur the cost of fixing it..
Id really appreciate your guys help.

[Q] One S Hard Brick after RUU update (S-ON and Locked)

Hi guys, something pretty bad happened tonight to my Htc One S.
I had maximusHD installed, so of course S-OFF and bootloader Unlocked. However, I was having some problems and decided to revert back to stock. I re-locked the bootloader, changed the CID back to the stock one and flashed the RUU. Everything went perfectly fine. Sort of. I noticed that the RUU I flashed was some kind of pre-release one (the whole interface was watermarked). I got that from androidruu.com
So I downloaded a newer RUU (yes, both of them were for the appropriate country) and flashed that one.
It went on normally for a while and then nothing. Black screen, no response, no charging light. It shows as QHSUSB_dload under Windows and as Qualcomm Gobi Wireless Modem under Linux.
Now, are RUUs so damn risky? Luckily the phone was Relocked and S-ON, so warranty should cover this. I read all kinds of threads about this problem but none of the proposed solutions worked... did I miss something or do really need to send it for repairs?
Thanks!

Hi,
I was stuck with the same issue. What threads have you tried I heard the only way is via JTAG but just wanna know if there is any other way
It seems like I could do something with the phone using QPST (which I have). What I'm missing are the device and chipset-specific files that need to be recovered from a working phone. There has been some talk about QPST and its usefulness here on xda, but I think they only made i work for some Samsung devices with Qualcomm chipsets.
Is there someone who is willing to help me, maybe by dumping the contents of his phone using QPST and posting them? I only need the SPL partition, which is the HBOOT i need to recover the phone.
Please, tell me I don't have to send it to HTC...

QPST is just a software right... no hardware is required for it ha!!!!... I thought jtag is the only way to access a bircked phone.
our pc is able to detect QHSUSB_dload and via that itself will we be able to flash a mobile if we have a system dump??
