[Q] HTC One S: How to turn on vibration when I text messages? - HTC One S

I want to turn on vibration when I want to text to someone so that I can easily do the texting without loooking at my cellphone (every press of the letter will produce vibration). I tried everything in settings -> HTC input, but I could not find it. I also changed the profiles from normal to vibrate but it is the same. I turned on the sounds when I text messages but I would also like to turn on vibration during texting.
I found it in HTC input settings but it is in "grey color" and I can not turn it on. WHY?
If anyone could help me, I would appreciate it a lot.
Thanks in advance!
SOLUTION:
Hey guys, I found it. The "Power saver" option should be OFF, so that this option "vibration when texting" is activated. This is so logical...
Thanks anyway, I'm glad if this helped someone....definitely helped me.

Can I show sms messages on screen when it arrives?

Wonder if there are ways to show incoming sms messages right on screen when they arrive... Currently I need to hit multiple buttons before I can read the sms message. Thanks!
Hi
There is an opption in the setting some where for this, sorry not sure where
Steve
hi,
install this and you have option wake up device on SMS (or something like this)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405749
Whenever I got an SMS it automatically displayed the contents on the screen, I don't remember where the setting was but I liked that more. There's a common tweak for wake up on SMS, just search "Raphael Tweaks" and you'll come up with it.
turn it on in the sounds and notifications settings (where you change ringtone, message tone etc).
tick 'display message on screen'
Thanks much everybody!

Vibrate on SMS

Hi..stupid question but i cannot seem to get my phone to vibrate whenever I receive a text or notification..can someone tell me where i can go to set this?
I tried going into settings, sound and display but i do not have vibrate as a selection in the notification ringtone tab.
Is there an app i can download that allows me to customize my sounds?
thanks!
the settings for notifications are within each messaging application. if you go to your sms application, hit the options button and go into settings. at the bottom you will find the notification settings, including vibrate and a ringtone selection. notifications for each of your messaging apps are configured this way.

Nothing you can do about that in android. Thats the default android vibrate for notifications. I think it sucks too, its way too short and too soft of a vibration.
What you can do is install SMS Popup. Go into settings on that app and enable notifications on it. It has more options for SMS notifications, like you can set a really long vibration. Just remember to then go into the Android messaging app and turn off notifications there, otherwise you'll get double notifications. This will only help fix the problem for SMS messages. I think android still sucks on incoming notifications for other items like emails, etc.
I REALLY like SMS Popup, its great.
whats the best custom setting. i am trying to set it so it virbates alot and i can feel it

[Q] enabling screen to turn on for text notifications

Hello I just received the HTC Sensation yesterday and this phone is amazing. I have one small issue though that I haven't been able to find using search.
I'm currently running Android Revolution 3.0.1 and whenever I receive a text while the screen is off, the notification rings but my screen remains off. I spent an hour already looking through settings and other options on "how to enable the screen to turn on when I receive a text" and I can't seem to find it.
Where/what is the option to enable it? Any help would be appreciated thank you.
Can't do it with the stock sms. Go sms and I think sms popup, maybe others from the market can do this.
Sent from my Leedroidified Htc Sensation.
+1 for SMS Popup
Use Tasker.
I also use SMS Popup, great app. Answer your sms messages right from the pop up. Lots of good settings to fool around with.
try handcent? whatsapp doesn't work too. kinda disappointed.

Screen on after text message

Does anyone know how to turn off the screen turning on when receiving a text message? I searched the settings but couldn't find anything?
Thanks
Actually, just found it out. It seems to be a buit in feature to the stock messaging app. I installed go sms and screen doesn't turn on.

How to disable screen turning on for ALL text messages received (ALL SMS apps)

Hey guys,
I just got a ZMAX 2 and am loving it so far for the most part. Except, there's one little thing that's really bothering me. I often have my phone in my pocket and I don't use a pin/password on my phone. Thus, when the screen turns on in my pocket when I get a text, it often starts tapping all over the screen. In addition in is a waste of battery imo!
What I've tried:
Looking all through the settings. Couldn't find anything. I've tried putting it in Do Not Disturb mode, mute mode, nothing stops the screen from turning on when a text is received.
I installed other messaging apps: I've used Hangouts, Messenger, and Textra and explicitly said 'do not wake screen'. It still wakes.
I tried disabling ALL notifications by the SMS app that I have set as default. Guess what: the screen still comes on (and then shows a blank lockscreen).
I'm starting to think this is a setting baked right in, independent of the default SMS app at the time. Will we need root to fix this problem?
Any suggestions/thoughts are greatly appreciated!
