I look forward to what goodies Android 4.4/KitKat and Project Chunky Peanut Butter will bring.

What will Google get in return by using the name KitKat?

Even if you do a survey it wouldn't be conclusive as i always lie during surveys. saying i do like them when in fact i obviously don't .
You could get 100% "like" result & it would be Kat..astrophically misleading.

Regardless, the point is that I was exaggerating, whether my last statement would be conclusive or not has little to do with the fact that the new version of android will be dubbed Kit Kat, whether you like the actual candy bar or not...

How about the words 'Android', 'Nexus' and 'Google Play' all over a very popular chocolate bar in almost every food store in the world.
Plus there will be posters in stores promoting the giveaway of Nexus 7's and Google Play vouchers.
This is a very clever and very powerful cross promotional exercise.

Next question... how much?
Your wife should make these and sell them on eBay, considering the time spent in making one of these, you should charge what you think is right
She could make cool pouches for phones (i.e. htc desire and nexus one as they practically have the same dimensions), less time consuming and they would definately sell like hotcakes!

I've heard they were going to put out this magazine before, and to me, its pretty much a joke of a magazine.
Let me give you an excerpt from the first page which made me laugh:
"In a world full of roadblocks, rules and lame limitations, Droid has none. It empowers you to do life on your terms, in your own time."
I'm sure you are all laughing right now.
Lets see, Droid has no limitations..... I'm assuming they aren't including forced bloatware and forced custom UI's? Right....
"It empowers you to do life on your terms..."
Obviously except for not being able to remove apps you don't want on your phone, or to choose to have a pure Android experience without Motoblurcrap or Sense or any other (I don't really mind Sense, but it's the principle!)
Other than that, the magazine is just trying to sell you accessories and phones. [/QUOTE]
The only reason it was mailed out.
Doc
It was a complete joke and nothing at all like what they were trying to promote before it came out. Marketing bull.
Truly scary would be a magazine titled "BlackBerry!" Can you imagine the sorry crap an issue of that would contain?!
Magazines still exist? Damn.

I can't believe this was even awarded to Apple as a patent. Doing a search on your mobile device is an obvious, why would the patent office ever grant it?
People should write letters to the patent office and ask that the office be investigated. They seem to be granting patents left and right to Apple.

While I don't think it's some vast conspiracy, I do admit some of the patents they've handing out recently to Apple are ridiculous. Universal search and now the vanishing scroll bar...those are both just stupid. They should be considered universal items across platforms and software. Just more patent trolling fodder for Apple.

I don't like it neither but I don't blame apple as much as the patent Office, they should have a Patten reform, is getting ridiculous now, I guess Steve Jobs really meant it when he said "boy have we patented it"

°°PROTEST°° NFL app won't run on rooted phones

As per the subject heading, the NFL's official app chose to not allow access to users with rooted devices.
It seems more and more app makers (from larger companies) are making this decision, and, obviously, it's lame... and of course they have the right to do this (so please don't argue that point) but it goes against the concept of Android's openness.
So, even if you have no interest in the NFL, I encourage all of you to download the app from the play store and review it at 1 STAR as a sign of protest. I've seen the app's rating go from 4.7 to 4.0 in the last couple days due to all the rooted users protesting the NFL's choice to do this.
Cheers
