I've heard they were going to put out this magazine before, and to me, its pretty much a joke of a magazine.
Let me give you an excerpt from the first page which made me laugh:
"In a world full of roadblocks, rules and lame limitations, Droid has none. It empowers you to do life on your terms, in your own time."
I'm sure you are all laughing right now.
Lets see, Droid has no limitations..... I'm assuming they aren't including forced bloatware and forced custom UI's? Right....
"It empowers you to do life on your terms..."
Obviously except for not being able to remove apps you don't want on your phone, or to choose to have a pure Android experience without Motoblurcrap or Sense or any other (I don't really mind Sense, but it's the principle!)

Other than that, the magazine is just trying to sell you accessories and phones. [/QUOTE]
The only reason it was mailed out.
Doc

It was a complete joke and nothing at all like what they were trying to promote before it came out. Marketing bull.

Truly scary would be a magazine titled "BlackBerry!" Can you imagine the sorry crap an issue of that would contain?!

Magazines still exist? Damn.

Android 2.3 coming in a few months for captivate

Hi,
I'm not sure which section of to put this thread in, but anyways. I was at AT&T buying some screen protectors for my captivate and the salesperson told me that 2.3 is coming in a few months for the captivate. I hope this will answer some questions. Hopefully the salesperson wasn't lying. But this is good new!!! PS there is the same post in the Q&A section that I accidently posted. I meant to post in the General section.

You couldn't have said it any better wonner, I will never believe anything any AT&T reps have to say.
AT&T sales people are extremely knowledgeable and always right.

Are you sure he said that last "for the captivate" part? I'm sure what he meant was "we'll eventually have a phone with android 2.3. It won't be the captivate, I'm just telling you now so you get your wallet ready."
My friend works for rogers up here in canada and he was saying the same thing about gingerbread. hopefully it is sometime soon within a couple of months.
Who cares where it comes from. If there's official 2.3.3 out somewhere, devs here will get their hands on it.
I'm with you

Would I like to see official 2.3 sure, but either way I'll end up running g-bread
Sent from my I896 using Fireyly 2.7
We will see. I wouldn't say give up all hope that 2.3 will ever get to us... but based on past history... don't hold your breath. Also, my experience with AT&T reps is there are a few that have a clue on Android and they are like us. coming to XDA and various blogs for their info. I don't think AT&T gives them official anything.

[REQUEST] Razer WoW Numeric Pad

I admit, I'm a WoW player. And I'm a Razer fan. I love their products, because they make it so convenient for a lot of things. But I no longer have my Razer mouse (or a computer, but friends do) and I would like to have just a remote app that works as a keyboard, with just the number pad. Starting with 1 in the top left, and 12 in the bottom right.
This is a little vague, I'm sorry. Lol.

Hopefully some one can relate. Lol.

So you want to be able to play your dk, well at least your rotation from your phone. I use unified remote but this only has a regular keyboard. I wouldn't think what you want would be out of the question, hardest part will be getting someone to make it since an app like that would be useless to 99% of people. In saying that I would use it on occasion for lols.

Oh I'm only playing a DK cause I'm on a friends account. Lol. Get him to 85, then earn Heirlooms for a new toon. But yeah, I understand what you mean. I wish I had my mouse back. So I didn't have to request this. Lol. But it would come in handy. Just using it with my left hand, and a mouse in the right would be easier than using a keyboard. I hate using that thing. Even though its razer. Lol.
That app your talking about would work, if the numeric keypad covered the whole screen.
But this app doesn't only have to be used with WoW. It can also be used for people that do inventory as a job, or doing taxes. Idk. Just an idea.

You know, I might just email Razer and see what they think. Lol. An addon for WoW compatable with Android.

Hahaha wow, this is interesting.. There must be something in the app that detects either the superuser app, or the bin file..
Either way, thats weird to see that google would implement something like that. I thought that with the nexus series they were all for rooting, although i'm sure this will happen on every rooted device.
Hopefully Google doesn't become apple
Sent from my Nexus S
we have known about this since day one, its nothing new. its to protect the companies that are putting out the movies from piracy. you can still rent them and watch them via your browser on the full youtube website, just not in the app. there are hacks/edits that temporarily hide the fact that you have root so that you can watch these movies with the app.
Ohhhh I see haha. Its alright i never rent movies anyways
Sent from my Nexus S
Crazy. How would having root access, contribute to piracy?
Google made this message so, they must be against it. Must be why we must use Superuser from a developer not associated with Google themselves

with root access you can steal the movie(copy/cut). its very easy, any troll can do it, even the big ugly scary bridge guarding trolls
Same here but
Maybe ota rootkeeper from supercurio allow to root and unroot at will could help renting movies unrooted and root it again after

Should be in the top 3 of any "must have apps" list out there (imo). Constantly updated & supported and has saved my ar*e more times than I care to remember.. if your still feeling cheap and know where to look the pro version's plastered all over the place for free but to be honest this is one of those apps where the developer deserves the support (again imo).

Short answer yes, totally worth it.
Because the pro version will let you go back to your homescreen (do not hit the back button!!) and tb can run in the background doing a restore or backup. That alone is a great feature. Another is scheduled backups, not sure if that's a pro feature or not though lol...
totally worth, you should buy it.
