I was looking through the folders to try and see which one was taking up all of my space, found the Samsung folder was at about 11 gigs but the three sub folders are nearly empty. The sub folders are just images, videos and music so I'm assuming that it's OK to delete this folder but unwanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something first. (everything I load besides apps goes onto my external SD card)

I just flashed cm 10.2 and I'm only showing 4gb internal memory with about .5gb avail. I don't know where my storage went either. Used SD analyst and it doesn't add up to 4gb. Wondering what happened to the other 4gb. Any ideas?

That happened to me too... The problem was that cm10.2 rom saves data to /sdcard not /sdcard0, so the files in /sdcard0 just stays there.... You can't delete the files inside because you can't access them. You need to flash the previous rom, and delete all files in /sdcard0, and reflash cm 10.2.
So does that mean a previous version of cm or whatever rom I had installed before cm10?

I think they are the same thing. Create a folder in in sdcard and you will see it in Sdcard0. Your 8gb of storage is 2gb for ROM, 2g apps and apps/data and 4gb storage.
thats weird
emm try to stay away from CM 10.2 , android 4.3 is not stable yet !
try CM 10.1 or a stable rom.. i advice you : slimrom build.8-OFFICIAL :good:

Greetings,
Of the 4 choices that I see displayed @Titanium backup:
System ROM
Internal
S.D. card
Ext.S.D.card
I'm having difficulty finding System ROM and Internal memory with my root browser/ file explorer.
Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Internal Memory is the same as SD Card, you can find it on /storage/sdcard0; for the external SD Card (Ext.SD Card): /storage/sdcard1. I think the rest of the files and folders outside the storage folder is System ROM.
So...does anyone have an idea of how to access my System ROM?
Thank you all!

ROM are system files, carries default apps and data of booting up your mobile, so you need not access ROM unless you needs ROM programming.
ken8864 is right! i once messed up with my system rom and my phone needed to re flash afterwards. BTW there are some applications that can be installed to view directories. Some might allowed you to view your system rom.
MyPhoneExplorer allows you to view it but don't mess with it if you don't know what you are doing.
Recently i DL flashed cynogenmod 10.1 by skulface..it works like fluid
But there is an big issue the internel sd card is showing only 4gb memory ...my all files and data lost...there is fully new sdcard....how do it come? Any solution?

Maybe the internal sd card is mounted as something don't existing. Try saving something in the internal sd and tell if it can be saved

I think it's normal. Samsung says, that SGS II Plus has 8 GB of memory, but the system uses the 4 GB. I'm also using CyanogenMod 10.1 and I have 4 GB too....

my post is probably not 100% related to your question, but this may help
you'll find your files if you use root explorer
mnt>sdcard>and all the files from your previous ROM are here. and inside "mnt>sdcard", you will see a folder called "0"
it's where your files of your int. sd card saved (CM10.1)
you should be a bit confused
here you go:
0 = the folder mounted for cm10.1, to save files separated from the original place
mnt>sdcard=the place where your files are saved in the original ROM
SO, installing cm10.1 actually (from what i make myself understand) made a file with root permission, and then all the things you need to save when you use cm10.1 will be saved there, for example, your sd card game data.
so you have some spaces occupied (from original rom, and also your current cm10.1) but you can't see what are those files if you use normal no root needed file explorers.
if you want to get back entirely 4 GB, format /sdcard in cwm.
everything, including mnt>sdcard and mnt>sdcard>0 will be wiped.
Hi all, posting here as I do not have 10 posts yet I am moving from 10.1.2 stable to Beans 19, besides backing up , wiping etc...and flashing beans is there any thing else I should do since I will be going from aosp to tw? No issues, however your internal "sdcard" will now be "sdcard0." Just how 4.2.x on up handles multi-users. Just a note, whenever I've gone between 4.1 and 4.2, I've backed up anything I want to keep that is on my internal sdcard to my external sd card, and wiped it in CWM. I format system, cache, data, sdcard before I flash any rom, and haven't had any issues other than my internal sdcard being changed (annoyingly) to sdcard0.

Hmm, not sure on that. Maybe someone else can say, but I never tried to rename it back to "sdcard." Worth a shot. The worst case is that is would say you cannot rename. I'm on a TW rom, and mine says "sdcard0" even though I've done all the wipes.
I used Beans 19 for a while with no problems. wipe as usual. I always move everything to external SD as well and then wipe and format then wipe again and then flash. Probably overkill but I've never had problems either. I use TWRP as well in case you care
The sdcard0 folder is on 4.2 ROMs, which I believe CM 10.1.2 is, no? Beans 19 is a TW 4.1.2 ROM , so the sdcard0 folder shouldn't be in there.

You're thinking of sdcard/0 which is on JB 4.2+. Sdcard0 is what the internal storage is called on TW.

Currently on a TW rom, Jelly Beans 19. A couple months back I had flashed an aosp rom and of course got the "0" folder. After switching back to TW, the folder remained. I flashed the restore SD zip by itself, along with fresh rom install, and it didn't fix it. I also formatted internal storage as well as SD card. For a couple days it was fine and then behold, that stupid folder is there again. Only bad part is, anything I download I have to merge into that folder so recovery will recognize it. I've done the formatting/ wiping several times. Any thoughts?

With a file manager go in to each folder of the zero move it out and when it says it's a duplicate there should be am option to merge the file storage and once you are done formatting again

the 0 folder is an emulated partition of the internal storage on your phone. i have one too. everyone does.
if you go into es file explorer, and go to the root of you phone, and then hit storage, you will see 3 options, "emulated", "sdcard1" and "0"
the "0" is a fake sd card. the internal storage is partitioned, in case something goes wrong you wont lose all your data.
i found this out the hard way lol forgot to back up and data wipe before flashing a rom once when i was half asleep, and you would think its all gone but no it was still all there. games, apps, contacts, the whole 9.

So I have two phones, a note 2 i317 and a skyrocket i727 running cm 10.2. I recently flashed cm and with that I went around to installing my apps. And after installing just a few apps, and I get the error, "insufficient storage available". I look in my storage section in settings and I discover two internal partitions, both labeled internal storage. One has 1.97GB available and one with 11.24 GB available. The apps seem to install only in the smaller of the two partitions. And in my manage apps section there is an option to move apps to SD card even though there is no SD card inserted. Of course all apps don't support SD card moving so this creates a problom. How do I remove one of these partitions so I can install more apps? View attachment 2323488View attachment 2323490

The 1.97GB is your total space on that internal storage. If the available space is only around 200-300MB then try deleting all the files in data, lost+found. You may need to enable root access for your file browser (I use ROM toolbox, root browser). There will be 1,000-7,000+ files in lost+found to delete, so be patient after clicking on lost+found while it generates. After selecting and deleting all, check your available storage. Should be around 1GB. Now your apps should be able to download and install
