Skyrocket i727 running cm10.2, want to remove partition. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

So I have two phones, a note 2 i317 and a skyrocket i727 running cm 10.2. I recently flashed cm and with that I went around to installing my apps. And after installing just a few apps, and I get the error, "insufficient storage available". I look in my storage section in settings and I discover two internal partitions, both labeled internal storage. One has 1.97GB available and one with 11.24 GB available. The apps seem to install only in the smaller of the two partitions. And in my manage apps section there is an option to move apps to SD card even though there is no SD card inserted. Of course all apps don't support SD card moving so this creates a problom. How do I remove one of these partitions so I can install more apps? View attachment 2323488View attachment 2323490

The 1.97GB is your total space on that internal storage. If the available space is only around 200-300MB then try deleting all the files in data, lost+found. You may need to enable root access for your file browser (I use ROM toolbox, root browser). There will be 1,000-7,000+ files in lost+found to delete, so be patient after clicking on lost+found while it generates. After selecting and deleting all, check your available storage. Should be around 1GB. Now your apps should be able to download and install

[Q] Rooted my Galaxy Ace but internal memory stays full

Yesterday I have rooted my Galaxy Ace and removed some pre-installed apps and also moved as many apps to the sdcard.
But the internal memory stays full and when I install for example the google docs app (4 mb) on my sdcard there is also added 4 mb to the internal memory.
When I look at App2SD it shows that the app is installed on SD card.
I rooted my device to get more free internal memory but up till now without any result.
What else can I do?
Best regards,
Carola
(Sorry my English is not very good but I hope you understand what I mean.)

move dalvik cache to SD-EXT partition in a2sdgui..
delete all apps in /data/local ..
this should work. it worked for me.
yeah... just search how to activate a2sd on your Galaxy Ace... the best way, flash Ketut Kumajaya's CF-Root kernel, and also a2sd files with it... then activate using terminal, and you are done...

[Q] Galaxy S Duos (GT-S7562) insufficient storage

I have a Galaxy S Duos (GT-S7562) and before some days i have rooted this phone to install Link2SD. reason was to move or link app to external SD card. But I fail to move or link. after some days when i was trying to install some app from play store it shows me insufficient storage so i skipped to install new app. later i have installed few unofficial roms and old firmware to get rid of this problem. but no luck.. so I installed samsung official firmware S7562XXBMD2. but similarly after installing 10 apps like pdf reader, go sms pro, skype, tube mate, mxplayer etc. it showing insufficient space and that i need to remove some app to recover free space. so what should i do. how can i resolve this issue. plz help me.

as I am a noob in this field so i would like to know how to do this. I mean how to swap internal and external memory
Ok.. I have just rooted my phone with clock work mode recovery and wiped delvik cache and this trick gave me to install a small app named sketch guru. but after that when i tried to install updates of stock app it failed due to insufficient storage. guys please help me.
Hi,
Check in folders /data/app and /system/app. If you find some *.odex file in one of these try to delete it.
This fixed a similar issue for me.

Maybe the internal sd card is mounted as something don't existing. Try saving something in the internal sd and tell if it can be saved

I think it's normal. Samsung says, that SGS II Plus has 8 GB of memory, but the system uses the 4 GB. I'm also using CyanogenMod 10.1 and I have 4 GB too....

my post is probably not 100% related to your question, but this may help
you'll find your files if you use root explorer
mnt>sdcard>and all the files from your previous ROM are here. and inside "mnt>sdcard", you will see a folder called "0"
it's where your files of your int. sd card saved (CM10.1)
you should be a bit confused
here you go:
0 = the folder mounted for cm10.1, to save files separated from the original place
mnt>sdcard=the place where your files are saved in the original ROM
SO, installing cm10.1 actually (from what i make myself understand) made a file with root permission, and then all the things you need to save when you use cm10.1 will be saved there, for example, your sd card game data.
so you have some spaces occupied (from original rom, and also your current cm10.1) but you can't see what are those files if you use normal no root needed file explorers.
if you want to get back entirely 4 GB, format /sdcard in cwm.
everything, including mnt>sdcard and mnt>sdcard>0 will be wiped.

At max storage capacity after installing CM10

I was looking through the folders to try and see which one was taking up all of my space, found the Samsung folder was at about 11 gigs but the three sub folders are nearly empty. The sub folders are just images, videos and music so I'm assuming that it's OK to delete this folder but unwanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something first. (everything I load besides apps goes onto my external SD card)

I just flashed cm 10.2 and I'm only showing 4gb internal memory with about .5gb avail. I don't know where my storage went either. Used SD analyst and it doesn't add up to 4gb. Wondering what happened to the other 4gb. Any ideas?

That happened to me too... The problem was that cm10.2 rom saves data to /sdcard not /sdcard0, so the files in /sdcard0 just stays there.... You can't delete the files inside because you can't access them. You need to flash the previous rom, and delete all files in /sdcard0, and reflash cm 10.2.
So does that mean a previous version of cm or whatever rom I had installed before cm10?

I think they are the same thing. Create a folder in in sdcard and you will see it in Sdcard0. Your 8gb of storage is 2gb for ROM, 2g apps and apps/data and 4gb storage.
thats weird
emm try to stay away from CM 10.2 , android 4.3 is not stable yet !
try CM 10.1 or a stable rom.. i advice you : slimrom build.8-OFFICIAL :good:

What to do Samsung Galaxy S2 Device memory full tried #9900# code not working

Hi
I have an unrooted Samsung Galaxy S2 phone which keeps having a message pop up saying Storage Space Running Out. I have checked the apps I have on the internal Device Memory and as you can see in the screenshots attached below I haven't got many apps installed on the phone now (as I progressively had to delete more and more of them off here due to this problem) so it's not an app problem (for the amount of apps I have installed I should at minimum have 1 Gb and more likely 1.5 Gb of space). I believe due to what I have researched that it is a problem with log files taking up room but to fix it I tried calling the code #9900# and it came up with the message on my phone: Connection problem or invalid MMI code. I don't know where to go from here to free up more space in the device storage part of my phone. (note I have space on the usb/sd section and on my external sd card so that's not a problem only the device storage section)

It's probably due to apps being updated, or maybe you've got app data hanging around from apps you've uninstalled, look in your Android folder.
Also, if your S2 is running 4.1.2 like most other S2's then it's also because you have a limited data partition, you can re-PIT or repartition your internal storage to give more space to data and/or system partition.

Hi thanks for the reply Droidriven. Yes I do believe it could be the app data from previously installed apps but like the log data files I don't know if I can or how to access it without rooting my phone. I know how to delete the data and cache of apps I still have on there (and tried that already) but if there is any remaining from previous apps I'm not sure how to go about that. Also, yes you are right in that my S2 is running 4.1.2 and that it has a limited partition (2GB Device Memory vs 11.50GB USB/internal SD storage). How do you " re-PIT or repartition your internal storage to give more space" and is there any problems that can come from doing this? Could the log files be taking up too much space?

This thread liked below is about the best place for help with S2.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/qa-friendly-qa-thread-t1648351
As for the re-PIT, try starting in the thread linked below, the developer there has created a way to repartition the i9100, he has adapted it to work on other models of i9100 and other models of S2, he may have adapted it or can adapt it for your i9100t.
