[Q] Xperia L low space problem - Sony Xperia L

Hi, just hoping any of you can shed some light on this.
My Xperia L storage space keeps getting ridiculously low. The last time I installed an app (Snapchat) I had over 600Mb of space left, and now its down to 9.1Mb and I don't know why, but it's quite bloody annoying.
If any of you could give me an idea as to what's causing this that'd be great

Check your internal storage...check two folders called "DCIM" & "LOST.DIR"...they ate memory for me too...

I already deleted the 2GB thumbnails on DCIM and the LOST DIR is already empty.
I try to scan my Device file and found out that proc directory(does this mean processor?) is about 7GB..
I don't think I can find the problem here.. So many folders and I just can't delete files here because I think it's the brain of the phone.. T.T
Build No. is 15.3.A.1.14

Using a CM10 based ROM maybe?
Go to Settings > System > Physical buttons > Show app button (or something similar, uncheck it)
Then reboot.

Without an error message or the name of the app, we can't help you.
Edit: Nevermind, seen your message. Are you trying to pirate an app per chance? If you have any .odex files, in /data/app with the same name as the app, which could get created if you're trying to pirate an app, that could pose a problem with the install.
Make sure you have enough space on your "external" memory too, not just internal. Some apps will need to install additional data to the SDcard and show you that warning.

That's all your stuff needed to run your phone properly. If you want to downsize it you can delete unused ringtones and other sounds, but dont tinker with much more or you could brick your phone.

I've had this problem pop up even after running a clean install until I finally figured it out (for myself at least) SD card/DCIM/THUMBNAILS. It would usually use about 3.75 Gig if not more, until I would delete it and free up the space as it's really not needed.

[Q] Thread-xxxx consuming RAM

I was checking what apps consumes RAM from my galaxy nexus (running android 4.3, franco kernel), as there was a case when my available RAM went down to as low as 2MB!! So as expected, almost all applications get killed after removing them from foreground (including Launcher).
I checked System Monitor, and there were "apps" named Thread-xxxx consuming RAM. At one time, I noticed they were consuming around 80+MB to 90+MB. In the screenshot I attached, there are three Thread-xxx consuming around 50+MB each.

}
Can anyone explain what are they for? They are not apps that can be "force closed", tapping on them doesn't do anything in system monitor.
They seem to free their consumed RAM after restart. So if I'm running out of RAM, i only need to restart my phone. Any other way to free their RAM without restarting?
Please tell me what other info I need to provide.. Thanks!
By the way, these Thread-xxxx processes appears only when the option "Show system processes" is checked.
I was again able to get a screenshot with those processes consuming RAM. Can't seem to find a way to free ram other than reboot.

Thanks for taking time to reply,
but I need to know, on a user perspective, how do I kill those threads?
I'm not doing any app development.
I was trying to see whether one app is causing this problem. The first one I checked is Skype.
I didn't turn it on for 2 to 3 days, and no Sign of those Thread processes.. Until I made a video call with Hangouts, immediately after the video conference these Thread processes showed up again. See the attachment. It started with only one (the 70MB) then this morning there were two of them.

I tried going back to Stock Kernel to see whether I'll see any RAM problems, but after almost a week of using stock kernel, I haven't experienced any of these problems. But i miss my good battery life with this kernel..
by the way, after reboot, I don't have these Thread-xxx processes, but after a few hours they start to show up (see the attached image). They're all 20+ processes. Although right now they don't consume RAM yet.
I hope somebody can give me a hint as to what these are. Googling is no use. Or at least a good keyword to use will also be fine.

you shouldn't have to reboot everyday. I suspect this is similar the memory leak issue that some users are experiencing. yes reboot does help, but it still comes back which isn't the solution.
Do you use Google Music? That app caches a lot. If you want to know what takes up your storage, download DiskUsage from the Play store. I always see Google Music taking up a lot of space. Then I just clear cache in the Google Music app.

[Q] Android Without free RAM!!!!

Hi! I have an Xperia E dual (C1604) and i'm with this problem, everytime i look the phone have only 90~30MB of free RAM!So every eight hours must restart the phone! I'm using the Experia Black Edition ROM, greenify in all my apps (except the launcher and keyboard), and i'm having problems to acess big sites and play hard games because of this problem. Can someone help me?
Hello.
No one can exactly predict the problem/culprit without further information. But i think you should start with looing up, which apps or services is exactly taking the RAM. It would be a nice idea to try this app, [Startup Manager: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=imoblife.startupmanager&hl=da], and remove some startup items and see if the problem persists.

In either way you wont be able to play high end games since its a low ram device i had the exact device but i threw it out the window and got a better phone suggest you doing that + more ram wont give you anything since the cpu and gpu is really really crap. so if you dont need to play games and just dont want the system to lag i suggest installing Android LimeOs 1.1 or 1.12 since its very very light weight i have
xperia go and another phone on xperia go it has 512 ram and with lime os there is about 200-100 mb left
thats the limit of free ram cuz the system rezerves about 300 mb

Guys, my problem is, after hours, my android become slow, and without free RAM, i installed the "watchdog" app, and i saw, all memory is consumed by system apps (some are necessary, some not) and Whatsapp closes, my Launcher (smartlauncher 2) closes too, and it's pissing me off!
