I'm glad you enjoyed that vincom, I thought that a few might. I almost linked him to the Ubuntu build from Toyes.
To the person asking about what rom to flash, you really just need to try out a few and see what suits your needs. The link I gave you was a rom from 2011, I wanted you to see it and realize that it was a ploy to get you to try out a few on your own and let you know that you're not going to get anyone around here that knows anything to tell you what rom is the best because they are all great in their own ways.
Most of the roms in this forum are going to be daily drivers. Our devs don't put out half complete projects. Almost all of them will give me around 15 hours total time on with around 3-5 hours of screen on time.

@vincom . . Yes buddy . . I go through your stickies 1st in this forum . . basically i bought my skyrocket 2 weeks ago . . i was on ics 4.0.4 . . then i read your post for root and custom recovery but i checked others also so every one prefers me to install twrp 2.6.0.0 after that i just installed stock Jelly bean 4.1.2 through odin 1.58 it was successful and running smooth so far but the main problem is battery drains so fast then i download beanstalk 4.2.2 it was good working fine but games are freeze and not running dont know why i install custom kernal also and overclock it too but it was no good . . and after then i installed your cm 10.1 jb 4.2.2 it has also the same problem as bean stalk so here im stucked with custom roms now i restore my backup and again on stock jb 4.1.2 .. please im needy of your help please guide me . . Thanks . . And my English isn't so proper so far . . sorry for that also . .
then you should of know not to ask for which is the best rom . read the battery thread it should help, its in the 1stop sticky, takes a couple of recharges to settle things down on jb iirc

Received my Galaxy S2 Skrocket last week and absolutely. Really fast, and the screen is absolutely amazing. I have been lurking on the forums looking at all the different methods in rooting. The phone shipped with 2.3.5 and kernel version 2.3.6. Haven't been able to do an OTA update either to 2.3.6 so I am just thinking about rooting. Anyone know which one I should use?
Root | CWM | ODIN | SGH-I727 and SGH I727R Skyrocket?
Root [ACS] Skyrocket Easy Root - Windows/Mac/Linux
SuperOneClick v2.3.1 (using zergRush)
S2 Roto v1.5.1 - One click root and UnRoot solution for all Samsung Devices
or DoomLords Easy Rooting Toolkit
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
IF its 2.3.5 do one click root its the best.

Thanks for the thread I'm looking for a way to root as well
I have a rooted skyrocket, with touch clockworkmod, and i was wondering. If i were to flash a rom onto my skyrocket, and i decided to return to stock, can i still flash it using cwm or must i use odin? I saw a thread earlier informing to use odin to get back to stock, but im just making sure its ok that i use cwm instead thanks. Sorry again, im a noob
Cwm will stay on your phone. Just use a rom thats rooted. (If it doesnt say its not then it surely is) all will be well.

the rom i was referring to is {STOCK} {ICS} {UCLF6} {4.0.4} - CWM5 ZIP - DeOdexed - ZipAligned - 10-JUL-2012 , its not rooted but is cwm flashable

if the dev of the rom says its ok to use rom manager, fine, but if you are having problems w/said rom dont go trying to find solutions if your first problem was using rom manager, you just wont know if thats the cause or not.

U can use rom manager but problems are much more likely. I recommend doing any cwm activities from within cwm itself. I flashed for the first time 1 month ago and I fully understand where u are coming from. It may look intimidating but once u start it is quite simple

No, altered said in the PA thread that he was working on aospa, so... That is what A2trip was pointing out, with his screen shot that he included in his post.
Also this has been asked and answered so many times now. AOKP will most likely not come to this phone, but there is CM10 and CM10.1 if those ever become bug free then maybe, but I would highly doubt it.

No need to be sorry, just read the stickies/search b4 asking, theres a reason for them being there, theres a "ask anything" thread but it will probably get you the same results as u got here.
read the dev thread for a rom and then decide if you want to try the rom and see if it will do what you want it to do, if it does what you wanted it to do then you can share your results/glee by posting in the dev thread for that rom so then we would all know.
although games might work on cm based roms, u should also try the stock based roms.
in general all this info is in the stickies which most of them are mine and it took a lot of time and patience to write them just to help the newbs coming here, if theyre not going to read them then they might get flamed or be made fun of.

You cannot ask what is best. That is against the rules. Good luck in finding your best Rom.

if you read the 1stop sticky you would see that's its updated and that there is no link for a cm10.2 kernel, if you don't even want to do the basics by doing some reading first wtf are you going todo when you try to oc the kernel
