It might work after all our final motto is to power our USB Hub/Pendrive Test it and update your results here :good:

Maybe we didn't need usb hub to power anymore if kernel dev manage to undervolt cpu/gpu voltage then make the voltage to supplying in micro usb port. I think it will work, but it's just my idea, because cpu/gpu can be undervolt so why not give the rest volt to usb port to make otg works. Btw, it's just my idea, and actually idk how much voltage needed for otg..
Btw thank you very much for the OP to make the OTG Guide. Will update the index threads soon if I'm on my pc.

You are right if we could under volt and supply the reqd voltage to the pen drive then we don't need these methods to run but for the time being this method works flawlessly. Welcome :highfive:

is there any such rom available, if yes plz tell me where can i get it, if no then tell me is there any hope for such roms in the future,.......thanks for replying..... :good::good::good:

Nope roms and kernel both have to be tweaked so currently no kernel support usb host mode with power you w'll have to wait till dev find a break through

nice guide
i saw some geeks/nerds peel usb otg cable and solder power wires to their phones battery
it's silly but they doing it and believe that this the only way
but your guide is stylish and smart

@yamin8000 actually i too saw many guides on OTG but after seeing them I formulated my idea in them by just supplying correct voltage externally thats all and thank you

LOL I just tried a different cable and it worked....
I cannot believe it was the cable...
Well now I will know what to do if something is not working the way it should, before I spend all night trying to figure it out and banging my head against the keyboard, and try different cables.

you're welcome
I don't know if you have figured it out yet but you should be able to install the drivers through kies. Superone click and away you go.
Just trying to help. Then you have to download 3e recovery and extract. Put the recovery file in your root sd card. Find it and reboot into recovery and reinstall packages. If that doesn't work use ROM manager to flash cwm.

dman, kies recognized my Infuse. Maybe it depends on the Rom that we're running.
It ain't right. I figured that I would use Kies and take a pic. But now I can't get a connection.

Kies has recognized my Infuse since day one. The problem is you can use any of the functions of the Kies software.
Something to note however is that it only works on one of my PCs. I have a Dell Studio XPS 9000 desktop that Kies will not work on... I have a feeling that it is something to do with the USB drivers . I also have a Dell Studio Laptop that Kies works great on. I have not looked in to why ... just happy to have one working LOL.

Tell me what you think, about to drop the dimes on this.
Play store now supported with firmware update.
Ok I bought this thing and it came today. Freaking awesome so far. No play store, but amazon app store is sufficient.
Using my 55 inch LCD, hdmi cable supplied, WiFi, go launcher.

The use of the device is a little quirky at first. Getting use to the air mouse takes a little bit, but not bad. Skype works good, I did have to get a new hdmi cable since the supplied cable took a **** only hours after first use. I did switch the launcher to use go launcher. The stock launcher is very generic adw. I use this on my 55 LCD, not a good plan If you wanted a netflix machine. The android app streams at a super low resolution, and when shown on a big screen it sucks.
Some live wallpapers don't work, and apps made with low resolution graphics suck.
All in all, for skype it is great, the reason I bought it. Gaming is ok, the air mouse is a cool feature after learning to use it. Now that the play store works, I'm a happy guy.
The memory storage is goofy however. There is 8gb of storage, but only 500mb for apps on the data partition. The rest is nan storage which I think works similar to an SD card. You can transfer your installed apps to it, but by default they install to thelower storage first.
I am not sure if I'd recommend it yet, but it is a cool thing for a Skype device. It seems to be a beta product yet though.

how is battery drain for this Kernel ?
I am looking for ROM and Kernel with minimal battery drain during sleep (not power off)
my current Tilapia, 4.4 stock ROM and Kernel is suffering from > 5% / Hr battery drain during sleep in airplane mode

Does this kernel allow me to enable fast charge? Upgrading to 4.4 was hardly worth it since it no longer works...

all kernels in this pack and a few more updated kernels have been put on silvernexus.co.nr
downloaded kernels maybe flashed via fastboot or using something like flashify.

[Q] Kernel with USB otg support

Hi all,
Which kernel or kernels support USB otg for Nexus 5 kitkat 4.4.2?
Franco do quite well.
I use this kernel and has no mention of USB OTG support that i seen.however i use a Sony 16g micro USB Flash drive with Stickmount ,Root explorer and works really well

Franco kernel is the best

I know that CM supports USB OTG by default without the need to flash another kernel or use stickmount app. And also it charges the phone when I connect my usb 3.0 HDD with additional power to the USB. But why can't other ROM developers implement this option?

Using franco from last 3 months and i haven't seen a post with bricks.. But having a nexus and bricking it? ... Never had problems with franco and i think it's the most used kernel here at XDA..

This is all i plug in with no power source and no extra cable/wires.
Stickmount pro
Root explorer pro
Pro versions just foe the extras and supporting the devs

I've read the entire Franco thread for both the N5&10 and never read of anyone bricking their phone due to that kernel.
I use rooted stock with Franco r34 on both my N5&10 and OTG works well with the aforementioned stickmount and USB OTG Helper.

That's because you can't brick with a kernel unless:
1) You flashed it wrong (disconnected power through flash or something)
2) You flashed the wrong kernel for your device and perhaps supplied too much voltage to hardware.

Everything looks very good, really liquid smooth!
I have problems with USB connecting to PC - on WIN7 keeps connecting and disconnecting "MTP device".Cannot connect neither as mass storage. Also, I have LED indication of charging on USB, but it is not shown on battery icon (not showing on AC neither). messages "usb connected" and "usb debbuging connected" keeps showing in notif.area after disconnecting USB.
Didn't tried BT, I'll try later.
Can anyone confirm USB problems, or I did something wrong?

Please use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52502805&postcount=407 for Bt. With USB I have no problems at all, but I use Linux (ubuntu 14.04). I haven't tried on windows yet.
* Do not try xposed framework. It is not working yet ( Roms error not mine, the Liquid Team knows about it).
New buid is up. Much more stable, a lot of fixes and latest Trebuchet from CM11.
Enjoy the best ROM for P1 !!!
On this first version i couldn't pair BT with another phone (HTC)-simply doesn't see any BT device.Didn't tried with PC.
I'm amazed with number of customizations, especially in performance settings!Great job!

Bt is fixed and this build is much more stable.
Can I flash the update whitout doing wipes?

Installed new version - BT still not working, can't detect neither mobile device or PC (Win7).
Initially had same problem with USB, but discovered that when you turn off USB debbuging, it connects ok as usb mass storage.Everything else seems ok.
Spanorg, can you put back battery charging indication on battery icon on some next release?
Can't open Google play store in new build... Why?

Hey. Runs as every other rom.
But one bug (Thats on all kitkat roms) The Screen Off Animation is broken. After Turn off phone it pops a sec again.
Can'T find an option for disable turn off animation
Sometimes phone hangs up. (Full Wipe , Apps are all manually reinstall) Battery consumption seems a bit high..
I use zipaglin apps ? and clear cache after boot? Can this it bee ?
@spanorg. Can you please fix the camera bug on cm10.2 ? This was the fastes an stables rom and battery consumption was so good. But the camera bug ist totally anoying
