First Beta is On-line
PORTING THE ROM:
You will need your device's stock JB (4.1.1 ) Rom
MY Rom after Porting is booting, but im getting FC on the SystemUI (i will need to check and re-check it later) when i get Home from work.
Steps to Port:
- USE the 3.4.0 JB Kernel (zImage)
- USE RAMDISK from 3.4.5 , except init.rc (use the one from 3.4.0)
On the init.rc change the bootclass with the one from 3.4.5
Use the folowing from your stock Rom:
----> And Paste / Replace in the Port (original) ROM

/ etc/ firmware
/ lib/ hw
/ lib/ modules [U]AND files[/U]
/ etc/ vold.fstab
/ etc/ vold.fstab.nand
Rebuild the new boot.img, and test.

Add to bug list, fm radio not working, volume doesnt change, its just either max regardless on what level you set it or mute, apks dont install except when you push em to system

On my build rear camera is working my friend,For APKS we have to set app cache storage in our kernel otherwise we cant install apks.

So thats wht causing apks not getting installed, how do we do that??? I also got camera working by using the camera.default.so of 4.2 rom but focusing is not working and rear camera has red tinting but front camera just works fine

Autofocus is also working.Actually as per my knowledge we have to set some storage for apks in kernel,i.e app cache storage.we have to ask marcellusbe for some help;He is galaxy 3 developer,Hillbeast also.My build is for Intex aqua wonder....will post soon...

How do you do the autofocus? Tapping on the screen doesnt do it and long pressing on the shutter button takes burst shots

autofocus is related to some libs and some smali files in framework. you need to replace them. just check xda, there is a porting tutorial somewhere.
working on the wifi issue.
also, adb remount isnt working. i need to check that first, i cannot live without that.

In order to keep all the bugs listed, as i said yesterday to superdragonpt on tmn smart a18 Facebook Portuguese page:
- calls dont' work
- 3 g works
- quick commands to the network as to see our bill in the screen works perfectly
Made two calls, and cannot ear anything, call counter increases as 10 seconds or more. Seems phone is stuck. In the tow, one phone rebooted, and in the other process android.phone crashed.

Instructions
Extract the AOKP/PARANOID ANDROID ROM and put its contents in the INPUT folder. So the input folder should have now META-INF and system folders at its root.
Extract the Defy/Defy+ CM10/CM9 ROM and put its contents in the OUTPUT folder. Same as above.
Run Port.bat!!
Notes
During the process you will be asked if you want to copy libandroid_runtime.so. Press y to copy or any other key to ignore(CAPS Y is not a yes).
If you choose not to copy and your ROM boots, its fine!. If ROM doesn't boot, then delete the output zip and run the tool again and this time choose to copy the libandroid_runtime.so. If still ROM doesn't boot then we have a problem . Post here and someone will try to help you!.
For PARANOID ANDROID try pressing y first. It needs libandroid_runtime.so
When porting for second time, empty the input and output folders and re-copy the files. Do this each time.

Removed Older versions by accident
at the moment, u dont have to copy "libandroid_runtime.so" for porting AOKP JB from Nexus S, so just press "n" when asked to copy that file.

The Defy apps are taken care of!
Its best if you use only Nexus S ROMs right now! The build.prop editor is now tailored for Nexus S ROMs. The ROM may boot but build.prop will have false info.
I have ported manually aokp maguro and is better than SGS, more features.
Maybe we can use ROM Control and SystemUI from that in this port, I will try ..

everything else is working fine
some things u might have missed :
automatic brightness settings , navigation inside ( setting > display ), etc .. are these options defy specefic and they should be merged , or its AOKP specefic ??

Using nexus s. Nt galaxy nexus
The problem is my build.prop editor searches for crespo and changes to jordan. Thats the only issue. In maguro it cant find crespo.

Well its just a trial version at the moment, from next version onwards u can port from any of the nexus s, galaxy nexus and galaxy s2. One-click and done.

This only automates porting. Whatever doesnt work in the base ROMs dont work in the output. Check if defyparts is there in system/app in the output zip.
ROM booted right?

yes defyparts.apk is in OUTPUT directory ( system/app) ..
also the button backlight and automatic backlight options , are present and working well on the rom i extracted in output directory >..
m just saying that , there might be some things left .. do check for them no offence

Decompile your output framework and edit the ButtonsBacklightValues in arrays.xml.

we dont have any other aokp builds
on AOKP port by brajesh button backlight doesn work , but it does have defy settings
cause i dont have any singnal until i set correct baseband on defy parts

Hillbeast is working hard to port 3.4 kernel to our device, as he stated 3.4 is no where near to use.
Marce is right now porting it using CM7 kernel. We can get a smooth JB, but not the smoothest, take it with a pinch of salt there.

I hope, once marcel able to provide a "Flash-able build" he would add the credit list and Dev-list.
When devs use ths samsung kernel for developing, they have to change the ROM source code extencively to work with the kernel. Also many features like data usage manager and bluetooth strongly rely on kernel, and needs more than just kernel or ROM modification to make it work.
For bluetooth, samsung had very different ROM and KERNEL working together and was engeneered by the devs as they had all the code and knew the system.
On other hand, our devs don't have access to the whole source, and can't make the perfect ROM.
once the kernel 3.x Project is finished, the standard drivers in android will be more usefull.
I guess marcel is quite busy these dayz... imho the working list is good enough for the rom to be released to the public.. but after all its marce's project and he is more experienced. Anywayz, does any one know what is planned to be fixed before the first release. Cause the working list is now the same as ics (except mobile data) so being on ics now is not worth as we have better.

I too wonder the same I think he should have created the thread after completing build 1 , because I cannot control the excitement , well I think just thinking that he will release after fixing mobile data because it is very important let's hope right only he knows when he is going to release it

- You can flash this over any ROM, you just need to wipe cache & dalvik cache before that.
- To avoid bugs just wipe the data partition as well / Factory Reset (But remember to backup via CWM before you do that.)

We'll need a RED camera for that which captures 1000s of frames per second.
On a serious note you could compare a device which has JB released for it by the manufacturer / has JB OOB side by side with our R.
Maybe that could give you a clue if Project butter is in action or not.
Google Now still not working???
And i found phone to be smooth,is there any substantial difference between project butter and our CM10??

@Adam: As for the camera, bluetooth etc features that are not working, how do you plan to get them working?. I mean do we have the required drivers to get these up and running? or do we have to rely on Sammy to release an official update?
The progress looks really promising. Project butter or not, CM10 is definitely going to be a much smoother experience overall as compared to ICS. Can someone confirm whether Google Now works in this alpha version?

Google Now is not working for me.But overall smoothness of the phone,awesome..Will update after i restore all my app and if smpothness stays tge same...

So i just did a system dump of the Huawei P1 and i think the radio Might work i got all the Libs frameworks now need to modd it for CM10 + ICS

on Huawei its at dev/radio0

yeah it always shows incorrect upload speed only have 512kbps upload internet is crap in my country they expensive as **** lol I will try again if that fails I will just do the github thing and upload the patchrom I used the lu6200 as template

it should at the least bootloop it patched the framework files without issue the only apps i patched was Gallery and ArcCamera
okay i should edit my reply to ,it gets stuck on the lg logo, restarts after a bit , then goes into recovery

hey defcomg , so i tried the mui port you posted above ,and added the line to the updater-script and had samnos j/h kernel , and instead of rebooting i get stuck on the "secure booting unsuccessfull" black screen, ive already flashed the signed u-boot but still nothing. Anyone else tried it ??

Only saw this now According to the 2X Forum you need to move that file the issue i think it's refrencing files that do not exist in that dir

Then Secure boot needs to be turned off in Ramdisk does it logcat? on that screen
ok I just copyd it to that folder and cept the old one in the p920 directory

a 'different' kind of rom, as most folks know. too much proprietary stuff in here.
the rom zip is also different from the dev's other rom. maybe it's the customisation.
out of curiosity and wanting to delete unwanted stuff, i opened the rom zip....
well, i tried 3 'variants' of the rom. all of them installed and booted fine.
1. with some stuff removed from /system/app
2. with the /data folder deleted
3. the rom, as downloaded.
in the first 2 cases, even basic customisation is not possible. in the 3rd case, too many notifications despite turning them off.
in short, i couldn't further customise the rom to my liking. needless to say i reverted to stock.
forgot to mention i got system ui fc on all 3. i don't recall the exact situations, though.
thanks for the effort. i'm sure there'll be a few takers for this rom. i'd like to read about their experiences.

i saw that too. dunno what's gonna happen when that update is applied.
if you're gonna update, make sure you have a nandroid backup at hand - to revert, if required.
i couldn't find a way to disable that update-check. also, too much of baidu/xiaomi interference.
a simple thing as trying to set your desired ringtone fetches a load of chinese [email protected] from their servers.
maybe i shouldn't complain; i really didn't spend enough time with the rom to judge harshly.

Its totally a stock MIUI.
So it has many chineses apps (which u can delete without harm)
Dont even bother about about the update
see the picture closely
one word weekly
tell u everything:laugh:
Just switch off that notification.
Just use wsm tool -the exposed of MIUI.
install MI tools, theme authentication
and good togo
My phone looks like almost iphone with ios theme.
Its ok if u dont liked it

12 hours of moderate usage only 40% drain its great
Only problem I found when ever I take pic from default camera its viewable, it say like no tumbnail. Is there any solution for that. At present I'm using other camera app

And update was available for 4.7.11(weekly build), downloaded. It was about 400MB or so. When given update after download, it reboots to recovery and tries to flash but its gets a error message which persist only for a blink of a sec and reboots back to present version. Couldn't even read what's the error

Try clearing chache of camera app.
settings - apps - camera app - clear data - clear chache.

U shouldn't update like that.
the rom has to be modified.
As they release roms each week updating is just not possible.

Unable to use camera after flashing from kitkat. I dont know what is the problem. flashed the patch file also. tried with other roms. But no JB roms working when flashing from Kitkat
