[Q] [HELP][Q] Clueless on rooting my htc device {Please Read} - HTC Inspire 4G

My Device:
Htc Desire/ Inspire HD.
SOFTWARE INFOMATION
Android Version: 2.3.5
Htc sence version: 3.0
Software number: 3.13.707.4
Hello to anyone who is viewing my thread. I'm new here to Xda-deveopers.Com and i would like to know is there any application or form of service that could root my Htc Desire Hd?.
Well this is what has been happening; Ive downloaded multiple applications such as UnlockRoot, HTC QuikRoot, etc. I've been getting errors on all of them, i forgot what they were because I'm so depressed that i can't root my phone D: Haha.
If you require any information about my situation please post it here in the thread.
If you have a solution to my problem that would be greatly appreciated.
I'm not sure if i should just send my phone off to someone on eBay to root it but that sounds a bit dodgy aye. Cheers

Like i said. I've used everything and that doesn't work as of two weeks ago. It's complicated bull****. Too many things popup at the same time and i dont know which one to click. A set of instuctions for a dumbass like me would be nice.

You need to give more detail on what went wrong when you used those tools. We can't help without more information. A set of instructions even simpler than the Easy Ace Root Tool would be tough to find.

[Q] older version htc evo 4G

Hi I am trying to root my HTC Evo it say its the older version can some one please tell me how to root my phone. I have been trying to find out myself but I have had no luck. Can u plz help!! what do I have to do !!
Not to sound like a complete ****, but you must not be trying very hard. Check out the HTC Supersonic (Evo) section. Go to the Android Development subforum, and there are at least 4 or 5 methods to root older Evos. At least one should be within the first three pages.
yea man, please spend some time reading the evo forums, like at least a few hours.
The easiest way to root, since you obviously dont know much about it, is to to the Unrevoked method. Read about it here, then go to unrevoked.com.

[Q] Inspire 4G rooting help!

Hello xda forums! The Inspire 4G is my first Android phone and already I want to root and install ROMs that fit my personal preference. The problem is I don't know what to do. I came across the thread" [DEV][GUI][RC1][GPL][3-03-2011] HTC Inspire 4G Simple Root and S-OFF" and found that it would be as easy as one click! But unfortunately, I do not know the first thing there is to rooting my phone. If someone could please list the steps I need to follow in order to root my phone using bubby323's GUI, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
mattxmrp
I would read alot of the post in the dev section, you need to make gold card before doing 1click root deal unless bubby included it in it now but read some stuff about it first so you have a better understanding of what is what.

[Q] New Sensation owner

Hello, I am a new HTC Sensation owner and it's my first Android phone too!
I am very excited with the device but, before I screw up something, I would like to know a bit more.
I know there is the possibility, for Android phones, to flash the ROM and install a new one with improved features.
It is something that I will do, I'm sure, but, as mentioned, I would like to be sure of what I do!
So, how can I back-up the current ROM, in order to restore everything as it was when I purchased the phone?
I know about an app called Titanium backup, but it seems that it requires root permission...
Can you help me?
Thank you in advance!

Htc sensation has a locked builder (S-On), you can't install custom roms yet till it is unlocked by HTC or hacked by developers. keep an eye out in the development section. When it is unlocked. Word will spread there,
Also there will be guides of how to root, s off back up etc. once it is unlocked
In the mean time. Have you tried rom manager from the market to backup. download it. Enjoy your sensation

Hi, before opening a thread do some research. If you did do some, you would have found an answer to your question in the Sensation Android development forum. There is a thread about someone who gotva Sensation with unlocked bootloader. Read in this thread as much as you can and please, on the top right of every single page of this forum is the SEARCH box. Use it extensively, you'll save yourself a lot of time.

You're getting way ahead of yourself....You don't need to worry about Sense 3, till you actually learn about rooting and what everything is. If you just jump into this you could end up with a HD paper weight. First you need to read up on the faqs in the DHD section, then maybe you'll understand things better.
hy
Thats all what i want actually ,to get sense 3(because i cant afford a htc sensations). And i am sure you were like me a few years a go ,when u didnt know about these things...so u know how i feel... off-course i want to learn how to do this stuff in the right way , that's why i posted here, asking for help
i hope u understood me
thanks anyway
Spend some time in the HTC Desire HD Subforum they will have guides on how to root your phone, and a few ROMS with Sense 3.0 like cool3d.

Of course I was like you before . When I first got a G1 back in 09 or maybe 2010, I didn't know nothing about root or hacking or anything. But now I know much more, and similar to you I can't get a sensation but I sure as hell can run the unity ROM that's just as good as the sensation stock . But you may also like other roms that are for the DHD, like MIUI, stock android, doubleshot and others.
other ROMS
You should check out the CoreDroid v.7.1 ROM it has a lot of sense 3.0 features built in, it is very fast and very stable, I am running it myself, and I am very pleased.
thanks guys.i am quite liking this community
so to be sure.i just have to root and nothing else ,to be able to install custom Roms ,true?
hope i am not annoying..
thanks and a good day to all
Yes, I would highly reccomend the ace hack kit, it is a very simple, and easy to do root, the manual OS inside of the download, follow it step by step, and feel free to PM me if you have any questions during the process

[Q] Just bought an OTAed phone from CL, which root method for root, s-off, and etc?

Hi Guys,
I just bought an Inspire off of Craigslist. The guys said he had updated or OTAed the phone. I wanted to know which root method or guide should I use for root, s-off, and even sim-unlock, if possible?
Here's the info on it:
Android Version: 2.3.3
HTC Sense Version: 2.1
Build Number: 2.47.502.7 CL93396 release-keys
Software Number: 2.47.502.7
What is the best, easiest method to get this bad boy rooted ? Thanks for your help!
I used the Ace Hack Kit and was rooted in under 15 minutes. Just make sure to read and follow the directions.

There's only one, and this thread was totally unnecessary the root method is on the first page

Hack Kit Thread - this is the only option available to root the GB OTA update
Make sure you read the effen manual, a few times. attn1 has made the process almost idiot proof, but if you run into issues you can hop in their IRC from the link in the OP of that thread
Folks, thanks for your responses, I appreciate your help.
I am not new to Android, been a proud owner of the DInc, EVO 4G, HD2 w/ Android on NAND, EVO 3D, and now the Inspire 4G. In all of those other communities and rooting methods, apparently builds and versions of Android mattered, and appropriate tools remedied the appropriate versions, thus I asked.
So please, there is no need to be upset. I didn't ask HOW TO Root, I asked what solution to use, cause apparently in the stickies, I saw two.
Thanks for the warm welcome, please look forward to more questions and thanks for supporting the community!

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay. The Inspire is a great device, I'm sure you'll love it as much as we do.
FWIW, I too get sick of the snarky, self righteous responses ppl make to a question.
