So I just got FFXIV today(MMO) and I was thinking, this would be a great way to control an MMO like this!
(Basically I'm stealing some of the concepts used when they made the wii-u screen controller.)
FFXIV was designed with controllers in mind (like a xbox controller), but we can do better then that cause our controller has a screen on it!
►We could develop a general app that allows the Shield to interface with a PC as a HID/Game controller.
◘Then we add touch screen support that allowing people to put touch screen hot keys on it (1,2,3, f1,f2,f3, etc).
◘We could add custom button mapping profiles for each game, example: we have a standard MMO game interface like say from Guild Wars2, we could have all our skill/attack/spell keys binds on the screen of the shield.
►Next step, we could try to stream isolated video to the shield. We could have it so we could control and display specific things in a game like menus(item inventory, quest logs, maps) whilst using our main pc monitor for the action portion of play.(kinda like a second monitor that would act as an extended HUD screen)
•In other types of games this could be interesting to have the Shield's screen display things from games like(racing: track, speedo, tac, radio) (RPG's(like fallout) pipboy screen) (flight sim: gauges, altimeter, etc)
There are already apps that let you use an android device as a simple game controller using the touch screen as a game pad, so it seems pretty possible to develop this concept into the shield whilst taking advantage of both the shields physical buttons and touch screen at the same time.
Thoughts, comments? (who want's to setup a kickstarter? lol)

So I finally finished DIY building my very own GameHanger (trademarked, by me ) for my Samsung Galaxy S3. It consists of:
An original Xbox controller, with xbox cable replaced with a very short USB connector
A rubber/plastic-coated coat hanger
A USB-OTG cable
Two nuts and bolts to hold the two together
It works great! Super easy to get my phone in and out, yet it can hold my phone while held upside down. And man, it's a blast playing on this thing. It's so much more fun playing shooters with a proper analog stick controller (even if it is the crappy old original Xbox controller that makes my right hand cramp up). I swear it feels like cheating when I play online shooters like SG: Deadzone. I feel like I have the graphics power of an Xbox 360 in my pocket. Some of these games look just as good, if not better, than games on the 360 on an HDTV. And they're both at 720p!

So far, the gamepad-supported games I'm loving on my S3 are Dead Trigger, Dead Trigger 2, SG: Deadzone, and the SuperGNES snes emulator. These games support gamepads out of the box, with a dialog to map each individual axis and button.
I've also tried NOVA 3, but the framerate was pretty crappy on my S3. Seems like a bleeding edge 2012 phone just isn't up to the task to play a 2012 game. (and if anyone knows how to measure framerate in game like FRAPS, let me know!)
So please recommend me some more gamepad-supported games! Whether they are first person shooters or platformers or whatever, I just want to get the most out of my new GameHanger! But I'm not going to try and use a touch screen emulator IME on a non-gamepad-supported game.
Thanks!
Hi there. I've just published by second Android game (My first game 'Outbreak: Zombie Apocalypse', which is no longer live, got a lot of great feedback here). It is called Gooboids, and here is the market link.
It is a classic arcade style game, which means it is not too easy! You start on level 1, and don't stop playing until you die, at which point you start again. Just like those classic arcade games, it doesn't hold your hand or auto-regenerate health and let you spawn over and over.
The game also features (what I think are) innovative controls. They sit either side of the screen and allow for pretty precise control over your Gooboid. The most important feature of the controls is that you can control the Gooboid without constantly looking at your fingers (a common problem with touch screen games due to the lack of tactile feedback), and they don't ever cover the screen while playing.

Also settling with online scoreboard for next release.
Hi there!
I want to intruduce you all my new game called Lights. Lights is a visual game meant for those moments when you are in the bus or the subway and you can't do anything else. The lights simulate a system of stars, being your finger the center of the galaxy. As simple as that!
Feel free to give it a try if you want!
[FEATURES]
- Up to two fingers.
- You can STILL listen to your phone's music while playing Lights (Note that you will have to mute in-game music or else the two songs will mix)
- You can also change some parameters of the game like the lights' speed, the intensity of your finger's gravity, the number of lights and between some color modes.
- You can repel or atract lights.
[KNOWN ISSUES]
- Sometimes the game thinks there is still a finger on the screen. Tap with both fingers to resolve this issue.
- If the game lags, try with less lights in the options menu. Arround 200 lights is a good number.
- If gravity finger is too strong try to lessen it a bit in the options menu.
- Game mode! is just lame, will work on it later.

Thanks for the info! Maybe I should specify that it's not like this kind of games where you pass levels and all that.
Cannonball 3D
A unique game. You will play as a cannonball in a 3D environment, in each level the goal will be to hit the diamond somehow, with the cannonball itself or with the objects surrounding it. Each level is a puzzle solved with mid air navigation and accuracy. Fun and addictive game that is not hard to control.
In each level you'll simply shoot yourself at the beginning and from there you'll touch the screen to rotate towards the fingers direction.
Once the cannonball collides with anything you'll have the timer running in the top left side of the screen, you will win the level if the diamond was collected / removed before the timer hits zero.
*Note: you don't tilt the device or slide the screen to rotate in mid air, you simply touch the screen in that direction.
The 3D environment is optimized so it'll run smoothly on most of the devices, the physics were optimized as well.
As the game progresses you'll find more game mechanics and harder challenges to face.
- Don't be afraid to review the game and report bugs, if any were found.
we will be more than happy to fully support it.
- The game was developed by GoMaD Team.
- Music by: Guy Benami.

seems cool! let me try it out
To be honest, you must work on graphics
The game is good, has potential However, what confused me a bit is that the advertisement are on the top where they are in front of part of the interface. Shouldn't the ads be at the bottom such that you can see everything?
Give a phone or tablet to your kid or toddler without worry that toddler will do something else than you allowed. All activities in application can be sandboxed and protected from leaving with a gesture. Your child wouldn't be allowed to leave started activity. At the moment only "two finger double tap" is supported but in the future you will be able to define your own gesture.
In addition this application helps to develop toddler's sensory and motor skills and increase curiosity.
This application is in active development. New features will be introduced shortly.
In app features:
Protect application from leaving defined screen by gesture
Picture browser - you can define folder with pictures which your kid can browse
Animals with cool sounds
Your kid can make wonderful drawings. Or even better... draw together with your kid and save your drawings!
Shake your phone to clear drawing area
Scratch screen and discover hidden animal. You can play with you kid who will guess faster
Well known Memory game for the youngest
More to come...
In progress:
More cool animals
Alphabet course
Simple educational games
