Does it show the charging symbol on the powered down phone when you plug the charger in? Maybe your power button is broken.
Make sure you are using the AC adaptor to charge and not a usb cable.
Nope, nothing atall :-(. The only indecation its doing anything is that the battery is getting warm.
Try this with both of your batteries, separately:
1. Remove battery from phone.
2. Wait for 5 minutes.
3. Put battery back in and connect to AC adapter (not usb)
4. Wait 5 minutes.
5. Press the power button.
6. Re-try 1-5 with the other battery.
Same thing happened to me... it seems the phone is not recognizing the power adapter.. ARGGHHHHHH
If anyone as fixed this, please let me know!!
You may want to give this tool a try, see if it does anything.

Hi, did you find a solution to this issue? my nexus S won't turn on.
It's getting warmer when plugged in, but it has no indicator of charging, nor is the power button working :S
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi
I would start a new thread since this is one year old....
But please give more information:
Are u rooted or stock?
If rooted, what recovery, what ROM, what was happening prior to issue.. etc.
The more info the better for readers to help give advice.
Good luck

Hey guys!
So. I was driving to the airport, using my phone as my GPS. Then boom. It turns off. So I swapped my battery. It wasn't turning on.
I got home, and my phone still wouldn't turn on. I plug it into my computer and it recognizes my OMAP, but not my phone. When I plug it in it has a white LED, and no other signs of life.
Anyone know how to fix this kind of behaviour?
I have tried several things.
1. Recovery mode, there is no life in it at all. No dual boot screen, and no other signs of life.
2. Pulling the battery. Tried it.
3. Replacing the battery. No go.
4. Completely powering it down without a battery. Pulled the battery, and then pressed home button.
5. Leave it charging. Nope :/
Any help?

Hope this helps

Nope... it didn't work. Still goes into the endless "OMAP" connected, disconnected process on my computer.
Sorry to say it but your phone might just be... dead. If you can't charge it with the McGyver method, and I assume you can't boot into fastboot, then there really isn't much you can do. You should be able to get a replacement device through Moto's 1-year warranty.
Can u boot into fasboot? This happened to me a couple weeks ago, so i went into fastboot, and flashed bpears batch file to flash back to stock..... i also one time had to wipe my phone from motorola recovery (one of the choices before fastboot) then restart back into fasboot then use bpears fastboot tool..... not sure if this was the time i had to do that though.....

I tried the Macgyver method. No joy. I tried booting into fastmode, not even a bit of life............ I think my Atrix 2 is dead..... anyone know the best place to sell a phone for parts? Everything else is good on my phone, except for the fact that it won't turn on.
Second android phone that has went and bricked on me. I am wondering if a WP7 is a good choice.... I just wish I didn't have to spend anymore cash!
I know this might sound dumb, but did you try plugging it in to an actual outlet and not just your computer? The first time I completely discharged my A2 i had the same problem, I hooked it up to my laptop and got a white LED. Panicked for a good hour, and plugged it into an outlet. Phone booted up into "charging mode" within a couple of seconds.

It doesn't sound dumb at all! I have had this issue also before, but I left it plugged into the wall for 2 days, then I have tried plugging it into my computer too.

You tried MacGyver method to solve white led when USB connected? Did it solve?
I have full charged batteries, because I charged in my friend defy. What is the difference of a full charged battery and MacGyver method?
HI Guys
Got a One S with a s3 cpu bootloader unlocked.
Today I let the phone on and wait until it discharges totally. Then I plug it using the charger.
What a surprise, the led turn orange during 2s and then turn off and nothing more happends. I stay like that during 2 hours just in case it is charging anyway.
But not, i can't power it on.
When i press the power button, nothing
When I press it during 10s, the screen flashes and nothing more...
I can't even boot on the recovery.
Feel free to share your ideas, thoughts...
in one word helppppp
Thanks
sounds dead :crying:
does adb recognize it
btw you are in the One S Forum

nope
doesn't look good
guess i am not a big fan of letting the phone run down to zero, although wouldn't think that would brick it
sounds like a charger problem. the orange LED shouldn't turn off if it's continue charging. Try another charger or charger with higher capacity. (i.e, iPad 10W charger)
UNfortunatly tried 2 different charger and usb from pc.
No change
Must be perm brick

My Nexus S was working perfectly and running JellyBean (Was just updated). One morning, I woke up and saw the phone powered off. I tried to turn it on but it didn't. I plugged it to the charger, it just becoming hot without any luck in turning it on. What do you think, guys?!!
Try pulling the battery out while it's unplugged. Then see if you can turn it on after putting the battery back in.

Try another battery and if that fails then i guess its bricked.:crying:
Maybe a faulty battery or a poor charger? A phone heating up while charging is not strange, but it should be able to boot. Try to charge for 10 minutes and than disconnect and try to boot.
I pulled the battery many times but it didn't work.
Also, I charged it for more than three hours; but no luck in turning it on.
So, is it bricked?
if u plug usb to comp and nexus s , and if your screen is black, you are bricked.. and you motherboard is dead..
Both my PC and Mac don't recognize it. I tried unbricking it using Adam tool, but the device cannot be found.
I think the time has come for buying a new phone...even though I liked the Nexus s.
the same happen to me!!
Try pulling the battery out for about 15 - 30 minutes and then plug in the phone but dont turn it on just leave it to charge, see if that works
I tried doing everything possible on this forum....even the unbrickable tool....but no luck in retrieving my phone....
I liked the phone...but, there is no google devices stores in my country and no one can fix it (even Samsung, they say they cannot supprot such devices)
I think I'll end up buying another phone :crying:
Thanks guys for your support

i can not start the phone. this happened just after power button failure.
Hi OP,
What ROM/Kernel/Tweaks were you running before this has happened what. Model was your Nexus S and how long did you have it.
I have no recommendations for you unfortunately but just wondering out of curiosity.
Thx
Try a new battery already.

Have u tried connecting to your computer?
Give this a try. With the phone charged take the battery out press volume up and power button then insert the battery. If that does not work take batter out press the volume up and power button again but this time insert the charger and battery while holding. If you succeed with any of this two methods install a different kernel original on if possible.
