[Help]Brick ? - HTC One S

HI Guys
Got a One S with a s3 cpu bootloader unlocked.
Today I let the phone on and wait until it discharges totally. Then I plug it using the charger.
What a surprise, the led turn orange during 2s and then turn off and nothing more happends. I stay like that during 2 hours just in case it is charging anyway.
But not, i can't power it on.
When i press the power button, nothing
When I press it during 10s, the screen flashes and nothing more...
I can't even boot on the recovery.
Feel free to share your ideas, thoughts...
in one word helppppp
Thanks

sounds dead :crying:
does adb recognize it
btw you are in the One S Forum

Think will see with waranty if it works

Oh, sorry--misunderstood
Good Luck on resolving it--

So is adb recognised ?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium

nope

doesn't look good
guess i am not a big fan of letting the phone run down to zero, although wouldn't think that would brick it

sounds like a charger problem. the orange LED shouldn't turn off if it's continue charging. Try another charger or charger with higher capacity. (i.e, iPad 10W charger)

UNfortunatly tried 2 different charger and usb from pc.
No change

Must be perm brick

[Q] Black Screen - White Light. No power

Hey guys!
So. I was driving to the airport, using my phone as my GPS. Then boom. It turns off. So I swapped my battery. It wasn't turning on.
I got home, and my phone still wouldn't turn on. I plug it into my computer and it recognizes my OMAP, but not my phone. When I plug it in it has a white LED, and no other signs of life.
Anyone know how to fix this kind of behaviour?
I have tried several things.
1. Recovery mode, there is no life in it at all. No dual boot screen, and no other signs of life.
2. Pulling the battery. Tried it.
3. Replacing the battery. No go.
4. Completely powering it down without a battery. Pulled the battery, and then pressed home button.
5. Leave it charging. Nope :/
Any help?

Hope this helps

Nope... it didn't work. Still goes into the endless "OMAP" connected, disconnected process on my computer.
Sorry to say it but your phone might just be... dead. If you can't charge it with the McGyver method, and I assume you can't boot into fastboot, then there really isn't much you can do. You should be able to get a replacement device through Moto's 1-year warranty.
Can u boot into fasboot? This happened to me a couple weeks ago, so i went into fastboot, and flashed bpears batch file to flash back to stock..... i also one time had to wipe my phone from motorola recovery (one of the choices before fastboot) then restart back into fasboot then use bpears fastboot tool..... not sure if this was the time i had to do that though.....

I tried the Macgyver method. No joy. I tried booting into fastmode, not even a bit of life............ I think my Atrix 2 is dead..... anyone know the best place to sell a phone for parts? Everything else is good on my phone, except for the fact that it won't turn on.
Second android phone that has went and bricked on me. I am wondering if a WP7 is a good choice.... I just wish I didn't have to spend anymore cash!
I know this might sound dumb, but did you try plugging it in to an actual outlet and not just your computer? The first time I completely discharged my A2 i had the same problem, I hooked it up to my laptop and got a white LED. Panicked for a good hour, and plugged it into an outlet. Phone booted up into "charging mode" within a couple of seconds.

It doesn't sound dumb at all! I have had this issue also before, but I left it plugged into the wall for 2 days, then I have tried plugging it into my computer too.

You tried MacGyver method to solve white led when USB connected? Did it solve?
I have full charged batteries, because I charged in my friend defy. What is the difference of a full charged battery and MacGyver method?

u should never let ur battery get to low,,, keep it charged... leave it alone for awhile..
Did someone find a solution to this? A friend of mine's One S had exactly the same issue..Also recharged for something like 5-6 hours but never turned on again..suggestions?
Only thing you can try is to boot into 'Fastboot' and try reboot from there, not saying it will work but worth a try cuz mine did the same thing 2 days ago and mine was cuz battery dropped lower than 2% while messing around on computer

Are you using cwm recovery? If so boot into fastboot and flash twrp. There is a bug with cwm that won't boot the phone while the battery is dead...the led light just flashes and occasionally you will get the screen flash. Unplug the phone from charger and pc, hold volume down + power to enter bootloader then plug into pc to fastboot the twrp recovery.

I had the same problem a loooooooooooooong time ago. Plug it in, wait for it to have a solid orange LED. Then try to power it on. If that doesn't work, give it a couple more minutes then do a soft reset. If that doesn't work, then you, sir, have a very plush paperweight.

I just googled to see if the One S had any other LED colours except for green, orange and amber, because I would like to customise them as well, and I saw this thread on the results. Sadly, green, orange and amber is my lot

Unplug your phone, soft reset, go to fastboot, flash twrp recovery and enjoy your phone .

I have changed my battery with the battery of the One X+ of 2100 mah, if you read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1888741 many people have succesfully done this, anyway in my case the battery was completly discharged ( zero power ) and when I plug the phone to the charged I got this exact situation: orange blinking led with the screen flashing sometimes. I can enter inside fastboot with the charget pluged it but I cannot start the device. I have left the phone connected to the charger for a lot of hours but it doesn't charge. What can I do?

[Q] How do I know my HOX battery is dead?

Phone doesn't charge (usb pc , charger ac outlet). No red lights. Did all buttons combinations with no luck. It gets warm by the back camera area when plug to ac outlet but battery stays cold. How to know? Motherboard or battery.
Sounds like a brick what does windows recognize the phone as?

Did you do anything to cause this condition (flash anything, RUU), or did it just happen on its own? Is the phone modded or stock?
Leave the phone plugged to the wall charger (not computer) for several hours (overnight) and try to power on again. Try both power on button combos:
1) regular power-on: holding power for a few seconds, then releasing
2) bootloader: hold power button and vol down, then release power button, but keep pressing vol down, until bootloader comes up, or you're convinced nothing is happening
Don't know what you mean by "Did all button combinations", and I don't like when people say vague stuff like this. The 2 combos above are the only ones you should be trying. Power and vol up puts the phone in Qualcomm download mode, which is not a good idea.

Not recognized by computer.
We understand that you want an answer to your question, but in order for us to do that you must provide as much detailed information as possible, your initial post was quite vague. Do as Redpoint suggested and have the phone plugged into a wall outlet overnight, try the button combinations he listed, and report back tomorrow.

Did all you said. Left the phone plugged for 48 hours, plugged it in my pc for 24 hours (no charging, not recognized) drivers installed, button combinations (hold power button and vol down, holding power for a few seconds, then releasing). Phone won't charge nor power on. This problem was after charging it and power it off by the power button.
So when you connect it to your pc it doesn't make a connection sound or show up as QHSUSB_DLOAD in device manager?

You didn't "hurt my feelings". But if you want us to help properly, you need to be specific as to what you tried (not just say "I tried all the button combos" which means nearly nothing). And the one button combo for Qualcomm Download Mode is one you do not want to try.
Try to power on (regular and bootloader) while the phone is plugged to the charger. There was at least one user here that was able to get into bootloader this way, when for some reason it would not while unplugged. There is no rhyme or reason to this. But anything is worth a try at this point, right?
If the phone still will not power on, or even show a charge LED after being on the wall charger (don't charge on the computer, it doesn't provide enough juice) for several hours, you're pretty much out of luck.
Since you said you haven't done anything to your phone, meaning rooting it, S-OFF etc. What's stopping you from getting a warranty replacement?

If the phone is still under warranty, this is what I would recommend. Some One X's have simply given up the ghost lately due to hardware failure of whatever reason.

My phone just die and it is not responding.

Today my phone was working fine and it was working fine all the time. I have 4.4.4 Android unlocked and not rooted (it was rooted, but when i updated to 4.4.4 the root was gone and i didnt put it on). It was in my pocket and when i got home i wanted to start the sceen and it dosent react to anything. I tryed charging it (thinking the battery died, not nothing on the screen), try pushing all the buttons (3 buttons in the same time) nothing again. it is so strange!? what i can do? i have connected to my computer, but the com is not detecting it. and the screen dont react at all. this is so strange!?!?!?

So You've done nothing?
Okay, well first i recommend doing the "obvious".
1) Hold Down the Power Button
else
2)Load device manager on your PC and connect your Phone, anything coming up?
else
3)leave it in the charger overnight.
Also if the battery is dead, it won't show anything on screen, it'll be black only.
then when it has enough power it'll show a red light at the bottom.
Push and good the power button for 20 seconds. See if after it'll boot

Maybe try giving it a while on the chargee then toggle with the power button. I had a Lenovo tab once that did the same thing, it just suddenly died and I tried doing everything I could to revive it. So I just gave up and left it on the charger for a long time then gave it one last hold of the power button and presto! It was alive.

If you can't turn on the phone, even they wouldn't be able to. I guess you still have a shot at warranty. :fingers-crossed:
i am having the same problem, but when i connect my phone to the computer it's trying to instal the qhsusb_bulk driver, from my reasarch it's a hard brik... same i cand use my warranty because the phone glass it's cracked so the only solution is a jtag but i dont't know if it's posibile for the NEXUS 5. I went to a service and the say it's because of dead software. All i want to know is if it's posibile to resurect it with JTAG.
Same thing happened to my n5 32gb last Thursday. I sent it already to Google. It is unlocked but like new condition visually.
I'm really disappointed because my old 4year old HTC working.

Hardware failures can occur on any device. My HTC One X died within 2 months of usage. That's why the manufacturer provides warranty to take care of it under such circumstances.

You can try to access the secondary bootloader and see if you can fix it from there. Follow the last thread which I've linked in my signature and from the its OP follow the bsod thread.
If that doesn't help, the device is a goner.

You need to use the volume buttons to select recovery option in bootloader and then press the power button to get there.. If the buttons are stuck or do not work, I'm not sure what you could do now other than rma.

Hard brick or what else ?

I own a old Nexus S. I think its soft bricked. One time, the phone fall and the battery goes out. I put the battery on the phone, and the phone does now what do you see on the picture. When i put the battery, the screen makes light, but nothing more. The battery doesnt charge anymore, and i tested the battery with a VoltMeter :4V. I tested the battery mainboard connector, and i have.... 0V, when connected to charger or USB port of my laptop !
I tried VOL+ and Power, then pluging the battery holding Vol+ and power, and still the same blank screen. Means bootloader is corrupted ?
Thanks for answers !
