How to stop web pages from loading zoomed in. - Asus Transformer TF700

Anyone know how to prevent web pags from loading in a zoomed in state? If I click on a link the page will open and I have to zoom out to view the full page. It's been slowly building up a nerve with me. I really don't know how else to describe it except by including screen shots. The first image is the page after hitting the link and the second is what I want it to load to. I've tried page settings set to far (defualt is medium) but that doesn't work. The browsers I use are Boat, Chrome, and stock browser. I experince this in all 3 and various sites with it set to load desktop versions.
Thanks for any suggestions.

In the stock browser in settings - choose load pages in overview. As far as I'm aware Chrome loads in overview by default. It does on my phone anyway.
But why on earth would you want to load them and then have to pinch zoom? That would drive me nuts! lol

Best Opera build for image searching

I do a lot of image searching from my phone. I just downloaded Opera 9.5 and Google images now places the image bar across the top that needs to be closed before viewing the full page. To close it I must now zoom in to click the close buton & once I go back I lose all the original search info. I miss the way Google images worked when I had originally bought the phone but love the faster loading of the pages. Is there a way to get the best of both worlds?
I would recommend Opera Mini for searching images. Way faster. If you find an image you like, just right click on it and click on Open Image to get the full quality version.
Helps you breeze thru the crap.

HTC HD2 IE help :)

I just got my htc hd2 a couple days ago and so far ive got it all modded out just like i want it but i have one problem left to fix.
I dont really like Opera that much and call me weird but ive always prefered IE for both mobile and desktop. Most of the time Ie works flawless for me but every once in a while a website will load with massive fonts... and its not all the fonts. (the links and other things stay the same size) When i go into the settings and change the font size it doesnt help and when i zoom out it makes the links and stuff microscopic. I have also set my phone to be in mobile view... no help and i tried desktop view... no help.
Ive been looking for an answer to this for some time and the only solutions i can find are people saying to zoom out or change the font size in the settings.
If this has already been asked im sorry but i couldnt find it... ANY help would be appreciated.
hi,
put 2 fingers in the middle of the screen and move them to up and down edges. same zooming in all programs where it necessary, photo, office, acrobat etc. zoom here use for initial opening and after adjust as you like.
All the best.

Thanks for the reply but if im correct the 2 finger zoom in and out only works in opera and im lookin for Internet explorer.
Ty tho
Weird
It may just be a rendering issue; if it's just some parts of some pages (of some sites?), it may be that the page has a layout defined via a .CSS stylesheet and IE is not able to render it correctly? The mobile version of IE, whilst it's waaayyyy better on WM6.5 than it was on 6.0 and 5.0, "it aint' all that" ..... which is why lots of people use Opera.
Does the screwy page you get in IE render OK if you open it with Opera?? Might be worth comparing pages in the two browsers - and if Opera is OK, check the page using IE on your desktop PC to see if it's ok on there.
Just a couple of suggestions ..... sorry it's not a solution
Cheers,
Mark.
no the screwy pages are only on IE... for instance this website has the problem...
The reason i dont use opera is because it often doesk funky website layouts and thats the reason i got rid of my old phone.

[Q] Page loading problem with stock browser.

With the stock browser, the page loads, is formatted correctly, but almost none of the images on the page load an the progress bar just hangs.
Stopping and refreshing the page just does the same thing. It happens with multiple websites, but I seem to have it mostly with bigger pages like engadget.com or androidcentral.com.
I have to reboot (or use the Fast Reboot utility) the tablet to get the browser working again.
Wondering if anyone else has seen this?
Do you get image placeholders with anything in them (an arrow, etc) where pictures/flash should be, or just white space? Also do you have it set up to announce itself as a desktop, tablet or mobile browser to web servers?
I have my stock browser user agent set as desktop. I visit engadget frequently and have not notice any problems you described. I so sometimes see a blank space where video should be, but clicking on the blank space plays video without problems. Stock browser is bit buggy to say the least, try other browsers and see if you have the same problems.
I just get blank spaces where the images should be. And the progress bar never completes like it's still trying to load those missing images.
Oddly though videos do show up on the page. It's only images that are not showing up.
I have the browser agent set to Desktop. I also have plugins set to always on, but did try on-demand for giggle, but no change.
Very strange. Maybe it's a good idea to try other browsers as buri73 suggested. I've heard good things about Dolphin HD since they updated it.
Opera Mobile and Dolphin HD don't have this problem. Just the stock browser.
I like using the stock browser because it syncs my desktop bookmarks and the UI is much better on a tablet to me.
Maybe I'll back things up and try a factory reset.
Glad it's not just me having this problem. It feels like the Browser just likes to pause for a few minutes when a page is only 75% loaded.
As an example, when loading the next page of search results on Google, it'll show the Google logo and search bar, sometimes the sidebar, and then the results will appear (sometimes) many seconds or even minutes later. It's long enough that it's easier just to go to my phone or laptop, enter the search terms, and load the same page.
Not tried other browsers yet.
While this has happened to me a few times, I generally force stop browser rather than reboot.

The stock browser does the same thing to me at times. I have it set to desktop and sometimes it seems to crawl when loading a page. If I go to the same page in Dolphin it seems to load fine. The stock browser doesn't do it all the time but its frequent enough where.

[Q] Can the pop-up browser expand to Chrome?

Is there a way to get the pop-up browser to expand into Chrome instead of the stock browser? I've seen from searches here and via Google that it may have 'glitched' this way for a couple people, but I want to do this deliberately and haven't found a flashable mod or setting to edit. Any directions or advice would be great, thanks!
Just to clarify, here's an example of what I'd like to do:
1) Use the pop-up browser to open a link from my Facebook feed.
2) Click the 'Expand' arrow in the pop-up browser to open the link in Chrome instead of the stock browser.
At the moment there isn't any way for it to happen but I won't be surprise if someone found or create a way to do what your talking about.
There's gotta be some way. A couple people in the CleanROM thread and in the Note II forums have had it glitch where it opens Chrome instead of stock. Maybe I should take a few of the XDA University courses, learn how to code, and poke around in the apk.

Which Android Tabbed Browser?

I'm looking for a new browser but cannot find anything I can get along with
I have used Dolphin for years but have had enough of the Speed Dial screen on any new tabs and having to press the home shortcut to get to my homepage
What I am looking for is a tabbed browser, like Dolphin, that automatically defaults to the homepage saved. I do not want to be looking at dashboards and speed dials that developers seem to think we want. I want it to load my homepage not anything else, just my homepage
I have tried several browsers over the last few days and nothing that I have found can be set how I want to use it. The closest I have found is Naked Browser but this still doesn't default to my saved homepage. I have emailed the developer and also commented on their thread on here but no reply as of starting this thread
Any recommendations on a browser that would meet my requirements?
So you're saying that you want to see a specific page when opening a new tab? I think browsers like chrome, have the option to change default homepage to any page you wanted.

New tab defaulting to homepage works fine on Chrome but Chrome does not have proper tabbed browsing like Dolphin or Naked Browser
